The chance to see cities such as St Petersburg, Berlin and Oslo was a draw card. We had several days in Copenhagen before departure and this is worth it. Very smooth process for embarking the ship- good service and quick luggage delivery. The food was available very quickly and without a ripple the ship departs port. Interior room is spacious and the bedding is lux. Amazing pillows. Service on the ship is excellent- friendly and genuine. Food is always good- variety and options. Cabins, halls and all areas were spotlessly clean and polished. Lovely travel photos along the hallways. Take your swimmers for a hot spa on deck after a day of tours. Some of the best shore excursions- Hermitage and Palaces, train to Berlin, Tallin by hop on bus. Good service when cancelling one day trip. Honest service when returning my lost item. Smoothest sea the whole trip-not a ripple. Can not recommend the ship and the cruise destination enough. We had the Lido deck 16 which was so handy to all areas. Love Princess Cruises Read Less

This is our fifth cruise on this particular ship. Grand Princess is one of our favorite ships for the following reasons (in no particular order): WRAP AROUND PROMENADE - We walk around the promenade daily for exercise, and later, for digestion. COVERED POOL AND CONSERVATORY - The ping pong tables are actually usable, without wind tunnel. The shared puzzle area is out of the way. The covered pool is nice place when weather is too hot or cold for us in the open air pool. NICE GYM PLACEMENT - The gym machines look out from the 15th level. Noted many more cruisers utilizing gym than on previous cruises. Always full with very little trickling-off as cruise neared end. Nice view. Going to be sorry to see this ship move. Add to that: SAN FRANCISCO HOME PORT - Convenient home port with round trip cruises. BEST EMBARK/DEBARK EXPERIENCE - New Pier 27 is one of the best with always friendly, efficient staff. Many things to like in food service as well. This was one of the best cruise experiences we have had: Food and service in Davinci MDR was wonderful. I heeded our waiters' (Norman) recommendations for the most part and we were never disappointed by the food flavor. Norman was attentive and entertaining. My fall-back is the always good, daily available salmon, if the nights menu items are unappealing. I found the food in MDR better than the Crown Grill experience we had one time on this cruise. We were fortunate to have wonderful dinner-mates at our table-for-eight. We visited the buffet for breakfast and lunch. I ordered omelets daily and they were done well each time with a generous amount of ingredients. We have, on past cruises, found MDR breakfast better than the Buffet. This time we ate breakfast in the buffet, exclusively. The bacon was mostly crispy...a plus. We ate lunch at venues throughout the ship. The soups were a favorite. The ship is getting old, no doubt. However, everything worked for us. Even the hinges in our cabin were silent. I get up earlier than my spouse, generally getting out for exercise and fresh air between 5 and 6. I never woke my spouse on these early exits from the cabin. Also, noted the upholstery in places was new...particularly in the Vista Lounge. New plastic, green chairs in the open air pool area are more comfortable than the wicker ones in the covered pool area. One glitch happened with the propulsion system encountered a problem that delayed out approach to Ensenada. The 30 minute delay was unnoticeable. The ship stayed an additional hour in port to accommodate those going ashore. We use internet sparingly. Internet service seemed better this trip. Of course, can't be compared to home wifi. Service dropped once in 10 uses. Took one Princess tour from Hilo. Nice experience there. We generally do our own thing, having used near port, car rental services in the past. Stayed on the ship in Ensenada. Overall...very pleasant cruise. Read Less

This was our first cruise and Wow what a cruise. We flew into San Francisco from Florida a couple of nights before the cruise. We stayed near Fisherman's Wharf which made it very easy the morning of the cruise to get to the port. We went through security which was so easy (nothing like the airport). The Embarkation process was smooth as well. We were not able to settler into our rooms for about an hour though, which was okay because we were entertained, fed and were able to have a drink and watch us take sail. How beautiful going under the Golden Gate Bridge. Amazing experience. Our Stateroom was perfect for us. We had a balcony and can not imagine going on a cruise without one. Waking up to the amazing scenery and hearing the ocean at night was scerene. Dennis our Steward took such good care of us. We didn't want for anything. There were choreographed shows, piano pain, folk singer, bingo, trivia, karaoke, amongst so many other fun events. Kevin our cruise director and his great team kept us entertained. Joey the "Piano man" is so very talented. The dining in all the dining rooms were delicious. However the Horizon Court buffet had variety but everything from breakfast, lunch and dinner were bland. The baked goods were dry and tasteless. There are two pizzarias the first is on the Lido deck pool side that is pizza under hot lamps and taste like pizza under hot lamps. The second pizzaria on deck 7 with a brick oven and freshly backed looked and smelt delicious. Getting a seat was impossible (they were always busy) and you have to be sitting in the dining room to order from them. It would be nice if there was a to go option. The International fast food had a limited variety. the sandwiches and salads were good but baked goods were dry. Coffee was great though. The Crown grill was very good and Sabitini's was superb. The shore excursions were so wonderful. We had a great time. The train ride to the Yukon in Skagway was filled with scenery from a picture. This was our favorite excursions. My husband and I prepaid as much as possible including gratuities and gave additional grattuities as we thought individuals deserved. You can also prepay Excursions, photos, drink packages (which I suggest). Even pre-pay for ship spending. Next time I would pre pay ship spending. Read Less

My husband and I loved the Alaska ports and the sea days. The staff and crew were very accommodating. The food was very good, also. We enjoyed the entertainment and lectures about Alaska. The highlight of our cruise was our vow renewal with Captain Tuvo. Our cabin was nice and Madee our steward did an excellent job. We found embarkation to be a complicated process. One thing princess could improve on is to have more of a variety of food in the Horizon Buffet. It was good but not much of a variety. Also, it takes too long from start to finish in the main dining room to eat. The different kind of music that was played around the ship was pleasant. Matt Baxter, the guitar player and vocalist, was fantastic. This was our first cruise with Princess and we would most likely sail with them again. Debarkation was much easier than Embarkation. It would be great if karaoke was offered every day. Read Less

For our 50th anniversary, we took a 12-day Princess cruise to Alaska originating in Los Angeles. From the moment we stepped aboard the 5-star Ruby Princess, we were surrounded by helpful, smiling faces of staff. Our balcony room gave us a wonderful view and fresh air throughout our cruise. The bed was SO comfortable with cozy Egyptian linens. Our cabin Steward, Christopher, was so helpful and attentive. The ship holds about 3500 guests and about 1500 very service oriented staff- which is a nice size and ratio. The restaurant meals were fresh and fabulous with very attentive waiters. There were fresh food options 24- hours a day! We enjoyed the flexibility of "anytime" dining. The entertainment was nonstop. We especially enjoyed the nightly musical shows in the Princess Theater. They have very talented performers- bands, singers and dancers. The different lounges also had good entertainment and often dancing. The casino is spacious and has lots of variety, including blackjack tournaments which are really fun! The gym provides nice machines with an amazing view! We especially enjoyed the tram excursion in Juneau and the train in Scagway. We plan to fly to Anchorage on our next Alaskan trip to explore the more northern regions and to do a land tour to Denali. We highly recommend Princess cruises without reservation! We look forward to our next Princess cruise!! The 12 days flew by!! Read Less

Our room was clean and the turndown service was great. There were chocolates on the pillows every night. The cabin had an ample amount of drawers and 2 big screen TV’s We got clean towels several times during the day .My husband uses a medical device and an extension cord was provided for him right away. The food and the wait staff was outstanding. The choice of food venues is amazing. From casual to formal dining. The fresh pizza is outstanding and the wine selection is wide and delicious. Have been on this ship 3 times before this. First time in a suite which was just wonderful. The crew was so friendly and they went out of their way to make things just right. Club Class dining was really special. You can show up whenever you want and you are seated immediatel by the hostess. The extra attention by the waiter, assistant waiter and the MaitreD was appreciated and the special dishes prepared were very enjoyable. It is going to be difficult to go back to dining in the MDR after being spoiled like we were. Princess Cays is always a great Port to visit. A great couple of hours swimming and relaxing on the beach plus enjoying the barbecue lunch, really kicked off the start of a great cruise. The live shows were shows we had seen before, but high tech lighting sound that have been added really enhanced them. Well done Princess! We have never cruised with Princess but we liked the itinerary to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We were not disappointed! This is a fantastic cruise line. The embarkation was flawless. Our stateroom was ready upon arrival. Everything around the ship was clean always. The entertainment was fantastic. We kept busy going from one venue to the next, not to miss anything. Our favorite was Project 5. They interacted with the crowd and were great musicians. They dedicated a song to us for our anniversary. We were so impressed with the buffet line! So clean and not crowded. Never have seen that on any other ship. We like the any time dining and was seated with a fabulous server, Hardika. He made certain that our dining experience was over the top. The food was good but not fabulous in the Michelangelo. But we were never hungry! We met some of the nicest people on the cruise. The clientele was great. We tried to participate in as much as we could but there was plenty that we just couldn't do. Our room was always clean and in order. The food areas were always clean. The Salty Dog had great food, great pizza. Plenty of pools so there was plenty of shade and room in the hot tub and pool. Easy to get around the ship. Drinks were good. Ports were fantastic! It was so much fun. We will definitely go on another Princess Cruise. Disembarkation was a breeze. Very well organized by all. We were very impressed with all of it. Read Less

We have found a new love for cruising with Princess, and we will not go back to Carnival. This is our second cruise with Princess. the Regal Princess is elegant and sophisticated, tablecloths in main dining room EVERY night! Princess is what Carnival used to be when we first started cruising. Princess has fun activities and parties but they are not wild drunken events you will find on a Carnival ship. 2nd time on this ship. It was great. Western and Eastern Caribbean. Both 7 day sections had an age range from mid 30's to mid 60's. Not the kind of ship for under 18, not much to do for that age range. But plenty to do for everyone else. You can hide yourself in total isolation away from crowds to submerging into non stop activities. Anytime Dining was rarely a wait, the Horizon Court buffet always had a great selection. My favorite was the suchi bowls. Lunch time they had noodle bowls. Ate all venues at least once except Sabatinis Italian. Staff was great. Our cabin steward was like stealth, we forgot something in the cabin, and went back 20 minutes later and the cabin was already immaculate. Went to some shows, all were good, but, the comedian was the best. Filled every venue he performed at for 2 nights. Though these cruises were sold out, the ship never seemed crowded. Sea days were the busiest around the pool but if you looked, I always found a deck chair. My wife and I couldn't understand why so many people were on their phones nonstop. Your on vacation people. The medallion that you use to pay and get in your cabin works great even though we didnt bother with downloading everything before our cruise. One scary thing about downloading all the apps on your phone is you can download the casino and play slots with your money anywhere on the ship. And you use your medallion in the casino and just charge it to the cabin. Make sure to control yourself, or your trip could get pricey. The ship was heading to drydock after our cruise to get some upgrades and fix an engine problem that would make the back of the ship vibrate slightly at full speed. Something that has lasted 3 years or so. The only bad thing was we had to leave. Going through withdrawal as my room isn't cleaned twice a day. Read Less

We arrived the day before, choosing a hotel with free transferts from airport and to port. But, they changed the rules before we gat there, so now they charge 10$/pers to port... a taxi cost 25$. We were 4 adults, so we chose the taxi. Embarcation was fast (we are Platinium) and they offer cake and coffe while we wait in a private lounge. The ship, our cabin, dining venues and especialy the service was wonderful! Entertainment was good when the dancers and singers were giving the show, but stand-ups were skeaking too fast for those who were not english speaking (native). Ports : we had been to most of them before, so we just walked around in the neighbourhood, except for Dominica, where we took a tour by Princess (good idea, since it was late and they waited for us!). We were surprised by 2 other family members who joined us for the cruise! They managed to find out our cabin number and booked the cabin just beside us! We then opened the balcony doors to have a 3 cabin balcony... very nice! (for confidentiality... that is another story!) We did the same cruise last year and truly enjoyed both cruises. Read Less

We chose this cruise on the Golden Princess to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary. Our balcony cabin(A425) was comfortable, roomy and very clean. The bed was very comfortable and the linen was clean and fresh. The ship has aged and there are matinence issues but over all it is a lovely ship to sail in. The art deco features are beautiful and there was some quiet places to go to when needed. The entertainment was brilliant. Loved all the shows except one. This one was not as classy as the others. The Princess Theater needs a little vamp up especially the seating but it was comfortable. We had two dress up nights where we ate in the dinning room. The service there was good and it was nice to dine with other passengers and to be waited on but to be honest and in my opinion the food was better in the buffet/self serve. There was more viariety and heaps of it. The deserts were to die for and the service was excellent. Getting on and of the ship for shore excursions was well organized and good info sessions on each port was presented to passengers before each stop. This made it very easy to get around and what to expect. one negative thing that really annoyed me was that the sitting area in the Atrium was always full. We only sat there once during the whole trip as every other time there were no spare seating. I think some passengers sat there all day and didn't want to give up their seats. The onboard activities was very good and well planned. This was the last trip to New Zealand by the Golden Princess and she did herself proud. Read Less

Itinerary was one of the main reasons to go on the Caribbean Prince. We have already cruised on this ship and loved it. We were celebrating a few things. My wife's Birthday, my 70th Birthday, and our 25th Weddings Anniversary. First time getting a larger suite, mainly for the size of the room and balcony. Was a little disappointed in the suite, because of the noise, no sun, sleeper sofa, and closet door making so much noise. Also my wife got her finger slammed in the door. Loved San Juan going to the Bacardi Rum distillery was the best your ever. Wish we had more time there to see more of New San Juan. The staff and service was great. We did not go to Machu Pichu because it would have taken 2 days out of our cruise. We would do this cruise again. The Star Princess ship was a little older, but well maintained. It was to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary and was a perfect choice. We were married in NZ so it felt right cruising back on the fabulous Majestic Princess. We weren’t disappointed, the food, service and entertainment was first class, just loved it. At night we dined in the Allegro dining room and it was the highlight of our day, the food and waiter service. We then went to the show of the night, not to be missed, great entertainment. The Hollywood Pool Club was such a relaxing area during the day, a heated indoor pool and spa, pleasant ambience to read etc. On our anniversary, balloons and a notice was put on our cabin door. We booked in to Harmony, a special restaurant that night and enjoyed it so much, wow. The waiters presented us with a little chocolate cake with a candle and sang Happy Anniversary. Everyone was so helpful on the ship, nothing was a problem, everything was so clean and we felt safe. For us, the cruise ports were all interesting, the weather was perfect and we enjoyed our shore excursions. Probably the highlights, and there were many, were the Sounds, Taieri Railway, Akaroa, Te Papa, Waiheke Island and the Bay of Islands, the Hole in the Rock excursion. The Art Deco in Napier we loved and all the volunteers who were there to meet the ship in every port made it special. I hadn’t been to Mt Maunganui and Tauranga, loved it. Very impressed with the embarkation and disembarkation, went like clockwork, congratulations to all involved. A really memorable cruise, we will be back! Read Less

While we thoroughly enjoyed our cruise on the Regal in the Baltic, and the Royal in the Mediterranean, the addition of an enclosed conservatory on the Majestic, with full length floor to ceiling windows, allowed us to enjoy this trip even more. New Zealand, especially in Milford Sound can be very cold, even in March, and being able to enjoy the views from the warm conservatory, was a highlight. It is an adults only area, and is a quiet space to read, or play board games, as well as relax on comfy sofas or swim in the undercover pool. We were blessed with good weather, so were able to enter all the ports and enjoy all the excursions of some unique destinations. We enjoyed traditional dining, as well as the noodle bar (yummy broth soups), international cafe, buffets, Crown Grill, Le Mer (french). All meals were of a high standard. The service was impeccable, and the staff could not do enough to ensure we were well looked after. Even finding us at the back of the Lido deck, watching a movie, and going off to find some blankets for us, in case it became cool during the evening. We thought out obstructed view deluxe balcony stateroom might not compare to our previous mini suites, but it was very roomy, with a sofa and a balcony and the obstruction was only partial. Housekeeping staff were friendly and efficient, which makes all the difference when living in a small space for 2 weeks, to come back to a tidy and clean space. Sydney is a busy place to embark, due to limited space, but it didn't take very long to go through passport/security. Our accommodation, booked through Princess, was very nice, and in a great location for sightseeing, in the Rocks/Circular Quay. It was super nice having the Princess Team pick us up from the airport. Highly recommended. The Majestic is a very large ship, so my only recommendation to those intending to travel on it, is to do your research and read the daily newsletter, to keep on top of the many options available for being entertained. It would be easy to miss some outstanding talent/activities. The Princess Theater Shows were of a very high standard, and it was worth getting to the theater a little early to ensure a seat. The dance party nights (Beatles and Abba) were fabulous fun. Even those using walkers made sure they got up to dance and wiggle the night away. There are many choices for excursions. We loved the sheep farm visit/Christchurch, Speights Brewery in Dunedin, Napiers fertile fruit/wine growing tours, Wellington wharf and Cable car ride/museum, Auckland for shopping, Mt Manganui itself is beautiful, if you don't want to go to Rotorua, Bay of Islands /Waitangi Treaty grounds visit was exceptional, as we had a Maori guide. We loved being on the ocean for a total of 10 days. Really the only thing disappointing was that we were not able to get off the ship at the stop on Maui as it was by tender boat and my husband is handicapped so he was not able to get on the tender. However, we were able to watch whales and dolphins and seals from the ship which was wonderful. We received wonderful service from the staff on the ship and were always treated with extreme care and concern. The entertainment was great. The shows were Vegas quality. My husband has cruised on Princess once before (about 12 years ago) and he really wanted to go with them again. I wanted to be able to drive to the departure port so we chose a 7-day California Coastal, round trip from LA. It was just the two of us ages 45 and 46. Left the kids at home since they don't appreciate cruising (which is fine with me as it's much cheaper that way!). After reading many reviews on the aft balconies, I chose cabin B754 which we loved. We did get some movement when we were out at sea but we found it soothing. I chose Baja deck so we would be neither above or below any public areas and it was nice and quiet. Sometimes we did hear "ship sounds" but nothing that was ever a problem. The cabin was adequate and the balcony was larger than I expected, which was a nice surprise. It had two chairs and a small table. We didn't use it for dining or anything- just sat in the chairs (or more frequently, stood at the railing) and enjoyed the ocean. The shower is miniscule! I understand this is the norm on Princess. We were scheduled to visit San Francisco, Monterey, San Diego, and Ensenada. Unfortunately, we were unable to visit Monterey because the seas were a bit too rough, making tendering unsafe. Too bad able that as that was the port I was most interested in. We left Monterey that morning, spent the night and part of the next morning at Sea, and docked in San Diego half a day early (noon) so we actually overnighted in SD. Overall I loved the ship and the decor (classy- the Piazza I thought was beautiful) although the constant art displays that took up all of Explorer's Lounge on several occasions was a bit much. Does anyone buy art on a cruise? I guess they must or the ships wouldn't keep devoting that much time and space and effort to it. Buffet food was not very flavorful IMO but we very much enjoyed the MDR three nights and chose to try Crown Grill and SHARE on two other nights. Overall very good. SHARE is a more adventurous menu and I loved the decor but it's high up aft and there was a constant vibration and an intermittent high pitched rattle/squeak in the ceiling that really detracted from the experience. Hope they get it fixed soon. Didn't care for the Main Offenders band or the Magic to Do production show but AJ Jamal (guest comedian) was pretty good... especially his bit about the showers on board! All staff with the exception of the young lady in the soft serve ice cream area were friendly. All in all, we were very pleased and we are already looking at another Princess cruise, hopefully to Hawaii this time. Read Less

My wife and I needed some time away after a very stressful couple of years. We heard amazing things about cruises and had high expectations going in. We did not expect those expectations to be exceeded! But they were. An amazing experience that we will definitely be doing again. We were expecting to have mainly relaxation with lots of reading and time laying back relaxing, but instead found ourselves thoroughly entertained with all the on board activities and entertainment staff. The atmosphere is contagious and everyone is having a good time. The food is incredible and the staff are so friendly and helpful. It's something that needs to be experienced to be understood. The destinations we went to were great and it was so easy to get on and off the ship. It was like the ship was our hotel room and we could go exploring each destination and just return once we were done! Read Less

Everything was incredible!! They make you feel like family and you never want to leave the ship! The food was world class and the service on the ship was otherworldly, the drinks on board were incredible and allowed you to venture into a whole other culture and a whole other world of excitement! It is a wonderful mix of people and every passenger on board was so fun and excited and so sweet to everyone else. The stage shows that they put on our like a broadway musical and the performers can sing with the best of them! They have a full range of things for you to do whether it’s hanging by the 5 pools and jacuzzi’s they have, learning about the many secrets of pirate treasure, world class shopping with incredible deals, or anything else you can think of, there is never ever a dull moment. Everything was so smooth especially with their new medallion you use for everything!! It is the best thing out there!! 100% recommend!!! Read Less

We chose this 7 day cruise as it fit in with our March Break schedule. Since my husband and I both work for a school board, we wanted a quieter, more adult only cruise to relax and unwind. We love your hashtag # comebacknew as Princess definitely delivers. The ports of call suited our need to explore the area before returning back to the ship. Princess Cays was a perfect beach day. A beautiful little spot with a bbq lunch and bar service. We rented a clamshell for some much needed shade. The anytime dining had a great selection that accommodated our vegetarian lifestyle. Friendly wait staff and delicious food. The best creme caramel I have ever had. Sabatini’s delivered a rich and delicious multi course meal with vegetarian options as well. We truly felt spoiled. The adult only pools offered a quieter spot for us to cool off from suntanning and reading. I truly enjoyed 3 treatments at The Lotus Spa while I was aboard The Caribbean Princess. I almost fell asleep. A great way to relax and unwind. We’ve already left a deposit and are planning our next Princess Cruise. Read Less
