Sailing the Panama canal was on my father's bucket list, so we selected this sailing to do it as a family group. We had several people in our party with dietary restrictions that were discussed with the sales rep before purchase, and we were assured they would be accommodated, and a high level of cuisine provided. This was not so. The vegan and gluten sensitive person in our party went thru a ...
Itinerary was what attracted us and we were happy with each destination except for the Mt. Fuji tour which only took us to the gift shop on Mt. Fuji rather than further up the mountain. The ship is dated and could use a thorough cleaning. Princess' business model seems to be to nickel and dime you at every opportunity which leaves a very poor impression overall.
Crew was really ...
Diamond Princess on the Japanese route is always my choice as it has the Japanese style of decoration such as the water kettle inside the cabin that you can make your own tea. Inside the dinning rooms you can always have Japanese style food. I particularly love the traditional Japanese breakfast in the dining room.
The port facility always arrange good shuttle bus service (used to be free ...
This was our first Princess cruise, and though the crew did an amazing job making our dining experiences wonderful, I feel like the activities could have been better and the land tours could have been MUCH better!
We had 4 cabins with 2 people in each, and our travel agent arranged adjoining balcony cabins where they partitions could be removed, so we could go cabin-to-cabin easily. That was ...
We went on a 7-day Pacific Coastal cruise on the Royal Princess ship on November 9, 2019. It was round-trip from Los Angeles, CA with port stops in San Francisco, Monterey, San Diego, and Ensenada, Mexico. The entire sailing was very smooth, the waters were generally calm during the entire 7-day cruise. The food in the anytime dining room Sabatini and the buffet food court Horizons tasted ...
We will not cruise on a Royal Class ship again because there are too many passengers and the cabins and balconies are so much smaller than on smaller ships. The public areas were too crowded. We spent so much time waiting for elevators. Passengers were not very considerate of those with disabilities. They would cut in front of those in wheel chairs or with walkers to get into the elevator before ...
We decided to go 3 days prior to departure. No problem at all with check in. Traveling with 2 seniors. They do not have the medallion system working as well as it should. It was also useless for the seniors who are not into technology or smart phones. That did become an issue. Princess needs a backup plan for those seniors.
We asked for no down feathers in the room and for 3 days we ...
I like the southern Islands, and the weather is great this time of year. The boarding was great, we went right on the ship at 11am. The Crown is a bit aged, and did wobble a bit, even though seas were not rough. I was not impressed with desserts on ship especially at lunch buffet. A sheet cake or brownie would have been far better than what they were serving. I was not impressed with having to ...
I wanted to experience a new ship. I don’t like to be negative but I really wasn’t impressed! Nice staff but I had issues with the television and air conditioning unit. Signal on tv was lost constantly. I think the entertainment was pretty weak and wasn’t really age appropriate. Two of the saunas we’re inoperable and it left over crowding in the remaining it seemed that some staff weren’t very ...
This is where it goes a little off course---so to speak. Do to this being the first time the Sapphire did this route. Well the weather dictated the what, when and how the cruise would unfold. We wanted and did the cruise for 2 reasons: To see the Eiffel Tower ---weather made us bypass that port---the the Vatican---Oh guess what "closed" on our tour date.
That made our trip of a lifetime ...
