Disappointed in Ship and Princess Cay excursion in Day 1 almost ruined

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Grand Princess

We have, 4 adults, have traveled together for over 40 years. We were disappointed in our balcony cabin as it was tired-dated bedding, decor, tile cracked in bathroom but good storage. Day one we rented a bungalow in the Sanctuary. Too far to walk so they changed to bungalow. Day went well although island could use some landscaping. Tram never came to pick us up so we walked halfway and a waitress ...

An excellent captain, pleasant and enjoyable voyage but tragic.

After cruising on Royal Caribbean for most of our previous dozen plus cruises, we took this 15 day cruise to the Hawaiian Islands aboard the Grand Princess. To be honest, we took this cruise mostly for it's itinerary. We have neighbors who sail Princess almost exclusively and after listening to them, felt comfortable taking our first Princess cruise. We had our friends who live just a bit north ...

The Worst Cruise I have Taken So Far!

Let me start out by saying that I have traveled the Caribbean five other times with four other lines, and I would recommend all of the other lines over Princess. Which is surprising to me because I truly expected excellence on this line. My grandmother and her friends traveled through Alaska with Princess a few years ago and loved it! We traveled with Princess through the Caribbean and hated it! ...

A Wonderful and memborable trip with out two sons and grandsons. Our 4th cruise, sons 3rd cruise and Grandsons (ages 5 & 6) first cruise! Justice is/was in a cast and the crew of the Grand Princess took very good care of us and him. From the time we got out of the taxi to get on the ship and until the time we left the ship at Fort Lauderdale. They were very helpful in all aspects of him and us ...

First I want to preface this by saying that we have gone on cruises before with two other companies, so there is something to compare to. Obviously, this review is somewhat subjective. WHAT WENT WRONG: 1. We booked the cruise about 3 weeks before sailing online - this was over xmas and new year's December 2008 for 14 nights (Wester Carib). You have to register online through Princess website, ...

The Grand Princess is not so Grand

Ten years ago my wife and I cruised on the Grand Princess during it's inaugural season in the Mediterranean and she was a Grand ship.Today she is showing her age and desperately needs reconditioning. This was our 15th cruise with Princess and we have cruised on other lines so we have a reference to compare. I must say that this cruise was our most disappointing. There were some good points but ...

Traveling was myself 43 and my husband 50, another couple around the same age and my son and his girlfriend (mid-twenties). Let me start off by saying we are already planning our next cruise. We flew into Ft. Lauderdale the day before we left and stayed at the Ramada Airport/Cruiseport. The hotel had nice landscaping but the rooms were not very nice. All of our rooms smelled. And the outside ...

We took our first cruise ever last week. In honor of our 15th wedding anniversary - we left the kids with Grandma and took off for the Western Caribbean! What a great way to travel - should have listened to all of the seasoned cruisers a long time ago. We flew in to FLL on friday - just to avoid any delays (bad weather in Nashville lately). We stayed at the Spring Hill suites (Marriott) as they ...

We had never cruised before, but were celebrating an anniversary and my birthday. We flew to Ft. Lauderdale the night before and stayed with my sister (much better than a hotel). We got there for embarkation about mid-afternoon and it was not at all a long wait. We had no idea what we were doing, but found it pretty easy to figure it out, what papers to fill out and such. I had printed boarding ...

Excellent first time experience

We boarded the Grand Princess on March 22, 2008 from Fort Lauderdale. The Embarkation process was very smooth and very quick. We had pre-registered all our information (passports, credit cards etc.) through Princess' website so we really had an express check-in so to speak. Right from the desk inside the port the staff welcomed us with open arms. The first day was a great adventurous experience ...
