Very impressed mini-cruise

Embarkation This was the area where we were very impressed. We were unsure about staggered boarding but it obviously works. We arrived at the terminal at 12:55 and were sitting in our cabin at 13:10 which was the quickest time we have ever boarded a ship. Cabin As this was a short cruise we were not too bothered about which cabin we had and settled on E208 on Emerald deck. This is one of 4 ...

This was the first cruise with Princess and we sailed on the Grand from Southampton to Guernsey and then on to Le Havre and back to Southampton. It was a quick 3 night break. Boarding was organised and quick and our suitcase was waiting at the cabin when we arrived. We were originally given a staggered boarding time of 12:30 but when we arrived at the check in they were simply accepting people ...

This was our 18th cruise on Princess. It was made even better by an upgrade to a balcony cabin 1 week before the cruise started. We spent 2 days in London before the cruise started and took Princess bus to Southampton. The weather was cool as expected but we had many sunny days especially when we went to North Cape and cruised the Geiranger Fjord. Grand Princess has a solarium pool were we spend ...

We booked a 3 night mini cruise, to celebrate a special birthday. 2 sisters ,one of whom is disabled and uses a mobility scooter, and myself. We had been looking forward to our cruise for some time. Embarkation was exceptional, never boarded so fast, cabin was lovely, we had been up-graded, so a wonderful start. Our cabin steward was lovely, very helpful. Things went down hill fast after this ...

I was so shocked to read the first published review as I had the impression to be on a different cruise. We booked the cruise because we wanted to start as Princess Circle Club Platinum Member our 23-night cruise from Tianjin to Vancouver in May 2013 and benefit from all privileges when we are on such a long cruise. So we need a break and it was the perfect cruise for us just to get ...

I am getting pickier as I am getting older. Twenty years ago, I felt like a queen on a cruise ship. Now it is just another way to travel abroad. Food was OK, but became mediocre by the end of the cruise. No flavors, no sauces. Dull. Bingo $20 plus $1.50 for a marker. 4 games with prizes of $75, $100, $125 & $150 unless you won the coverall for ...

We arrived at Southampton at 12.15 and check in was great no queue we went straight on board and were eating lunch within half an hour which was great. After we had eaten we went to see our cabin which was dissapointing to say the least despite the re-fit on the grand princess the cabins had not been touched and are showing there age and look very tired. The bathroom especially was very ...

Well My Darling Wife has always wanted a cruise so for her 40th Birthday I surprised her with a cruise to Norway on Grand Princess. The main reasons why I booked this cruise was 1, it was Southampton to Southampton - We live in Southampton, 5 minutes from the port. 2, It was during school holidays as we have a teenage Daughter. 3, It was in my price range. I had followed the refit online ...

I write this as a passenger, previous customer, and from the perspective of someone who was on the Grand Princess when it made its last transatlantic trip from Southampton to Florida last Sept/Oct 2010 (pre-dry-dock). And one who made an identical crossing one year earlier. To be clear, the press on the refit and the video diary on YouTube made this cruise appear as if the ship was "all-new" and ...

Oh my! Our first experience of Princess line and definitely our last. I am well aware that there will be a flood of responses opposing my views but I wonder how many of those who thought it anything above average have ever been on a good cruise line. The ship - too big and far too impersonal. The public area staff - disinterested bordering on surly. With the exception of the cabin steward who was ...
