DO NOT TRAVEL ON PRINCESS

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Grand Princess

My dream was to go to Alaska, this trip ended in nightmare. No Covid mitigation in any facility, bus train anywhere. We all got Covid, was stuck in a quarantine wing with no medical attention, one call a day to see how we were, crap food. All food at lodges on the land tour is extremely expensive with no other options and mediocre at best. We paid $140 for 4 buffets, only choices: 3 meats(2 ...

Grand Princess Cruise to Alaska

Princess Cruises had a great reputation, and our travel agent recommended them for Alaska. Things didn't turn out as expected: 1. During the land portion of our trip to Alaska, we stayed in three different inns, one of which was the Mount McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge. We had many problems opening our room door with our room key at the lodge, for which we asked for assistance from hotel ...

Horrible, I mean HORRIBLE food.

The food was unbelievably bad. Even the Italian specialty restaurant was the worst Italian food I have ever had. The buffet was seriously worse than and American chain buffet venue. If you like selections such as sliced carrots with peas, this might just be the place for you. If you want something more inspiring, you are in the wrong place. The pizza restaurant on Deck 5 is excellent and the ...

A miserable waste of time and the poorest cruising experience ever!

Have sailed on Princess many times. This will for sure be the last one. From the embarkation, to debarkation, the entire experience was miserable, rude, and a complete joke. By second day you could only shake your head and laugh at Princess and how bad they are operating today versus where they were 23 years ago when we first sailed their line. The ship was dirty. The hallways were filthy. ...

Worst cruise I’ve taken

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Grand Princess

Worst cruise I’ve taken. There was a lot of smoke, the casino was the worst casino I’ve ever been in. It was dirty, and one of the slot attendants was very rude. I never met a casino host. The food st the Michelangelo wasn’t very good. The portions were small. Three years ago they weren’t charging for a filet mignon, and on my last trip they charged for it. It wasn’t easy to find a table ...

The cruise almost from hell

Because the port was close to home I choose this ship and cruise. I quickly found out that I couldn't get out of my room without calling someone to open the door from the outside. This went on for 7 days! Then they finally got it fixed after I wrote a letter to the Captain. Other letters to the hotel manager, etc., did no good. I feel something should have been done about this immediately. ...

This was supposed to be a celebration of our daughters graduation with her Masters degree, however as a family we decided it’s our last Princess cruise. 6 adults, 3 adjoining balcony rooms, great Alaska Inside passage itinerary but the Grand Princess isn’t! We are a Platinum Princess family and had cruised this same trip in 2013 from SF and had a great time. This trip was an easier embark than ...

Our first and last cruise! Horrible experience! BEWARE if handicapped!

After my husband had a major heart attack, we decided once he was well enough to start on his bucket list. His big item was a cruise to Alaska. We wanted to go for more than 7 days and looked at Princess because they were significantly less expensive than some competitors. Bad decision! I guess you get what you pay for! We booked our excursions through Princess and included a night before and ...

The most disappointing cruise

Having cruised Princess nine times in the past we though we knew what to expect from the grand daddy of west coast cruising. Needless to say everything was extremely disappointing. The cabins despite the refurbishment in 2016 tired, with mismatched knobs and soiled bed skirts. Dinning options were as old and tired as the ship. the ray of sunshine I can acknowledge is the embarkation process ...
