Relaxing Getaway - Some changes

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Ruby Princess

We take about one cruise per year. This one aboard the Ruby Princess was relaxing at best. Fresh from dry dock the ship was refreshed and felt almost new in some venues. The crew contributed to our satisfaction with this cruise. We were lucky enough to have great weather and smooth sailing. There were plenty of choices for dining, entertainment and onboard activities. The demographic was mostly ...

The ship had several improvements as a result of its recent Dry Dock. All new carpets thru out the ship. The Grill on Deck 15 by the pool is now called the Salty Dog Grill, its menu has expanded now to include fish tacos and an upscale hamburger which costs $5 but all other menu its continue to be at no charge. The Pizza and Ice Cream area has expanded to include coffee on Deck 15 by the pool. ...

Great dance floors, terrible music.

The Ruby Princess has 4 dance areas, three are wooden floors and we thought we could find some decent music somewhere to dance to, but we were wrong. The food was good, but there were too many games(like Carnival) in the dance venues, so the floors were taken up with dumb stuff. We will definitely not do this cruise again. Embarkation in San Pedro was smooth, disembarkation was ...

I always love the service on Princess and this was no exception. During our cruise there were upgrades going on that couldn't be done in dry dock, but we were surprised to get a video on demand just two days into the cruise. The crew was great and the service level was off the chart and the food was exceptional. Anyone who hasn't cruised with Princess should because it is definitely a five star ...

I enjoy sailing on princess, had a great time on the Ruby, the beds and pillows were awesome however I do miss the old menus that were in the dining room, they only had a couple of slides to choose from Plus the entrées I didn’t enjoy what they were offering the old man you had more of a selection to choose from comparing to the new menu. as far as the ship itself it was in good condition the ...

The embarkation/disembarkation is a fairly smooth process. The ship is a good one--Promenade, Lido, and Sun decks were great public spaces. The Casino offers of variety of gaming choices. The dining areas offer a variety of choices cuisine/ship location--fine dining, pizza, burgers, ice cream....all have great service! The ship's staff is super. The tender process in Cabo was not that ...

MEXICAN CRUISE 7 DAYS ON THE RUBY PRINCESS

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Ruby Princess

We chose this cruise because Princess has a pretty good reputation and it was my birthday (any excuse for a getaway and fun). There were 7 of us total, 2 of which were my friend's parents in their 80's. There were plenty of activities for all us to enjoy. I should confess that we usually travel on smaller ships in a more prestigious category such as: Windstar, Viking, Oceania and even Crystal. ...

Disappointing, from the service to the food

We were so excited for this cruise. A number of people had told us that Princess had great service and fantastic food. We were excited for SHARE and other specialty restaurants. I anticipated days full of exercise classes and crafts, and nights of luxurious dinners and dancing the night away. Alas, it didn't live up to expectations. Embarkation took forever - just a ton of waiting and standing ...

What a great ship! Large ocean view cabin with big window, lots of space in room and closet. Big screen TV in room. There are 4 pools and never had an issue getting a seat at the pool. There is a full pizzeria which is excellent and great staff. The buffet was the worst I have seen or tasted in 30 years of travel. Unsanitary, people dropping food in food, and just awful tasting. I have been ...
