Our first Princess cruise-a little disappointing.

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Crown Princess

We have sailed on Norwegen, Holland America and Oceania., Chose this cruise based upon time of year and origin and final ports in the Mediterranean. The stateroom with balcony and the E-Z airfare were very affordable. Embarkation and disembarkation were very organized and well done. The public areas of the ship frequently were just a little smelly with sewer smell and on the promenade ...

Could do so much better

1. We had booked a cabin and the pictures on the web site did not show that this would have pull down beds stowed and a column in the cabin this greatly reduces the limited space and we should have been made aware of this when we booked back in February 2107. We could have then made an informed decision on the cabin instead of me keep hitting the bed that stuck out from the wall with my shoulder ...

We chose this trip due to the itinerary. The ports were amazing and the rooms and beds and service were well above average. Unfortunately the entertainment was well below sub par. Nothing to do most of the sea days and cruise Director was almost never around. We have been on 5 other cruise lines with well over 150 days at sea and this was the worst entertainment we have ever had. The itinerary was ...

Honeymoon on the Mediterranean

We chose this cruise because of the value and the incredible destinations. Princess offers some of the best destinations at sea. We had a great trip and I will say that Princess treated us far better than any other cruise line I've been on. They actually upgraded us to a balcony room free of charge upon arrival as a honeymoon gift. We also were granted dining credits and $100 onboard spending ...

This was our 3rd time on the Crown Princess and this time was very disappointing. The ship seems to be showing it's age. One entire bank of elevators was down for repairs the whole trip, the vibrations in the dining room was so bad, it threatened to shake things off the table and we had never experienced such slow service. In fact, our first stateroom A614 constantly vibrated. It was hard to ...

Embarkation and disembarcation were the best we have experienced - we arrived early in Rome and expected to wait an hour for our time slot - but walked right on - 15-20 minutes - tops. Food was not so good - either in the buffet or in the dining room (we tried both MichaelAngelo and DaVinci rooms. The Crown Grill was great - as those premium dining options normally are. Teh burger joint on ...

We chose this cruise from recommendations from family and friends. Overall very disappointing. The customer service was poor and many staff members were in training. The restaurant food was average after being on other cruise ships that were serving high quality meals. We were celebrating my husbands 50th and our 20th wedding anniversary. My brother had arranged through princess for there to be a ...

Magnificent ship with poor service and lousy food.

Itinerary and timing were the prime reasons for this trip. Food: Lacked variety; lacked care or attention to detail. Examples: smoked salmon was served in the mornings with salt-cured capers—not the vinegar-preserved variety that complements the fish. French onion soup lacked herbs and depth of flavor—not even a pinch of thyme or a drop of white wine—the Soup was more akin to brown water ...

Nice ship / dining is so-so

The ship is fairly new and looks to be in great shape. The staff were fairly attentive. Entertainment was mixed. Music and dance were pretty good, but the comic and magician were so so. We liked the live music in the common areas of the ship. The food was good at Sabatini's restaurant and also at Alfredo's. The pizza by the pool was also great. Embark / dis-embark was really fast. Tenders worked ...

Loved the Mediterranean. Loved the ship. Not happy with almost everything else

This was our 9th cruise with Princess and we have never complained about anything but there's always a first time. Food wasn't very good in taste or variety. Ship was often dirty. It always needed vacuuming and dusting. Light fixtures had 1/2" of dust on them, even in the dining rooms. Our cabin steward was awful. Room was dirty. Bed linens had holes in them. Often we didn't have ice. ...
