-Don't try to take a quick inland tour before your cruise. Do what we did and take at least a week to see inland Alaska (ride the Wilderness Express on the Alaska Railroad! You will thank me later!) Overall a positive experience. But 3 of the 4 ports were Carnival-owned, meaning not much to see other than beaches. No dining rooms open for lunch on at-port days though the buffet is.
