Cruising is not for us.

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Discovery Princess

We had never cruised before this trip. We have many friends that cruise regularly, some with over 30 cruises. Several of our friends cruised on this ship in the past year and a half. They convinced us this was the ship for us. Why this ship? We love live music. This cruise had 2 piano players, 2 bands, one solo guitarist, 2 violinists, and a jazz trio. The music was great. The jazz trio, ...

A Cheapskate Tries a Repositioning Cruise

What year is this cruise? People are eating rice pilaf and drinking Blue Hawaiians, the comedian’s routine is shockingly racist, and the big musical revue is a nearly all-white salute to Motown. I halfway expected to run into cigarette machine. I am old, but Gen Z: I was appalled on your behalf. The fact that the buffet has a vegan section and there’s a nightly LGBTQ meet-up reminded me it was ...

5 Star Service - 4 Star Maintenance & Packages Presence

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Sapphire Princess

Sapphire was built in 2004 and refurbished in 2018. It hold ups to 2670 passengers and up to 1100 crew. That's a nice crew to passenger ratio. This smaller ship really provides wonderful service. We took a repositioning cruise from Vancouver to Los Angeles from October 8th-15th, 2023. I would have given them a 4 1/2 stars, but that wasn't a choice. The reality is even though, they ...

Great Despite Food Reservation Fiasco

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Majestic Princess

This is our second trip on Majestic in two years; the first of which was to New Zealand. THE GOOD The good news is that the overall energy level has much improved since our lethargic NZ experience. The cruise director and his staff did a great job of keeping us all engaged and there was fun enjoyed by all. We had a mini suite which was clean and perfectly managed by our steward, Aldwin. ...

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Emerald Princess

We live in Southern California and got a great deal on a balcony room and booked this trip prior to my husbands unexpected quadruple bypass. We didn't cancel the cruise in hopes that my husband was well enough to go. It turns out 7 weeks post surgery we made it on the cruise, as my husband wanted to gain weight at the all you can eat buffets and fine dining's on this cruise and he did. First ...

First cruise on Princess (all prior cruise experience has been Holland America). I was asked to accompany my sister and her husband on their first-ever cruise (they picked this one). Pacific Coastal cruise San Diego/San Francisco/Astoria, OR/Victoria/Vancouver, BC. I understand that for security reasons my full legal name - as on my Passport, etc. - must be available to Princess for TSA ...

80's Themed Cruise

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Discovery Princess

This was was the second of our B2B cruises. When we originally booked it, it was not a themed cruise so we didn't actually get into it as some of the others aboard. Since we had booked the trip before this & we came all the way from Florida figured we might as well take both since it was our 1st time going out of LA. Embarcation was very fast and easy. Cabin was Penthouse Suite R6** midship ...

Discovery Princess, a fine ship to return to cruising

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Discovery Princess

After 3 years finally a return to cruising and Discovery Princess didn't disappoint. Overall an excellent cruise with a few minor blips but that is to be expected. Embarkation: We were in the green lane and had an 11:30 boarding time and had no problems getting on the ship. We were probably on board by 11:45. Dining: We ate in the Ketchikan dining room and the food there was ...

ROYAL Princess - not quite up to "Royal Class" expectation

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Royal Princess

User Avatar

We have sailed over 300 days on Princess ships and chose to take this as the Royal Princess is a "Royal Class Princess ship" sailing out of San Francisco. No question it is a beautiful ship, spotlessly clean. We had had earlier experience in 2022 on Regal Princess in Europe and expected the same standard on the ROYAL Princess. To our complete and utter dismay we were in for a huge disappointment ...

B2B October 1-15 B2B: California coastal and Mexican Rivera Flew from Spokane to LAX. Embarkation: We took the free shuttle from Doubletree San Pedro at 1:30 pm. We wanted to avoid the crowds. Checkin was a breeze. We had uploaded all of our information onto the medallion and were green lane. The only thing that threw me a bit was being asked for proof of our covid vaccinations. ...
