Dry dock overall in some areas badly needed in others, like the food.

We usually go on this cruise every year. We know the ship, could see some new things that have been upgraded, so that a was nice. Fake grass around the neptune pool and the Mix bar and Salty Dog were upgraded too. New tellys in the cabins was a nice feature too. The food however, it's not as good as it used to be. The horizon cafe, the food is the same more or less every night. And it's ...

We sailed on Ruby Princess during Thanksgiving week 2018. Ports of call were Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta. Weather was nice and warm other than the first and last sea days which were noticeably cooler. We reserved a balcony cabin on Caribe deck 10, had very large balconies compared to higher decks. Steward Ryan was very nice and helpful, he obtained synthetic pillows for me ...

Cruisers included DH and myself (mid-50's), our daughter (late 20's), and my mother-in-law (mid-80's). DH and I have cruised on Carnival and NCL, MIL has cruised on Celebrity, daughter had never cruised before. We chose this cruise mainly for itinerary (California Coastal) since daughter had never been to California, and we thought it would be good for all generations. MDR - We had anytime ...

The Ports of calls, is what really got my attention. The ship was made a little different some floors you could not go from forward to aft. The cabin was a decent size, but the shower was awfully small. The food in the buffet dining room was always cold and was not pleasing, pancakes was super hard, I ate a lot at the Salty Dog.. The entertainment in the theater was okay, I would give it a 7 out of ...

We take about one cruise per year. This one aboard the Ruby Princess was relaxing at best. Fresh from dry dock the ship was refreshed and felt almost new in some venues. The crew contributed to our satisfaction with this cruise. We were lucky enough to have great weather and smooth sailing. There were plenty of choices for dining, entertainment and onboard activities. The demographic was mostly ...

I enjoy sailing on princess, had a great time on the Ruby, the beds and pillows were awesome however I do miss the old menus that were in the dining room, they only had a couple of slides to choose from Plus the entrées I didn’t enjoy what they were offering the old man you had more of a selection to choose from comparing to the new menu. as far as the ship itself it was in good condition the ...

The embarkation/disembarkation is a fairly smooth process. The ship is a good one--Promenade, Lido, and Sun decks were great public spaces. The Casino offers of variety of gaming choices. The dining areas offer a variety of choices cuisine/ship location--fine dining, pizza, burgers, ice cream....all have great service! The ship's staff is super. The tender process in Cabo was not that ...

MEXICAN CRUISE 7 DAYS ON THE RUBY PRINCESS

We chose this cruise because Princess has a pretty good reputation and it was my birthday (any excuse for a getaway and fun). There were 7 of us total, 2 of which were my friend's parents in their 80's. There were plenty of activities for all us to enjoy. I should confess that we usually travel on smaller ships in a more prestigious category such as: Windstar, Viking, Oceania and even Crystal. ...

This was our first cruise out of the west coast and we were impressed with embarkation. From the time we arrived at San Pedro, we were on the ship in only a few minutes. The public areas of the ship were in good condition, as the ship has very recently come out of dry dock. Everything looked great. We did notice that the clock at the aft pool was out of service during the entire voyage - a ...

Good Value as usual. Calm seas and good weather made cruise more enjoyable. Enjoyed Share and Crown Grill dining as always, like Share a little more now that it is $29 pp. Enjoyed first Chef’s Table Experience, be prepared for an almost endless supply of varied food and wine. Did not think Crab Shack is worth the price of $29 pp. Enjoyed Mexican ports, but still a little humid. Would recommend a ...
