Review for a U.S.A. Cruise on Sapphire Princess

Our 7th cruise, first to the California Coast. Last minute itinerary change forced cancellation of shore tours on our first stop in San Francisco, of which we were not informed (we found out on Cruise Critic forum). The first night Main Dining (anytime) had a 45 minute wait at all dining rooms, and when we finally got seated the service was so slow it took us an hour and a half to get through ...

This was our 5th cruise with Princess, but the 1st on Sapphire Princess. This was the best of any of the Princess cruises or the 5 other cruises on Carnival, Norwegian and Royal Caribbean. We arrived at the port at 11:30 am. Boarding started at 12:15 pm and we were on board and in our cabin by 1:15 pm. We left port 2 hours late due to a medical emergency. The late departure and high seas ...

On 27 April I sailed on the Sapphire Princess along the beautiful California coast and this was cruise #15 for me. This being a port every day, the experience is differing from the rural scenery of Alaska or New England/Canada. For one thing I found the experience to be more urban in flavor, with ports such as San Francisco, Santa Barbara and San Diego. The absence of sea days tended to drain ...

Another Great Princess Cruise

This was our 13th total cruise and sixth in a row on Princess. We sailed with DW's sister and her husband. We choose this cruise mainly for the number of sea days and the fact we live less than 100 miles from the port of San Pedro so no flying was involved. We did the same cruise on the Golden in 2011. Liked it so much, we booked this one as soon as bookings opened. Since we lived so close, ...

Mom and I have now been on our second cruise with Princess, the first being the Caribbeans and this one to Hawaii March 9 thru' the 23rd. It was a wonderful experience in every way. First of all the crew made sure we were comfortable and satisfied. We were, no question. The food was deliscious daily and I ate to my hearts content as I had planned to do. The entertainment was great especially ...

Our group consisted of my 70-something year old parents (who treated the rest of us to this cruise), my husband & me (in our 40s), our 2 sons (ages 10 & 12) and my brother, a single 40-something. I had cruised once 20+ years ago and my parents had cruised several times but never on Princess (RCL and others). We chose this cruise simply because it worked with everyone's schedule. Overall I highly ...

Budget travel to Hawaii, courtesy of a cruise line!

This cruise came about largely as a result of simple math. My wife had visited Hawaii many years ago with her grandmother, and wanted to return. When we checked on hotel prices, food, and airfare, a cruise won hands down. Coming from the east coast in winter, we came out a day early to make sure the weather wouldn't pose a problem. We spent the night at the Crown Plaza hotel, which is ...

Three generations took this trip, with my father, wife and daughter all joining me. Originally, it was going to just be myself and my wife, but we managed to convince my Dad to come along and (conveniently enough) pay for our daughter. Two upgrades later, we found ourselves with one of the family suites on Dolphin Deck forward (WAAAYYYY forward - but more on that later). Getting there - we ...

A fun time was had by all on Sapphire Princess

Embarkation: Easy as pie. Well organized and quick. We had to wait about 15 minutes in a waiting area by number. Getting our cards, going through security, and boarding were all simple and painless. Once we got on the ship our cabin was ready and our luggage already waiting for us. How awesome is that? Food: I am grading this against the Carnival cruises I have been on and one Royal ...

This turned out to be a family and friends affair. It started with us and my one sister and her boy friend and then a few months before the cruise, my other sister informed us she was joining us along with some friends of hers. It had been so long since us three sisters had been together for this long as we are spread out through the US. EMBARKATION: Very smooth. Checked in with no ...
