Good to be back on the High Seas!

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Discovery Princess

B2B October 1-15 B2B: California coastal and Mexican Rivera Flew from Spokane to LAX. Embarkation: We took the free shuttle from Doubletree San Pedro at 1:30 pm. We wanted to avoid the crowds. Checkin was a breeze. We had uploaded all of our information onto the medallion and were green lane. The only thing that threw me a bit was being asked for proof of our covid vaccinations. ...

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Island Princess

We chose this cruise as we wanted to do a full transit of the Panama Canal. And this cruise totally delivered on that. We experienced going through the canal from the Miraflores, the Pedro Miguel, and then the Gatun locks. We received a lot of really good history and information on the region, and got to see the locks in action. As an added bonus, the food aboard was excellent. Hence we ...

DO a Panama Canal cruise if you can!

I have looked forward to doing a full transit in the OLD locks - and finally did it! But that takes time (15 days) and a smaller ship (Island or Coral on Princess). There were some stumbles on board because she spent over 700 days out of service - and had only been in service for 15 days when we boarded. Some A/C issues were still being addressed. The crew worked feverishly to make everything ...

Great to be back on Princess

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Majestic Princess

We had a wonderful time aboard Majestic Princess. We were a little worried after reading so many negative reviews, but we're happy to report that the Princess folks are still doing a great job. The ship was spotlessly clean and the crew was constantly sanitizing and cleaning. There were only 1,800 passengers on board so venues were never crowded. The crew was thrilled to be back at work ...

This is part 2 of a back-to-back cruise beginning last week on the California Coastal. This second part we went to San Diego first and it was a very nice day there. We have family so were able to visit with them before returning to ship to hang out. After that was a cold and rougher day at sea before arriving in San Francisco. San Francisco's itinerary was shortened from when we booked the ...

Fantastic after Day 1

Having never cruised Princess, 2 positives stood out. The technology of Medallion Class, and their check-in process. Now did the app work perfectly, 100% of the time? No. Of course not. I’ve never had a day at work where my internet was perfect, but I’m not quitting my job over it. We are also in the middle of a freaking ocean, so it’s pretty impressive to have any service at all. The food was ...

We wanted to "Test Drive" the Princess Discovery prior to our group cruise to Alaska in August. Ship is new. Therefore, everything is in top shape. We felt they had some staffing issue - hopefully, they will be fully staffed prior to our August cruise. Even though there were empty tables, restaurant reservations were almost impossible to get on the Medallion App. We finally managed to beg the ...

Our First Medallion Cruise had Surprises

This Pacific Coastal cruise was cancelled twice by Princess on us because of Covid. So we REALLY looked forward to sailing. I had bought two adjoining balcony cabins as my daughter and granddaughter had never cruised before and my granddaughter was turning 21 on the cruise. Her college Spring Break fit the cruise schedule. Arriving at our staterooms our attendant asked if we wanted the balcony ...

Beautiful California Coastal

This was a cruise to celebrate my birthday. It was a week of lovely weather and beautiful views as we cruised the California Coast. One of the highlights was cruising in under the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. That is a magnificent sight, especially at 5:30 in the morning when everything is lit up. Then you get to enjoy the San Francisco city skyline and all it's lights as ...

Showroom New Ship

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Discovery Princess

Discovery is absolutely brand new with not even a paint chip or scratch. All the bugs of a new ship have been worked out in the first three sailings. My only complaint is that it is a carbon copy of our last cruise on the Enchanted Princess. It was our fifth Royal Class ship and I was hoping for maybe a little change of scenery, but they all are so very similar it doesn't feel as exciting as I ...
