We chose this cruise as it was a small ship (660 passengers), was visiting places we wanted to see, and was when we were in Europe visiting other countries. Firstly our cabin was obviously designed for twin beds but the turned it into a double. What this meant was that when your pillow was in the wrong position it hit the light switch and turned all the cabin lights on. This happened several times over the 12 days. Also we were on the 4th floor above the gangway on the 3rd floor, every time we docked we were awoken by banging, crashing, and even one morning by an angle grinder as they prepared for disembarkation in port. One excursion we got absolutely soaked getting from the ship to the bus and had to sit for seven hours in wet squelchy clothes- not good. As it was a small ship you had only one choice of entertainment each night and it was hit and miss as to quality. The acoustics in the dining room were so noisy that my poor father, who wears hearing aids, couldn’t have them turned on so missed out on conversations in the end we had buffet dinners. Also when did you go to a fine dining restaurant and have Purcel squirted into your hands as you entered??? No free bottled water??? Even on the trains in Europe you get a free bottle of water, also free in every hotel - no Princess wanted USD $7 for a bottle of water !!! We have decided that as a family we are never going on a cruise again Read Less

DECEMBER 6 , 2019 This report is about Our just completed Maiden Voyage on the SKY Princess This is going to be a 21 days cruise from rome to ft. Lauderdale Lets begin with my and my wife big expectation for this special cruise as we never took a maiden voyage but we are elite on princess and we look forward to this experience , we board the ship in the port of civitavecchia near rome , driving up to the ship she look wonderful to me not knowing what was waiting for us , the check in process was fine , the cabin was fine the worst was just around the corner . 1 ) the first evening dinner the food is terrible , presentation sucks , food looks like is been seating around , i order tagliatelle al pesto , over cook on the pasta and the pesto is from a cheap jar i' m thinking we just left and they do not have some fresh basil and some olive oil and fresh garlic ? We are in trouble left the dining room and go up to the buffet same story up there and by the way the food is cold what's with that ? I ask the server if they have a power problem he just shrug off , he does not seem to care . 2) next morning my wife wants a latte at the coffee bar , she is served a latte in a paper cup with a paper lid that as she starts drinking from it the top start falling apart in her mouth , we ask the barista what with this he says princess is going green so all there cups are paper but we see myriad of plastic gloves every where what's with that ? 3) this ship does not have any cover pools or jacuzzis , so it is very cold on this cruise we saw nobody until the left few days , they spend millions for pools that can't be used unless you are a polar bear . 4) lets talk about the food in general breakfast , lunch or dinner is terrible , i have to say this is the first cruise i lost weight 7 pounds to be honest , presentation terrible , looks and taste terrible , food is cold , my god the cold cuts like prosciutto , coppa , salame needs to be cut thin and it has to be kept cold and don't put olive oil on top , i came to the conclusion that if you are from india or china you are probably ok with this food , lots of spices similar to currie but the majority of this passengers are from north america and by the info i got they where over 1500 of elite passengers , this is terrible. The desserts are boring and taste bad , also no donuts , this is the first cruise i actually was left with eating jello can you believe that ! 5) princess theater , what a bust , the first production show was terrible too dark , over the edge this are seniors lets stuck to the classics , the second show was not any better , in the 7 days while crossing the atlantic there was nothing going in the theater , no movies on the big screen what a bust. The piazza music basically sucks , same quartet very depressing music and same over and over i ' m asking myself where can i escape ? 6) the cabin is no better , the steward not cleaning the room , mirrors have spots from the moment we got on board until we completed the cruise , the corners of the carpet area never been vacuum , for a new ship this is very depressing , i also noted on my balcony and i taken a photo above my head there is a bracket that supports a drain hose from the above balcony that is missing the big bolt but someone did paint over , i wonder how many bolts are missing thru the ship . 7) another big problem , every port in spain we loose the satellite signal so can't watch any tv and also limited channels , offer additional channels for a fee if necessary , very boring for this being the highest tech ship and going for seven days and nothing to do , give me a break. 8) room service is terrible , is either short staff or they do not care , the only day that i call i sat for 24 minutes with a recording , i hung-up call passenger service and they said the only way was to e-mail them and to be waiting they would call me but never did . 9) on the 19th day on the way to malaga i got norovirus symptoms major vomit and diarrhea never before i got this sick and talking to the crew we find out the ship was been sanitized for exactly a outbreak of norovirus the week before we boarded the ship but nobody said anything about that to us . 10) the breakfast in the morning we like to order room service , the food is old , the juices are water down and as to top it off as elite they offer room appetizers in the afternoon , we order one time it was terrible , we did not touch any of it . 11) on the 25th we got offer a steak dinner by the casino host , we went to the crown grill , a total disappointment , i order the scallops appetizer those were the smallest scallops i have ever seen , the steak was to tough that i only could eat the fillet side and my wife order the lobster and actually that look like a very large shrimp , will not ever go back , ty. 12) now at the end of our cruise there was the thanksgiving dinner , i thought they will have a wonderful meal as this being a food base celebration but no , turkey dinner was equal to a frozen microwave dinner or similar but cold and this in the dining room , so we left and went up to the buffet and for our surprise same horrible experience up there so i just give up. So to recap , i will never cruise on the sky princess and i might not cruise on princess large ship again and if i cruise on princess i want to know who the chef will be and who is the food and beverage director is or for sure it will not be for more then 7 days . Staff was unfriendly and rude across the board. Bar staff seemed put out and irritated when I ordered drinks. ON top of that they had gratuity added onto every drink. It was not an option to leave less than 15 or 18%. Beyond irritating. When I passed staff on the ship they never said hi or smiled. They were over it. Upon boarding the ship I saw a crew member near the pool in the smoking section having a cigarette. So gross. This ship needs new leadership from the top down. High end restaurants had bad service. At one dinner we paid $39 extra per person. The waiter neglected us and took no responsibility for the bad service. Another restaurant blamed the scheduling system for the poor service however they didn't greet us after 10 minutes of standing in the entry. This ship missed the ball on so many levels. I'll never sail with Princess cruise lines again. Read Less

This was our fourth cruise on princess 2nd time on the Emerald. Th is was a 14 day cruise. Starting in Rome. 10 ports ending in Barcelona. I recommend this cruise or any cruise going to th is region of the world, we previously did a family land tour of northern Italy so this would be all new territory. We were picked up at our hotel in the Spanish steps area to the Ship. I think it was about Two hours. This trip was my wife and I first time cruising just the two of us. Getting on the ship was very organized and quick dropped off our bags waited about 2 minutes to get to the check in desk received our cards and off to the ship. We had a balcony 14 deck near the front of the ship, same type size room we had when we did Alaskan cruise Two years earlier. Plenty of room for two and our four bags . One thing to know if you never cruised before we bring a heavy 6 foot extension cord with multiple plug ins. The bed was great room clean and our room Stewart was very good always seemed to know when we would leave room always kept clean . There are two dining rooms we ate Da Vinci, and Michelangelo. We ate breakfast almost every day at Da Vinci. . And Dinner at Michelangelo had the best Materdi Carlos the magnificent And our lovely waiter Franco from Mexico. We had anytime dinning but our table was always saved for us we started with just my wife and I and as we made friends we had a table for 6.the food was good some excellent some ok mostly very very good. Franco always new what we’re drinking and never waited long to receive them. I would not recommend the buffet much. We ate there two times . Excursion We did two from the ship. We did Pompeii from Salerno all I can say was the tour guide from the princess ship was horrible he made up stuff and not one time did he take us to a shady area when it was near 100 degrees. My suggestion make all your excursions before you leave home online with reputable companies. We did a excursion in Kotor Montenegro was booked before we left home. We did this from a group of 6 Aussies we met from roll call. We did a speedboat. Blue cave , submarine caves tour with swimming at the blue caves,a very fun 3 hour tour, we then did The Godfather tour booked from princess , this was a very fun day. Great tour guide if your a fan of The Godfather movies you will enjoy this. Our next paid excursion was also not from princess with family we met from roll call. We did Pompeii again from Naples. This was a fantastic tour our guide his name was Sasha was so knowledgeable his father was also a tour guide I told him what the tour guide from the princess ship told us and he said what load of garbage i showed him the pictures I took from the first tour and what the guide told us about that. He was blown away with the crap the first guide told us. Every time there was shade he took us to the shady spots and explained what was the real history, all ”other ports we did either the hop on bus or just walked the towns. We had some of the best food on land ever.seafood was more then fantastic. One thing if your going to book your excursion from princess do it before you get on the ship most of the good excursions sold out very fast. I do recommend using non princess excursion. We made a lot of new friends in this ship. After dinner we would go to crooners bar see the piano player. We did trivia one night. And we watched a few movies on the deck with greasy popcorn. If you drink much including alcohol coffee and water get the drink package we got ours free with our balcony booking so it was worth it. Drinks are not cheap if you buy your own . Bottle water $2.50. Latte $2.50 each . We had a later time to get off the ship in Barcelona our transportation was supposed to pick us up at 10 but after 3 phone calls they finally got there by11.00 there is no place to sit and almost no shade at the Barcelona terminal. Then they took us to the wrong hotel , this was not booked through princess . One thing I would recommend transfers book from princess. If you smoke they have a cigar smoke room or you can smoke on the 16 th deck ... Feel free to ask my anything you would like to know. Read Less

I just took the 10 Days Regal Princess out of New York last November and had the best food service and selection so I gather a group of friends to do the 10 Days Euro Explorer cruise and what a disappointment! Everyday the breakfast buffet is exactly the same! Where is the smoke salmon? If is behind the station and you have to ask for it! Water down coffee and hard as a rock toast! Lunch buffet is no better unless you go down to the dinning room and catch hell from their waiter staff and yells at you when you do not sit at the right table. No flexibility when you want to eat before 8pm or else buffet is your option! The ship was supposed to be recently refurbished but the cabin still looked aged and only new TV and bed. But I must say the bed is really good and comfortable to sleep on! TV has very good movie selection but you can not check the ship's day program and only via your cellphone or mobile device... why not? Who is their IT Program Director that can't even come up with this basic function? The TV is HD but the in-house program that talked about the shore information recorded from the live sessions are not so you will see all the fizzy video the you can't even read the wording they are showing on shore info. We had chosen this cruise because of the itinerary. We traveled 3 generations including 2 children ages 7/10. The food was beyond horrible. We are vegetarian and they put meat in our food in the main dining hall. Guest Services was awful and did not even try to remedy the horrible food. The cabins are small and outdated. The entertainment at night (nightly shows) were awful. The comedian was not funny. Even my kids didn't like the Kids Club. The room attendant was nice and was the only part of the cruise that was good. Port stops were great. We didn't do any Princess excursions. We did excursions with other groups. Princess gave us no information on what do when getting off the boat. I would go to the Mediterranean again any day as it is beautiful but I will never travel with Princess Cruises ever again. Especially if you are a vegetarian definitely do not take this cruise line. Read Less

This was on the 28 day cruise from Rome to Singapore. 1.        The restrooms in the common area (levels 5, 6 and 7) had 50% or more consistently closed due to maintenance or were not functioning.  There must have been issues in construction or a maintenance issue for this to occur with such a new ship.  I reported this problem to the Passenger Service Desk. 2.       There was condensation dripping from the ceiling in the Princess Theater.  This occurred in the front section of the theater (about the front 10 rows).  The seats would get all wet and no one wanted to sit in them.  Or you would be sitting in them and all at once, you would have water dripping on you.  Again, appears to be a design flaw with the ship that A/C ducts were not properly insulated in order to prevent the condensation from the high humidity. 3.       Elevators were very hot.  Felt like no A/C.  Appeared to be a problem caused by the top floor (level 16) being very hot from door opening out to the pool area.  Again, there appeared to be a design flaw for the ship not being able to properly cool the upper floor and the elevator.  The rest of the ship felt warm all the time like the A/C could not keep up with the warm temperatures we had.  Poorly designed ship. 4.       The walls of our cabin made excessive noise anytime we encountered seas of 10 feet or more which isn’t even considered to be very rough.  I think we never encountered seas of over 13 feet.  The walls didn’t creak or groan but made a banging noise.  It would sound like someone was knocking on our door.  Twice during the night, my wife got up and went to the door thinking someone was knocking.  It was just a banging noise as the walls would shift or flex due to the rocking motion of the ship.  We have never encountered this on any other ship.  Again, appears to be a design flaw. 5.       On a 28 day cruise, we only had three production shows plus a repeat of one done earlier.  We usually have had two on a 7 day cruise.  That means we had only one half of the number what should be on a 28 day cruise.  Is Princess cutting back on the production shows? 6.       We marked our laundry to be done on a priority basis.  We noticed that were getting our laundry back after2 or three days.  We didn’t say anything about it earlier on the cruise but near the end of the cruise, we sent out the laundry we needed to have done for the balance of our trip.  We sent it out for priority on June 14 and when it wasn’t back by the early evening of June 15, I went to the Passenger Desk to find out what the problem.  They called the laundry and they said they could not find our laundry and we would hear something the next day.  I called the next morning (June 16) and the Passenger Service Desk said the Customer Service Officer would call back.  She called back while we were on tour and left a voice message that the laundry wasn’t lost but it wasn’t done yet.  It would be to us by 3 PM.  She said because there were too many Elite passengers, the ship had decided that Elite passengers could not have priority service with the laundry.  That was why our laundry was being returned late the whole cruise.  When we got back at 3:30PM, only one half had been returned.  I left three messages for the Customer Service Officer but she never returned a call.  The balance of the laundry showed up at about 5PM.  Is it true that a ship can arbitrarily decide to discontinue priority service for Elite passengers?  If so, shouldn’t there have been at least a notice given to the Elite passengers.  Can Princess just decide to delete or remove a service it says it will provide to Elite passengers like this? 7.       On the first night we got on the ship, I went down to the Passenger Service Desk to have a whole punched in our cruise card so we could attach it to our lanyards.  There were only 2 staff members manning the desk at 7:45PM.  After waiting about 40 minutes (and that was in the Elite line), we were told that they were not allowed to punch the cards due to the new locking mechanism for the cabin doors.  We were sent over to the ship store and after asking a representative, we were given a plastic sleeve that could hold the card and be attached to the lanyard.  Many people were upset about the time wasted in this situation.  Since elites probably use lanyards for their cards, this waste time annoyed your most travelled passengers.  My concerns are the following are as follows:  Why on the first night of the cruise with many new passengers getting on the ship, why was the Passenger Service Desk so undermanned?  Why couldn’t a simple sign be put up on the counter advising the passengers of this situation and a box of the holders set by the sign?  No one could think “outside of the box” and come up with a simple solution the serves the passengers better and frees up the staff at the Customer Service Desk. 8.       The trivia was held in the Princess Live.  Since about 95% of the seats in this venue are bolted to the floor, it made it difficult for teams to work together.  You had to crane over the back of the chair I front of you to confer with team members.  Again, a poor design flaw to have the chairs bolted to the floor.  You were unable to make a team circle for trivia. 9.       The food in the dining room can be described as unexciting.  Many of the dishes were blaw and limited in flavor.  The menu repeated about every 7 days.  The number of selections has been reduced from the past.  Had a lamb dish every night when most people do not eat that much lamb.   The salmon and chicken breast on the every night menu was dry and flavorless. 10.   This supposed to be a new ship but varnish on the rail on our balcony was already deteriorated and needed to be revarnished.  Again, questioning the quality of construction and maintenance.  11.   I may be wrong but having every sign on the ship, even its name on the hull, being in both English and Chinese makes we wonder how much the Chinese government paid Princess for this.  Since the largest group on the ship were from Australia and this ship will be going to Australia in a few months for cruises there and New Zealand, they disliked the signage being in Chinese.  A lot of upset Australian passengers. 12.   The casino was a terrible design.  Because about 40% of the space has been dedicated to a VIP Casino, the regular Casino was shrunken.  Things were so tight with the slot machines being so close together, you were unable to walk down an aisle when some one was sitting in a chair at a machine.  Terrible design.  Again, virtually all machines were Chinese.  Most passengers disliked the machines. 13.   Only twice was there ever a show in the Vista Lounge.  Again, on past cruises there would be shows going on in both the Princess Theater and Vista Lounge.  Caused the Princess Theater to be overcrowded.  If you wanted to see the first show at the Princess Theater, you needed to get there at least 30 minutes ahead of the show.  Due to lack of shows in Vista Lounge, it appears Princess is cutting back on the entertainment budget.  Very disappointing. 14.   Chinese passengers represented at most 10% of the passengers but food on the dining room menu and the International Buffet had at least 40-50% of the menu designed for them.  Disappointing. 15.   The high end shops you put on the ship had limited traffic.  These are not the type shops the passengers were looking for.  The traditional cruise store was much smaller and had a reduced choice of inventory.  Poor marketing decision. 16.   The substitution of a French restaurant for Sabatini’s was odd.  The French restaurant appeared to be virtually empty every night. 17.   No gelato ice cream anymore.  Bad choice. We bought this cruise 15 mos ago while on another Princess Cruise. We were sold the Maiden Voyage on the new Princess Majestic. We were sold a 21 day Mediterranean Odyssey. Unfortunately, we were never informed that Princess moved up the sailing date and we were NOT on the maiden voyage, or that we were NOT on a 21 day cruise, but 3, 7-day cruises. And, believe me, there is a big difference. Additionally, there were no port talks or informational lectures. The person who was supposed to do them, could not. They apparently don't have a plan "B". They started the lecture series and port talks after we got off the ship which didn't do us any good. Many other well-traveled cruisers we spoke with were also disgusted with boring food, dirtiness of the cabins, poor entertainment, lack of lecture series and port talks. They plan on letting Princess know in their "after cruise comments". I'm sure you will be hearing from them, too. We expressed our shock in the "Bait and Switch" we were sold and the cruise we ended with. Customer service on board the Majestic referred us to Corporation. After over 20 cruises w/Princess, we felt we should have received compensation for our extreme disappointment and displeasure. We spent over $10,000. on the cruise. They offered us $250. per person credit on our next cruise w/Princess! What an insult! The Majestic Princess is for new, cruisers from Asia who don't know what real cruising is, not well-cruised (former) Princess customers. We cannot express how disappointed we are with their lack of concern for former loyal customers and their poor attempt and correcting their "Bait and Switch" on this cruise. Obviously, since we have been on many Oceania and Viking cruises, they will be our choices in the future. Read Less

This was not our first cruise; however, it was by far worse than we could have imagined. What was wrong? Cold food, lack of quality in the bedding, inconsiderate crew, and It just seemed like everything was filthy. We were always seeing crew members cleaning on prior Princess cruises. In contrast, we saw the same dirty spots remain from day to day on the Majestic Princess, whether it was on the floors, on a table, or on the walls. Plates in the buffet were never very clean, either. Princess lived off their reputation, rather than lived up to it with this ship. It was almost like they were short on entertainment, so they compensated by subjecting the entire ship to activities such as line-dancing lessons and a disc jockey in four-story atrium area. Overall, the cruise wasn't enjoyable, and we would rate it a "2" on a sale of 1 to 10 with 10 being the highest. Read Less

Chose this cruise as part of our European holiday just myself and my husband. Whilst the ship is beautiful in decor and very bling it was extremely disappointing. The entertainment was boring and terrible and the food was just as bad. I have cruised on Royal Carribean cruises and are of no comparison. I thought I would try a different cruise liner and unfortunately made a huge mistake. I was convinced and sold by the look of the ship on the website. Lifts were always overcrowded and took forever. I didn't have one decent meal everything tasted bland and awful. The only good food was in the Italian speciality restaurant but you had to pay extra! The staff were always in your face trying to sell you something... It was too much. Balconies very small and seemed like you always had to pay for something. I will stick to RC liner as they lead the way .... I could not fault RC and will stick to them in the future. Read Less

We traveled as a group of 8 to celebrate two milestone bdays of our parnets. What a terrible experience all around -- i'll go piece by piece but i would not recommend this trip to my worst enemy. Food -- absolute joke. Horizons court makes ponderosa look like a 5-star restaurants the food is tasteless and the ingredients are cheap. Soups are poured from heated plastic bags which look like they were rejected by costco. Their 'famous pizza' reminds me of a middle school cafeteria. The main ding rooms served terrible food with terrible ingredients. Princess cuts corners at every turn. The food simply inedible. Menus include a shrimp cocktail which took the word to shrimp to heart --- as in so tiny it required a magnifying glass. Fettucini alfredo --- kroger pasta with melted velveeta cheese - was a recommended dish. Beef is exclusively grade d and clearly princess has the same supplier as taco bell. What is truly said is we ate at both sabatinis and crowne grill -- the 'paid restaurants' and they were actually very good --- so clearly they know how to make good food -- and are just sticking it to passsengers at every other meal. The grill was heating frozen burgers and hot dogs. Gross. Service - unattentive, uncaring. Forget going the extra mile, these guys won't even go an extra step. Asking 'passenger services' to book a dinner reservation for us as we were going to be on an excursion the whole day was met with a --- please call this number and if they're not picking up thats not my problem. When they ran out of something at a restaurant, it was tough luck we've run out. Just a whatever experience. Entertainment -- i went in with low expectations and with the exception of one piano bar -- entertainment was lackluster. Decor - this ship looks like it hasn't been updated since the 1980s -- and even then it looks like they hired the worlds worst decorator. Cheesy does not begin to describe this --- just a horrible environment. Value --- the ship shold be called nickel and dime --- what a joke -- i mena just charge more for the cruise --- you sit down for your first meal or first show and its a sell sell sell -- buy this drink special, this coffee special. The art on board is true wal mart art -- and they are taking unreputed prints and tricking unknowing passengers into buying true garbage work. I honestly think this should be regulated --- as someone who invests in art -- i was appaled that these selling practices are legal or are endorsed by princess. Pictures -- total joke and pushy pushy pushy. When you got off a port in italy they had staff dressed up in aprons, with fake mustaches, holding empty boxes of pizza --- ahh im not that sensitive nor am i italian --- but that is incredibly racist/offensive no? Will never take a princess cruise again and will make it a personal mission to make sure everyone i know avoids this terrible company and experience. Learn from my mistakes and vacation elsewhere. My wife and I are aged 60 and love cruising having been on 14 cruises with various lines. We are out to enjoy ourselves, up early, stay up till the bars close and usually come home worn out, but not on this cruise. EMBARKATION.-----We could have no quibbles with this, from check in to boarding was fast and efficient. CABIN-----We had a balcony cabin on Deck 11, it was very nice although it had not been cleaned properly, I found a part used packet of Tamiflu tablets along with some used tissue paper just under the bed. Its not what you want to see but a call to house keeping and a word with the room steward sorted it out. Dining room, buffet and specialty restaurants-----------Food quality has never been a problem for us on any cruise line, it varies ofcourse from ship to ship but we found the found the food in all the outlets to be fine, but nothing more, certainly no WOW factor that used to be the norm. The exception to this was the specialty restaurants which we used 4 times, they were excellent in both quality and service. ENTERTAINMENT-----------This for us is were our cruise experience took a nose dive. The quality of some of the performers was without doubt the worst we have ever seen, so poor in fact that some of the bar staff passed comment about it. The stage productions were a mixed bag, as they usually are, some very good and some poor. The best venue on the ship is without doubt Club Fusion, very classy. Unfortunately it was never used once for live entertainment, it was set up as a sports bar. They did have music on in there but would you believe it was archive clips of tv performances from yesteryear. On most nights there was interactive shows like the Marriage Game or Whos the Liar along with trivia games and quizzes and yes you've guessed it, at evening prime time. I tackled the cruise director Dan Styne about the quality of the entertainment and he agreed that it was poor but it wasn't his fault as he could only work with what was given. As a parting shot he then said that if we thought it was bad so far then we see should see the comedy magician Thom scheduled for that evening. We did and it was cringe making, simply horrendous. The result of all this was boredom, bored for the first time ever on a cruise ship.We went to bed early on several nights, again a first for us. Our bar bill was a fraction of what it normally is! DISEMBARKATION--------- We left the ship in Venice, every thing ran smoothly and in a timely manner. SUMMARY-----------We booked this cruise based on a previous experience with Princess having sailed on the 2nd voyage of the CROWN some years back. When looking to book a cruise there are two things of paramount importance to us---- Itinerary and good entertainment. We presumed the entertainment would be of a good standard based on our previous experience, we were wrong and it ruined our cruise. Its obvious to me that Princess are cost cutting and we will never return. Read Less

The information on the web site and brochure states :" The comfortable elegance of a Princess Cruise vacation offers everything you could need from a wide variety of freshly prepared cuisine to activities for age, style or mood" I think not The food was one of the main areas that was of disappointment Upon embarkation, we were ushered into the buffet dining room, Horizon Court Absolutely starving from a morning of travelling, we were looking forward to eating a good hearty lunch. I noticed roughly just 10 trays of hot food, and on closer inspection I could believe what I saw. Absolutely everything was pretty much was deep fried. Clearly all food was catered for Americans. An example of the food was "grits" (I don't even know what that is!) and Chicago veal The items that I ate were not good. The quality was poor and I could only eat a few mouthfuls Your website that that the food is "Fresh, favorful cuisine cooked with passion and care" Rather upset by our experience at that point, I said to my husband that that we will try the other dining options during the rest of the cruise, my experience of them is as follows: Prego Pizzeria Pizzas were below average, certainly not Naples style. We have stayed in Italy on previous holidays and there was certainly no comparison Trident Grill Very disappointing, staff in this area were actually quite rude and unfriendly Burgers were cooked as you wait, well I saw my burger cooked from raw to frozen in about 2 minutes before it was slopped on my plate with a weird shiny roll (there is absolutely no way that their bread is made fresh on the premises) I had to spit my burger out after a bite, it was awful I did also try a piece of chicken, well that was unedible as well Breakfasts Breakfasts were catered for the Americans, with all American food. Poor selection and quality No toast They did not omelettes while you wait, but the chefs were rude and service was slow Main restaurant That leads me on the main restaurant, with the lack of food we had eaten by dinner time we were both starving by dinnertime at around 6.30pm, so proceeded to the main dining room (Portofino dining room) The restaurant was really quiet at this point, and as we were ushered to a table, we were sat by the waiter's station right next to the bins. The restaurant was almost empty!! This actually happened in the two occasions we went there. As for the menu, where was the steaks, where was the lobster? (we later found out you only get this if you dine at the Crown Grill restaurant-which you pay extra for) Entertainment Entertainment included: Bingo Movies under the stars-Barry Manilow in concert No on board parties Anyway, I could go on, but I have to say that Royal Carribean are the best cruise liner for entertainment and high quality food Do NOT cruise with Princess Read Less

Where to begin? The embarkation was easy and pleasant. I loved Rome and traveled to the ship by myself from termini station..it was only a couple euros for a one way train ticket. My husband and I opted for anytime dining thinking this would give us more flexibility. The dining service was slipshod at best and disgusting at worst. The waitstaff seemed untrained and were entirely unreliable. Coffee was brought after dinner only if we asked a few times and after 10 or 15 minutes the cream might or might not arrive. The food was a ghastly mix of microwaved fare. A T.V. dinner would have been better then that slop the served us. The buffet food was decent but rather bland and predictable. One day they had sushi which was a nice treat. The main reason we took the cruise was because of Pompeii and Herculaneum. We both love ancient history and could not wait to wonder through the ruins. The over priced excursion to Herculaneum consisted of a rushed trip through the ruins and then on to a cheesy cameo factory for an hour or two. We were given the hard sell on these over priced trinkets but refused to buy anything. I would strongly advise anyone considering this trip to book their own excursions or you will end up in a cameo factory. We felt so cheated and disgusted. One the ship days the chaise hogs arrived in the early morning hours to stake their claims. The would drop a book or towel and then wander off for hours. We complained but it was to no avail. The entertainment was so horrendous that it was simply unbelievable....like some bad high school musical gone awry. None of it was professional in any capacity and unbearable unless you were drunk or in a coma. I could go on and on but I wont..just grateful to disembark (which went very smoothly) and get off that ship! This was truly the worst cruise imaginable. This was my third Princess cruise but NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!! I forgot to mention the enrichment guy on board. He was the bright spot of the trip. Every cruise ship should have such a person. He was filled with information on all the ports and available at the dock for questions when we went ashore. Read Less
