Would think twice before going with Princess again.

Grand Princess, Web site and pre planning an absolute nightmare

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Grand Princess

Spent far too much time and energy planning this cruise and cruise tour. The web site and app. is not user friendly and response time is hit and miss likely causing us to book our next cruise with another company. Otherwise I would have rated this cruise a solid 4, maybe even 5. However, The logisistics and on board and on land service was excellent at all levels. This was our 2nd Alaska ...

There's a lot of things that made this entire experience not enjoyable from the beginning. Dealing with customer service is almost nonexistent. They do not reply to emails, when you cancel things on their website there's no way to tell if you're due reimbursement, where it goes, and their methodology for giving onboard credit versus a refund and when they issue is vague at best. We were due ...

Grand Princess needs a lot of improvements

We chose this cruise because the Grand Princess was a smaller ship that could turn around in Glacier Bay. Princess advertised that it's specialty was Alaska cruises but if that was their specialty, they have a long way to go.. Princess had a lot of incentives to get you to try their cruise line such as free drink packages and WIFI. The overall ship was fine but they had a LOT of areas that need ...

The embarkation was good, when we arrived to our suite we were surprised we had no cover on our balcony and we had all people above able to view us on the balcony. No privacy at all. Only booked three nights for dinner prior to leaving, thinking we could book as we went along. Only able to book 2 nights out of 9 for future meals, so just pot luck if you get in for dinner. The entertainment has not ...

This is a review of my recent cruise on the Grand Princess including the new Premier Level option. We went on back to back weeks from Vancouver to Alaska and back again. We were in a mini-suite. The highs: --The room was nice: large bathroom, plenty of storage, a sitting area with couch and table and a nice balcony. --Room Stewart was great. She went above and beyond. Two examples: ...

Took friends on a 12 day of Alaska to show them the advantages of ocean cruising and show off Alaska. Ship was in good shape, staff was excellent, food ok, entertainment ok with a couple of excellent people. Mechanical issues caused us to leave in the middle of the night causing us to miss Icy Strait Point, our whale watching port. The Endicott Arm scenic cruising was a fabulous day. ...

Wanted to do the Alaskan itinerary and chose Princess because they have such a huge stake in Alaska. This was also our 4th cruise with Princess and had a pretty good experience in the past. We stayed in 4 different properties over the 5 day land tour, which was a little tiring, but we knew that going into the trip. All of the coach drivers were amazing! The pre-arranged land excursions were ...

My wife and I really enjoy cruising. We have done this itinerary in 2008 and joined friends again. We did 4 days into Alaska staying at the Princess lodges around Denali which are very nice. Take the train (Princess sightseeing car) from Denali to Whitter and board the ship. The ship is older and dated, worn. the service is very good , food is very good, dining offerings are very ...

Not the higher end experience we thought we were signing up for...

We chose a Princess cruise thinking we were selecting a top shelf experience. Sadly, the cruise experience was less than we were hoping for. On a positive note, the highlight of the cruise was the on-board staff. They were kind and gracious at every interaction. The ship itself was mostly tired and showing its age despite a recent retrofit. A bright spot was the fitness center. it ...

Old ship and would not pick her again

I chose this cruise because I had sailed on her 10 years ago and she was beautiful, however, she is a tired old ship. Club Class is aweful compared to Majestic Princess. Grand Princess still has the same old room style, carpet was coming out from the wall, couch was old and we wouldn’t sit on it because we did not know what had gone on there. The cushion didn’t fit. The shelf under the sink ...
