This is my totally over-comprehensive review of my second cruise ever. We chose this cruise for our honeymoon and this itinerary because I had heard so many good things about Grand Cayman. I realize how over-inclusive it is, but I hope it provides anyone who doesn’t quite know what to expect an idea of what to expect.
Embarkation: Getting from the airport to the ship was a little crazy as ...
Have been on many other Princess Cruises but had not tried the Caribbean Princess. I read good and bad reviews and will now share my review.
We started off in Fort Lauderdale....we flew in the same day of the cruise. Took the Princess Shuttle and was at the port in a timely manner. Our Embarkation was very smooth. We had ordered our medallions ahead of time but still needed to get checked ...
Great get away from snow and winter weather. I enjoyed the lovely 80 degree weather. My husband and I took excursions at each port. It was nice to have people give us tours and take us to points of interest. On board the Caribbean Princess we took in the shows each night. What a wonderful job the cast put on. Each night a different type of show. Our vacation also gave us time at night to ...
We traveled with two other couples. Port choices not ideal ( Princess Cay, Puerto Rico, Amber Cove D.R., Grand Turk). Cabins are a good size, lots of storage. We were in a partially obstructed view which wasn't obstructed. Crew were excellent in every venue, bar, restaurant. Medallion for room was great for opening doors, getting on/off ship, but little else. Even tech people weren't able to ...
The Ports we have cruised the Canal before bit since the new one is in business wanted to see what it looked like. The size and the new canal area is very interesting. Took a few more excursions this time and they were very informative and interesting. Had a good time on all the Islands we visited but we were disappointed that Falmouth was cancelled because of the wind and wave action. But ...
A pleasant trip, with the Panama Canal and Cartegena being our highlights. The captain skillfully managed the ship in the high winds. Because of the winds, we were unable to stop at Jamaica, but that was ok for us, as we had been there last year. There were a lot of people with scooters, walkers, and canes on this trip. Some had a very hard time walking with the rocking of the waves. Some ...
Enjoyed this cruise even thought we could not dock in Jamaica due to high waves. Noro virus was also on board so many passengers were confined to their rooms. The staff performed very well in order to contain. Food good overall. Did not appreciate having an additional charge menu with our meals, Meals are included, but they will keep the good items at a premium. Septic smells were in some ...
We have taken 20+ cruises and chose Princess this time because we were traveling with 8 other people who chose this ship and itinerary. Princess always has beautiful ships and this was no exception. We booked a "balcony deluxe" instead of a regular balcony because this room includes a sofa bed and provides a little more space. (The balcony rooms are small.) The room was very nice, but the balcony ...
For my wife and me, this was our 25th cruise (8th on a Princess ship). The Regal Princess is beautiful and well maintained. Even in a rough sea, the ship cruises quite smoothly. Generally speaking, we had a great time. Nevertheless, PCL and the Regal Princess have areas needing improvement.
Embarkation/Disembarkation --- Simply put, embarkation (and also disembarkation) was about as ...
We have been traveling with Princess for 15 years and they are consistently good. We are not up for a late night party crowd and not looking to have kids running around... so the critical comments about it being an older crowd are actually a plus for me.
Over the years the bar service has been changing, especially so after the drink packages were introduced. Instead of an annoying army of ...
