Good cruise, great itinerary

Review for Grand Princess to U.S.A.

Overall we enjoyed our cruise on the Grand Princess. It was not a perfect trip, but in our opinion the positives definitely outweighed all negatives. Embarkation was ok. We arrived later and missed the largest crowd. The condition of the ship, as noted by many other reviews is somewhat worn and there are areas in need of upgrade, but she is still a nice ship. Our stateroom did not have ...

The three day coastal cruise was of an excellent value. Arrived in Vancouver Canada Place at 2 p.m. and was surprised to still see lots of people lining up. But the line moved quickly. Passengers go through US immigrations before boarding and the check-in was fast and efficient. Service onboard was aomng the top notch. Staff are friendly, always smiling and adressing passengers when meet in the ...

Pacific Coastal 3-Night with kids - Princess vs. RCCL

My wife and I are in our mid to late 30's - sailed on Princess and RCCL - 7 on Princess and 2 on RCCL. This was the first time taking our 3 kids on a cruise with us - we thought a 3-night would be a good introduction for them. We're glad we went and had a good time. Our first cruises were all with Princess, and the two prior cruises to this one, we went on RCCL. Going back on a Princess cruise, ...

We were on the Sep 22 – Oct 2 cruise from Vancouver to Vancouver going down the California coast and back. We have sailed with Princess before but not in recent years. The first stop was San Francisco, supposed to dock at 8:30am. I went ahead and booked a 11:30 Alcatraz excursion with Alcatraz Cruises (next pier over from where we docked). Well the first thing that happened was we were unable to ...

This is a quote from HostKat: I think it is how I feel about the cruise. "Being happy does not mean everything is perfect. It means you have decided to look beyond the imperfections." Embarkation at the Ballentyne Pier-Disorganized, Long lines, Long Wait. Port Staff and Princess staff didn't seem to know answers to questions. Debarkation in Seattle at Pier 91 : the Customs decided to Scan each ...

First Time and the Last Time on Princess!

Just got back from a repositioning cruise (Vancouver to Seattle). Worst experience ever, and I have been on many repositioning cruises (Norwegian and Holland America). First - we had to stand in line for 3 HOURS! before we even got through customs. Then another wait before we were given our cruise identification, then another wait to have your card scanned and picture taken - all before we even ...

We embarked on a 7-day Coastal California cruise on the Grand Princess with 8 of our friends out of San Francisco, Pier 35. The embarkation was quick, painless and professional. We were on board with 15 minutes of getting into the cruise terminal. Parking was nearby at a cost of $14 a day, which is reasonable for SF, but is about a 1/4 mile walk back to the pier. Traffic getting to the ship is ...

We flew into San Francisco a few days early. I contracted ahead of time with Super Shuttle to arrange transport to the pier. We stayed at the Sheraton Fishermans wharf on pier 39. We were able to walk to the grand Princess on pier 35 with our luggage, about a easy ten minute walk. Embarkation: We met up with three other couples at 10:30 at the pier. Once there, we were told there was no lounge ...

Embarkation, 15 March, 2014: Embarkation was very easy. After going through the routine activities of check-in and security, we were directed to a holding area to await our group number being called. The wait was relatively brief compared to other embarkations that I have experienced. The only con that I have for the embarkation from San Francisco was the lack of refreshments and drinks. Other ...
