Princess is back and it's great

A friend invited me to join this cruise and it was wonderful overall. The medallion class had a wearable medallion that opens your cabin door, recognizes you at a bar, cafe and other desks where staff interact with you and makes for a pretty smooth experience. A lot more can be done on your device app if you explore the software more. While thrilled to be back on the sea and comfortable ...

Good But Not Great

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Grand Princess

I was excited to sail again and was looking forward to Princess' new Medallion Class experience. Using the Princess app made pre-embarkation easy. Completing all off the forms and uploading ID photos in advance made check-in at the pier a breeze. Of course, there were only 565 passengers (on a ship with a capacity of 2600) on this short voyage so there were no lines. In California, proof of ...

Wonderful cruise

The three of us - my husband and I, 68 and 69, were really ready to travel again, and needed a relatively short cruise close to home so his 89 year-old mom, who lives with us, could come along. This fit the bill perfectly. Plus Mom had never been to California, so the two ports, San Francisco and San Diego, had lots of new things for her to see. Covid numbers were down, we were all fully ...

Great to be back to cruising

First trip in way too long. Great to be back. This was our first Royal Class ship. Wow, the Majestic is big and beautiful. But because Princess has followed a pattern in their ship design it felt like home right away. We did seven days on the California coast. Very pleasant get-away cruise. The staff and services were exceptional. We were so happy to be greeted and helped by a very caring and ...

Cruise and Staff were great, Medallion App has some technical issues

We have cruised on several lines including Carnival. Switched to this cruise to test drive Princess and we were not disappointed. Ship, Crew, Bar staff at the Aft Bar deck 16 were awesome. Lots of people had issues with the app to the their #5 Medical done, finally did it on my wife's apple. The Medallion worked great but interaction with the app was mediocre at best. Onboard staff only ...

Very improved service

We booked this cruise over a year ago (California Coastal) along with back-to-back Mexican Riviera cruise. The Mexican costal cruise was cancelled because back-to-back cruises were not permitted at that time. The food and room service were both great. The only issue we had was the room thermostat - it did not work. It took 3 days for Princess to fix the issue - One day it was very cold, the ...

Princess is working hard to welcome everyone back to the world!

We chose this cruise because it was only four days and we wanted to see how cruising has changed since the pandemic. What we've lost are big dance parties and chocolates on our pillows. We still have good performances, numerous trivia games, many movies, upgraded large TV's in cabins, and many activities. The cruise staff goes above and beyond to make sure passengers are entertained. The comedian ...

A pretty pleasant return to big-ship cruising on Princess

The Missus and I last sailed on the Grand Princess on a 2020 New Year's cruise to Hawaii and back. A couple of voyages later, the ship wound up in the COVID headlines. We thought we would never get to sail on her again; at the time of our cruise, Grand Princess was headed to Southampton later in the year for Mediterranean cruises. At least, that *was* the plan. Cut to 2021. The Grand is now ...

An almost complete let down compared to prior princess cruises

We had decided to cruise on princess for our third time this October and brought a friend for their first cruise on princess. Prior to going we talked up the wonderful experiences we’ve had on princess before. What a let down and embarrassment this cruise was. With the exception of the wonderful staff this was the worst cruise I’ve experienced. It seems that princess is cutting corners and costs ...

We chose this simple 4 day cruise just to get back to cruising again after 5 cruise cancellations this past year. We wanted to see for ourselves the new protocols and procedures that are currently in place. We wanted to be prepared for the cruises we have booked for early 2022. This was a fun, short, cruise that answered those questions. Princess , and particularly the Grand Princess were well ...
