Actually I was on the Sky in December with my husband and friends for the inaugural cruise and then the seven night western Caribbean directly after that. We were invited to the naming ceremony and it was very impressive. The ship is really beautiful. The soft blues, greys and creams were a welcome color palette. The new comfy furniture on the pool deck was terrific and there was always plenty of seating whether at sea or in port. The rooms were well done although the extra chair has been removed. Thank goodness the old shower curtains have been replaced with great ones that do not stick to your body. The staff were so friendly and so much fun. The food was as ever very good and plentiful. there was always something for everyone's taste. The main dining rooms were laid out nice and nothing was cramped or close together. It was a nice relaxed atmosphere. But I must say that what really makes this ship special is its captain. Boy if they could only clone him. Captain Michele "Bye Bye" Tuvo is a gem. He is so funny, kind, genuine, warm and very good at his job. He can "park a ship" like nobody I've ever seen. He walks through the dining venues every morning and talks to the passengers, and then you see,him sometimes during the afternoon or evening. I got to know him on the December cruise when I hosted a meet and greet and he attended and stayed the entire hour - entertaining us the entire time. Then when I saw him on this cruise he remembered me and my name - made my trip. He is quite a guy for sure. Princess is lucky to,have him as Imheard many passengers remark at the end of the cruise that he made the cruise. And he did! The entertainment was good, although the one production number 5Skies was quite something, I don't think it was the right appeal, for the age demographic onboard. The Rockopera was great. As with most ship theaters there just isn't enough seating so in order to get a decent seat you have to get there an hour ahead of the show. People were turned away because there weren't enough seats. There is plenty of seating all around the ship and lots of nooks and places to hang out. The onboard entertainment - singers and bands - was great. I do miss Crooners and wish they would bring it back as well as happy hour. Alfredos has been revamped on its layout and is a bit more casual and has added outdoor seating but the pizza is fabulous. There was always a crowd but the wait was never too bad and worth the wait. We took a few of the ship excursions and they were great. It was nice knowing we were covered in case of a late return to themship. A lot of,those islands have poor infrastructure and you never know how things are going to go. Rather pay a few extra dollars and know I'm covered. The medallion thing worked out so easy and great. Check in was so fast and efficient. We were on the ship in nothing flat. We used the compass to find each other throughout the cruise and it worked really great. Then when we disembarked, boy is it easy. You walk up to,a screen and if it recognizes you then you are done. No customs agents and long lines. So quick and efficient. We had a terrific, fabulous, wonderful time both in December and again in January. We are booked on two 10 night cruises next year on the Sky. Hope Bye Bye will be there! Read Less

We had a great time on this lovely new ship. The food was nothing better than the usual Princess standard, but as that's very good we were happy. We also tried the new French place - la Mer, which was very good, and Sabatini's which was excellent. The entertainment was first rate - Rock Opera is the best show I've ever seen at sea, and would not be out of place on Broadway or he West End - really good. The other big show 5 Skies, is good too, we loved it, but think it probably misses the mark of the cruising population - a bit too young, modern and hi-tech for the largely older cruising crowd (a lot just looked a bit confused). A very slick multi-media production. The ports were great, and we had pre-booked princess excursions which were mostly excellent. If you go to Grand Cayman, the stingrays are super friendly and dont miss them. A few of the things we have previously loved, like the Vines bar, and the Movies under the stars, were not as good as on previous cruises, but the other improvements made up for it. the ocean medallion experience was great and worked well. We loved it and will book again soon. Read Less

We wanted to experience the Panama Canal and go somewhere warm in January so we booked this cruise and had a fabulous time. We arrived in sunny Fort Lauderdale and stayed at the Marriott North for a couple of days Pre-Cruise. It is a nice Marriott and a good price since it isn’t on the beach. We took Uber to the port and it was very easy. We arrived at 11:30 and we were boarding soon after. The embarkation couldn’t have gone smoother. We are Platinum next cruise and will speed things along even faster. We had lunch in the DaVinci dining room and they announced the staterooms were open before 1:00 which was a nice surprise. This was our third trip on the Emerald and she didn’t disappoint. We have had some fun cruises on the Emerald and the ship isn’t brand new anymore but still very pretty and in good shape. We always seem to have a good crew on this ship and the staff seems happy and eager to please. We had a wonderful stateroom steward, probably one of the best we have ever had. He was friendly and anticipated our every need. We had traditional early seating at 5:15 which was a little early but the late seating is too late for us. My husband is on a very low sodium diet and the head waiter gave him the menu every night for the next night so he could Pre order and they prepared his meals low sodium. We ate in the dining room all but two nights and really enjoyed our waiter and assistant. We thought the food was good in the dining room. I always am amazed that people complain on these reviews about the food. If I don’t have to shop for it, cook it or clean up after then it is great for me. We certainly found something on the menu to eat every night and didn’t come home lighter! The buffet was good as were the hamburgers by the pool. We had escargot, lobster, beef tenderloin, steak, lots of shrimp and scallops and enjoyed every bite. The entertainment was enjoyable. The new Rock Opera which debuted on the Emerald this sailing (it is also on the Sky I believe) was absolutely superb! The singers and dancers on this cruise were tremendous. We had some other really good guest performers that were very talented and some good magicians and comedians. The Princess theater was packed every show and for the 7:30 show you had to arrive at least 30 minutes early to get a seat. I really think it would help if Princess would add a third showtime or repeat the shows because every passenger seemed to want to go to the theater every night. I noticed lots of people brought books to read while waiting. We also had Medallion Net Wifi and we were able to text, email and call if we wanted. It is really a game changer if you need WiFi. Most of the basketball games that my husband NEEDED to see were on a ESPN channel in the stateroom but one that wasn’t on ESPN he was able to keep up with it online. I however went to the theater since I don’t require basketball at sea. We had a balcony booked but this cruise was over sold so they offered us an amazing deal to give up our balcony and move to an inside cabin. Well that was ok but the inside they moved us to had two more berths that fold down from the wall. These extra beds just stuck out from the wall and made the room seem so much smaller and we both cracked our head on them a couple of times. That was a bummer. Fortunately we were aft Riviera deck so it was a quick escape to the terrace pool and bar and outside seating which helped us to not kill each other in that cabin for 15 days. We really enjoyed the ports since they were all new to us. We did a couple of private excursions (in Cartagena and Nicaragua) and a great Princess excursion to the Starbucks Hacienda Coffee Plantation in Costa Rica. We had an awesome guide and a delicious lunch. It was a small group of 10 in a van which made it so nice. It was well worth the money. Starbucks gave us the VIP treatment too. We were on our own in Huatulco which was ok. There isn’t much at the port (some restaurants and shopping) so I would book a tour if I went back. Puerto Vallarta was beautiful and we took a taxi (7.00 each way for the taxi not per person but you need exact change and we tipped a couple of dollars) to the Malecon boardwalk and it was fine with lots of shopping and restaurants and walking along the ocean and downtown. The day of the Panama Canal crossing was an all day event and was fantastic. We were up at 6:00 am with the other 3000 spectators but there were plenty of places to watch the crossing. The most popular spot was Lido deck all the way forward where they opened the unmarked doors to the very front of the ship. They even served mimosas up there which was festive. We went through the new locks and it was a marvel. There was a commentator that talked us through the Canal and he was very interesting. He did a number of port lectures as well which we didn’t attend but watched them in our stateroom later. His name is Bill Fall and he was very knowledgeable and interesting. The first two sea days were really bouncy. I think we were having high winds so I don’t think it was normal. When we arrived in Cartagena it was calm and stayed very calm until we left Puerto Vallarta and headed toward LA. The seas were not quite as calm and the temperature dropped to the 60’s for the two days back to Los Angeles. Disembarkation was also very organized and we were off by 8:30 then took an Uber to LAX and were there in plenty of time for a 12:10 flight. We enjoyed this cruise very much. We found the majority of the staff and crew to be very friendly and efficient. We went to a Meet and Greet with our roll call and enjoyed meeting the Captain and several other officers that attended and spoke. They were warm and approachable. The Captain was really delightful and we saw him often around the ship. He seemed to enjoy talking to passengers and answering questions. Read Less

My wife and I have multiple things to celebrate (35th anniversary, both healthy after medical scares, etc...) and decided that a two week cruise through the Panama Canal was just the ticket. We enjoyed everything about the cruise. Both embarkation and disembarkation went smoothly and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Our last 2 cruises were on RCL and the staff on those ships treated us like we were annoying if we asked for anything. On this trip on the Emerald, the staff treated us wonderfully, from the front desk to our steward, the dining room, and bar staff. We spent a lot of time at the back of the ship by Terrace Pool. The bartender and staff learned our names and called them out whenever we walked out onto the deck! We splurged more than normal on this cruise and had a mini-suite. We loved the extra room and spent quite a bit of time on the balcony. The only minor complaint would be that the couch in our room seemed quite old and uncomfortable. It should be replaced. The food was pretty good. I found it to be more of a variety than other cruises I've been on, but still got to be repeated too much on a 15 day cruise. But, we did not go hungry! We had some wonderful excursions, and the trip through the canal was awesome! The commentary offered was really great. We also met some really nice people from all over the world. All-in-all, we had a great 15 days! Read Less

Great anytime dining experience, the 'Vines' wine bar was a great way to socialize before dinner. Piazza entertainment each night while having a glass before dinner. Stateroom was clean and well kept by our able steward. The ports were all interesting in their own way, Dominica was still suffering the effects of a past hurricane, organization was lacking here. Movies under the Stars was a little hit or miss, sometimes the sound was just bad. Theatre productions were all top notch, the comedians were both very entertaining and kept it clean, thanks for that. The Medallion experience is very convenient, allowing you to access your drink package anywhere, anytime. Every beer on their menu was covered by the package and very few cocktails were excluded based on the $12 cap. You just pay the extra buck or two on your folio if your drink cost more than the cap. I tried mixed cocktails I would never otherwise pay for in real life! Fabulous coffee bars, I suggest going to the Coffee & Cones for your morning 'Americano', no line up. Usually a short line at the International Cafe coffee bar. Liquor bars everywhere! Wheelhouse was a great spot for a pre-dinner drink, often had a singer, guitarist performing. Read a travel guide and figure out what YOU want to see on the island and then walk ashore and hire a taxi yourself, negotiate a fair price and you will have a great experience. Don't worry about being back on time, nothing is that far away! Read Less

Great Panama Canal experience! The Caribbean Princess is an older ship with great upgrades and a fantastic crew! The Cruise Director was unbelievable and was a huge asset to the fun on the cruise. The waitstaff in the dining rooms were great and worked together to make your ding experience a great one! The ships decor was terrific and the flow of the activity decks seemed you were on a much smaller ship. I loved the International Cafe for there fresh Lattes and service. A great friendly smile to start your day. The Guest Services Desk was always full of employees to help with you issues, not like other cruise lines that have a skeleton crew (NCL) to service your needs.Overall, the Princess cruise line is trying and staying way in front of their competition with there Medallian program which is helping non techy's like me to feel GOOD! I hope they continue to be way in front and accommodating! Thanks Princess Cruise Line! Read Less

I have never been on a cruise before and I came in with little to no expectations and a positive attitude. At first I was overwhelmed with amount of action going on and the small rooms, food etc. But after the initial first day, which was stressful because of flying and nothing with the Princess cruise line, everything worked out. Sure, we did not go on one of our port stops due to weather, but safety was the priorty and I understood that. Also, the staff was INCREDIBLE!! Everyone was so personal, kind and nice! Spoiled me rotten from such great service. Entertainment was great and the whole time I was enjoying, having a blast and was always satisfied with everything. And if at any point I had any issues, they were quickly resolved. The game shows and entertainment was too notch, they have things for kids, teens and in betweens. And obviously adults and older adults as well. We watched a movie outside and ate ice cream, I mean what could be better? So all in all, the best vacation of my life. I would totally reccomend. For a lot of people who complain on these forums, these people are natural complainers so I would take it with a grain of salt. I had an awesome time and would 100000 percent reccommend. Read Less

Totally satisfied with the entire cruise experience! All the Princess Cruise people were so helpful, bent over backwards to help you. Food was excellent, service was excellent! Saw some reviews that the Caribbean Princess was dated. I did not, enjoyed the art, especially deck 6 entry to the theater. Do go at least 30 minutes prior to the events. I would highly recommend the Caribbean Princess, and would sail on it again. Also purchase the shore excursions well in advance they sell out very fast. The Princess cruise excursions were very good. It’s worth any extra costs to book thru them for the security of knowing they will wait for you. We did Panama canal partial crossing, It was sufficient. They went thru 1st 3 locks to Gatoon Lake. They dropped off Princess excursions to buses for all Princess passengers. Did the Old Panama city Pacific side tour with 1 hour stop at original canal Lock. Ship was going thru being pulled by 4 engines. Fascinating, definitely best shore excursion ever. Highly recommend!!!!!! One other note, If you do a tour you only see half the transit thru The new locks, for me it was fine Seeing the original canal lock and Pacific side on the excursion. Trip of a lifetime! Highly recommend! Read Less

We have cruised with Princess over fifteen times. The service, food and drink staff were outstanding on the Sky. The medallion worked great, the staff greeted us and had our drink orders almost instantly. Our balcony cabin on the Sun deck was modest in Interior size but had a nice deck for two reclining chairs. Being right next to the adult pool was very convenient. Entertainment was wonderful, the Rock Opera was a stand out. Our late dining crew jumped at every request. The chefs table dinner was truly extraordinary, very lucky to have been chosen. The events crew always had lots of activities for us to participate in. The shops were expensive, especially for jewelry. The daily afternoon tea truly differentiates Princess in the luxury cruise market. Spa service was very personalized and not overpriced. Ability to check our invoice in the room or on our I phone was wonderful. The internet service has to be reset once or twice but the best service I experienced at sea. All in all the best cruise we have ever experienced on Princess, highly recommended. Read Less

Sky Princess Jan 11, 2020 cruise. Awesome and a beautiful ship. Pastels, tans, blues, green. Low maintenance construction. Chrome, stainless, anodized aluminum, PVC over the outside railings. Rubber gaskets for the windows, not calking, brass, wood of different varieties. All beautifully executed. Music just about everywhere, all the bingo and trivia you can handle. More than any other ship we were ever on. Casino has multitudes of new slots. We donated. Bingo was hosted by “Fortuna Luck” That is what she called herself. An excellent bingo host. Lots of fun. Rafel Urdaneta worked in the Casino and gave out the bingo cards and the pads. Could never do enough for everyone. Always helpful and a smile. The best deal was $69.00. You get the pad with 36 cards on it, a triple card for four games and a $5.00 scratch off. Last game, last day of the cruise cover all gave away over $2,700.00 won by 3 people. Over $900.00 each. Not us. 7 bingo sessions, not every day. Some twice a day. Trivia was done in a way all ships should do it. Deck 7 Live with a large screen. In large letters. Gives the Question and number. So even if the host has a heavy accent, you can easily read it. Every day was enjoyable. Slice pizza we did not care for. However Alfredo’s pizza and service was excellent. Our server Nipan Kalita was on the ball and always a smile. The steak house was no good and no service either. Terrible! First to be seated at 5:00PM. Decided no appetizer. Wanted to get to the 6:30PM show. Ordered the Filet Minion. 40 min. later it showed up. Steak and the mashed potatoes were warm and did not bring my asparagus. The waiter never returned to our table. Finally got the desert and left. 6:40PM. Never made it to the show. No excuse for that. By the way. The filet was on tough side, no flavor either. They need to learn from Alfredo’s. Carnival still has the very best at sea steak house. We no longer do the MDR. Only the buffet and the specialty restaurants. The buffet is super big. No lines and never a problem finding a table. Utensils are wrapped up in the napkin and on the tables. In the evening, it is like a restaurant. Place mats and stemmed glasses for water. Anyone will get your drink for you, even the bar. Kept the tables cleaned. The food itself could be hotter. However the variety was excellent. Quality was also excellent and the deserts were unbelievable. Not just cake. Comedian was very good, magician was excellent. Rock Opera was excellent. Had no real problems at all with the elevators. Just those that enjoy packing themselves in one that is already full. Our balcony state room E429 was very nice but, very small. Including the super small bath room. Shower was fine. Cruised on 30+ different ships. This was the smallest by far. Beds were very comfortable and our room steward Thomas from India, was up and above. The best we ever had. So all in all, a very enjoyable cruise with really no down side. Our first evening we had super rough seas and the coat hangers kept banging the open closet walls. You can see what I did to stop it in the picture. Put a towel over the hangers. The medallion worked fine. However the daily things to do before you take the cruise is not the same. It changes. So do not do what I did. Figure out what you want to do each day in advance. A waste of time. Do we recommend the Sky Princess.? We sure do. Read Less

We took this cruise because it is a new ship and the Princess name would give us a more mature crowd with less children. The plan worked great , not many children and adult ages were mostly 50s to 70s . The cabin was standard , Balcony could be larger .Cabin was new and everything worked with no problem. The bed was very soft and comfortable . Great band every night in the atrium ( they called it the piazza area ). Old folks like to dance to 60s through todays pop dance tunes and we went every night to dance with that band. The Medallion that is your room key didn't always work or connect correctly . there were four of us in our group and all had the same issue. Make no mistake , It is not easy to set up the Medallion on the ship. You will need help and will find help I think it was on deck 5 ? The Medallion did work great with embarkation as long as you do the prep work at home before the cruise. al in all I think when they get the bugs out it is much better then the cabin card . It did work great to find fellow passengers location on the ship and give you directions to find them. We had open seating and that worked out for us . The food was great in the dinning rooms .We did not use any specialty dinning options. The food court was typical of other cruises . Hamburger station could be better ( our last cruise had a Guys hamburger grill that is hard to beat ). The food court ,Hamburger grill and Pizza bar closed early every night at 10 PM . So that after the main show in the theater if you wanted to get something to eat you were limited to a small snack bar on I think it was deck 4 ? Not much to choose from. I guess because It was an older crowd and the ship did get quiet after 10:30 pm. There is an Alfredos pizza on deck 7 that was included and there was no additional charge .Its a sit down great pizza and salad restaurant but also closes at 10 PM. Room steward was great , refilled toiletries every night . No towel animals but ive seen enough of that, this was my 13th cruise. Princess main theater was great ! Live Orchestra with a real drummer ! I hate it when they dance to backtracks . A backtrack is like a glorified karaoke system . The live band and dancers , Magician and comedian were great . Don't miss the shows ! No problem getting a lounge chair on upper decks, a lot lot of older folks sit in the shade. "The Sanctuary " is on the upper deck and reservations can be made to use it by the half or full day . I went on embarkation day but they were all booked up . You can only book the Sanctuary on the ship . This was free on the Carnival Horizon ship that I went on last year . Carnival called it the "serenity" , it also was an adult area . Don't waist your money , instead go to deck 17 forward and go to the " Retreat pool " also an adult area and free . I do wish there were more cooking type classes . We did a wine tasting class that was nice but there was a charge for this , I think $25 per person , My sister paid so im not sure of the cost. I do need to point out that on this cruise there was a group of over 600 guests with a Polka group . we didn't know this when we booked . This group would have large Entertainment areas and sometimes two areas at the same time closed to only them . this went on all week and had taken what I thought would be Entertainment areas for us as well . No way would they let us in ! Just not right. We paid just as much and from what I understand even more then these guests . In closing, We did have a great time and would take another Princess cruise mostly because of the quality of the food , the live band Entertainment and the age group of the guests. And oh yes , the Captain was funnier then the cruise director . Bye Bye ! Read Less

Thirty eight years ago we boarded Royal Caribbeans Sun Viking for the first of 46 cruises.. On this January 16, 2020 we see the lights of Ft Lauderdale as we sail up the Stranahan channel on this warm Florida morning. The reality of the moment is here. We are now in our 80's and the rigors of travel have finally caught up. This is our " LAST CRUISE." We chose our favorite ship, Crown Princess. She fits us like a glove. This is a review of the trip. On Jan 6 we boarded our Delta jet for our flight to Fort Lauderdale. Weather in Detroit was 33 degrees. Upon arrival in Fort Lauderdale it was 72 degrees. We arrived at the terminal, picked up our Elete Medallons and were quickly in our stateroom, B632 aft. Our room was very pretty with new carpets and soothing colors. Our Steward left much to be desired. Lets leave it at that Special note: On Jan 6, prior to sailing, we were advised due to mechanical issues that Princess Cay would be cancelled and we would have 2 sea days enroute to St Thomas. On Jan 9 we were again advised due to 40mph gale force winds that the Port of Antiqua is cancelled. On Jan 13 the Port of St Lucia is cancelled due to 50mph gale force winds and we would be sailing 3 days back to Port Everglades. The end result was on this 10 day cruise, we would have 6 days at sea. We did encounter very rough seas and would proceed to Barbados. We were ok from Barbados to St Lucia. Enroute to ST Kitts we were advised due to 50mph gale force winds the port is cancelled and we would sail 3 days back to Port Everglades. On this 10 day cruise, 6 days were spent at sea. We tried to explain to the first time cruisers that this does happen but it was unusual for this time of year. The Crown. This was our 5th time on the ship. She was refurbed in 2016 but we did notice she was wearing a bit around the edges. Some carpet was showing wear in spots. A few carpet seams we coming apart. We did notice the overhead on our balcony was showing a lot of rust, something we had not seen before. We did have problems with our balcony door and a television that kept turning it's self off. We learned the meaning of the term "Reboot." Overall she is in excellent condition. There was a much to do if you wanted to participate. Bingo and many trivia games through out the day. In the beautiful Atriun there was always something going on both day and in the evening. The computer room was always busy. Movies Under the Stars was popular. Do a lot or do little. Thats the beauty of cruising. Service on board was 5 star +. Dining rooms, Horizion Court, The Main Desk including the entire Crew. Princess has the best service of any cruise line on which we have sailed. This being our cruise #46 we have visited these ports on many occasions. St Thomas for example, 21 times. We did not take any tours but visited the port side shops. The early days of cruising all Eastern Caribbean cruises visited Nassau, San Juan and St Thomas. Times certainly have changed ! Food is subjective. We would rate it good but not great. We only ate in the Da Vinci dining a few nights. One night service was very slow. The menu included soups, salads and a nice variety of Entrees The Horizon Court was a different story, breakfast was not the greatest. Easy over eggs always cold. Link sausage cold half the time. However there was always a good variety of food. Breakfast in the dining room was always good, nice selection and food was always hot. Lunch and dinner in the Horizon offered many choices, mostley good. There was always a different theme each night. I lived at "Slice" the best pizza at sea. The Salty Dog pub offered great hamburgers, hot dogs, fries and chicken sandwiches etc, This is just our opinion and we are sure other passengers saw it different. Service was A+ in the Horizon. Princess also had two Pub Lunches. Real British food. Princess entertainment has always been tremendous. They had a couple of great comedians, two excellent girl singers and of course the big Production Shows,Magic to Do and Blame it on the Boogie. We would like to mention A J Clark. He played the piano and sang. He packed the Princess Theater and the Explorer Lounge when he appeared. He also gave two lectures on the "American Songbook." Outstanding ! British Pub Night in then Explorer Lounge was great fun for all. Princess knows the entertainment business. We did a few kids around the ship but beyond that we are unable to comment. It is difficult to say "last" cruise but there comes a time when you must face reality. The reality of aging. We stand on deck this warm morning having faced this reality. Are we sad ? Heavens no ! My bride of 62 years and I have been blessed to sail on so many cruise ships. Psalms 107 says, "They that go down to sea on ships see God's works and the wonders of the deep" We have witnesses these wonders 46 times. How many people can say that ? For Embarkation we tried Princess" EZ Check." For $25 pp we filled out a form and turned it in at the Main Desk. The final night we received printed Boarding Passes along with special Luggage Tags. Our luggage was picked up outside our stateroom and the next time we saw it was at Detroit Metro This also allows you to disembark anytime you choose, first, last or in between. When we arrived at Ft Lauderdale Airport, we showed our boarding passes and Passports to TSA and went directly to the Security check point then to our boarding gate It has been our pleasure to share our cruise Read Less

We went down on the 10 day To Barbados as a nice warm area there. We liked the time of year in January to escape the snows at home. Princess has good reviews and the cruise and food was great! We ate one night in the steak house and it was great and only cost an extra $28. Apiece and an excellent meal! All of the dinners in the main dining room were great every night! A good menu with a wide variety of selections and every night a new menu was very nice! The dining service was superb by our waiter Joel! Don’t buy the bar drink package it is overpriced at $700. Apiece and you can’t share it. No way could we have drank the 15 drink a days it offered! Our whole bar bill for 2 of us was less than that! And do bring on your own case of water and 2 bottles of wine for your room. I don’t like paying $2. Plus for bottles of water 5x a day! The spa was great I had several massages and Mildred the masseuse is the best! The daily lectures were very good to by staff. The fitness center was great and Igor the trainer was great! Very few come to the classes and it was really worth buying the class card as you get individual attention and training! The fitness center and spa are very clean to! The stateroom was very clean and twice daily service was very nice! Our steward Joel on the Emerald deck was great and the best ever! Since our cruise could not stop at 3 ports due to bad weather then Princess gave everyone a 35 percent credit off next cruise to use within a year. I thought this was very nice of them! I will definitely cruise with Princess again the service and food was superb! Read Less

We love the Princess ships, food, staff, entertainment and itineraries. I say no matter what because even with us not being able to dock at 3 of the 6 ports due to weather conditions and mechanical problems with a generator, Princess did a great job of making up for it by giving us a good discount to apply on a future cruise. I’ve heard of other cruise companies not doing this, so that’s another good reason to choose Princess. Let me also say that the food was excellent, in both the dining rooms and the buffet as well as the specialty restaurants and fast food places. We had a fantastic hamburger at the Salty Grill and the pizza was really good too. Entertainment was first class and the steward for our room was a great guy, always with a smile on his face and asking if we need anything. Like I said, Princess is our only choice from now on for cruises. Read Less

My husband and I had a great time on our first Princess cruise. We will definitely said Princess again. * Overall - the Regal Princess is a great ship and really hit a sweet spot for us. It is big enough to have lots of dining choices and things to do without feeling too crowded or overwhelming. We are an active couple in our 60's who enjoy food and wine. Regal also hit the sweet spot for us of feeling a little more sophisticated and just a bit quieter (as opposed to Carnival, Norwegian, and Disney which we enjoyed but wanted a more adult experience). Some specifics: * Food and drink - we thought the food was almost always very good and sometimes excellent. We didn't do the buffet, so can't comment. We did anytime dining, mostly in Symphony. Excellent service and we were happy with our choices at dinner. We loved Alfredo's for lunch - good pizza and antipasti. Food on the pool deck was fine. We loved the sushi at Ocean. Good wine program, did two fun wine tastings. Service at bars was quick and friendly. Loved International Cafe - good coffee, convenient food any time, comfortable setting. Only tweaks we would like to see: breakfast menu in MDR needs refreshing and they need appropriate wine glasses in the MDR. If you care about wine, it will irritate you not to have a decent red wine glass.  * embarkation/debarkation: incredibly quick and smooth. The Medallion really makes a different. Smoothest of any cruise line we have ever tried. Kudos! * speaking of Medallion: we loved it, although they still have a couple of kinks to work out. They need to communicate better before the cruise begins that you have to download at least two apps to make it work. Also loved the idea of ordering drinks from the app, but doesn't work perfectly yet. * public spaces: one of the things we liked best about Regal as opposed to other lines we have tried is that there are a lot of great places, indoor and out, to sit around, read, drink, play cards, and hang out. The piazza works especially well - lively and always lots of people, but you could always find a place to do your own thing.  * entertainment: we really liked the mix they had of large and small venues. We went to a couple of shows and enjoyed them well enough - not Broadway, but well staged and enjoyable. We especially liked the smaller acts, especially the two violinist and the Beatlemaniacs dance party in the piazza. We enjoyed the movies under the stars option also. Service: excellent, friendly service everywhere including our cabin steward Jonathan. We didn't have a single bad experience. Read Less

There was a lot of gray hair on this cruise, including my own. The ship was prepared for the cruisers with the selection of music played throughout the ship, both live and canned, were age appropriate . There were two levels of adult only pool areas, one free and for a fee. The best part was the minimum announcements. Due to location, we have cruised mostly with Carnival, but no more. The Carnival CD's (and those on RCCL and NCL) make too many sales pitches under the guise of information. The food on Lido was very good including my favorites Indian and Mexican. The bread/rolls were also excellent, hard on the outside and soft in the middle. Entertainment included only one comedian, wished for more, and a Beatles Mania show. Both were great, Come early to get a seat. The stateroom, beyond the usual, had a 46" LCD TV, not only that, it had live TV shows and recorded TV shows and movies for free! After a hard day of eating and lounging in the sun, it was a pleasure to be a couch potato for a few hours. Service was excellent, keep up the great job Denchai, our cabin steward. Embarkation and disembarkation smooth and at least 40 minutes ahead of schedule. Read Less

We chose this cruise as we wanted to totally relax and as we had been to St. Thomas and St. Maarten before and LOVE both these ports, we knew we could just meander about, take our time and enjoy the sea days as well as ports. This cruise was to celebrate our retirement and was perfect in every way. Having been on numerous cruise lines in the past as well as 4 other Princess cruises, we found ourselves always saying "this is much better on Princess." An example … my husband purchased a drinks package - I do not drink much at all so did not feeling if I wanted an occasional drink, I could buy one. On other cruise lines, both of us would have to buy the drinks package, they wouldn't let one person only in the cabin buy one. For dining, we had any time dining as each day is different and we wanted the flexibility of different times / meeting different people. We never had to wait, no matter what time we chose. On other cruise lines, unless a reservation was made, there was definitely a wait! Medallion class ship - way ahead of the curve on other lines - as you approach your door, the medallion unlocks it, you tap to get on/off the ship, order food/drinks, etc - well done Princess. My favourite though was abilitiy from the app on our phones to find my husband - the best! The staff - very customer-service focused. Again on other ships at breakfast, you automatically got your own coffee/juice at the buffet which I always do. On Regal, as soon as you sat down, someone was there offering coffee and whatever type of juice you would like. Similarly, when finished, the plate was taken away. While they were very unobtrusive, they were there magically when you needed them. Dining room food was amazing. Again, on other cruise lines, to get the level of food we had in the dining room, we had to go to speciality restaurants. No need on Regal - the food was top class in the dining room with lobster, lamb, Beef Wellington, etc and many other quality choices normally only served in the specialties. Entertainment: - again ahead of the curve - not only with their production shows and props which were totally amazing and professional but they had the rights to "the voice" - which the called "Voice of the Ocean - with same stage set-up with chairs/judges, etc. - well done Princess! As always, we love "Movies under the Stars". Cruise director was great and a natural comedian - I always judge the entertainment by how good the cruise director is and this one did not disappoint! Lots of choices also in other eating venues - the International Café is one of our favourites with cappuchinos, lattes, etc. but I could also get my favourite soy milk if I asked for it. Breakfast sandwiches, fabulous voghurt parfaits, lunch salads, sandwiches, deserts that are out of this world and much more and all free. Some other cruise lines have converted their cafes into Starbucks that is not free - these things all add up. Alfredos is another free restaurant that makes fabulous home-made pizza, calzones, pasta, etc. - a real find and scrumptious. Outside food such as the grills, BBQ's ice cream are available constantly and great. We love the ports on this cruise. For us the idea was to relax with not too many shore excursions as our last cruise on a different line was chock full of excursions in Europe so the idea was to take it easy - mission accomplished. Princess Cays offered a free beach trip with wonderful catered BBQ lunch and everything you could want including the turquoise clear water of the Bahamas. A very relaxing day. For us, we love to wander around St. Thomas and St. Martin is our favourite island. The shops in both locales are great and for us, we love there are so many, especially jewellery as it is a great way to compare and get the best deals. St. Martin has the benefit of the dutch and French side including the myriad of shops in Phillipsburg and the great boardwalk next to the beach which is also stunning with a great backgroup of mountains reaching as far as the eye can see. We went to Maho beach area as we had stayed in a hotel there before and it was great to see it had totally recovered from the hurricane. Lovely mall at the port - Havensight which we adore walking around on our way back from town. The main thing about these ports - totally safe and amazing friendliness of the residents - make you feel valued. Sea days offered lots of options with line dancing, bingo, unusual competitions, etc - just wonderful. This cruise, I can honestly say, made me feel I do not want another cruise line, except Princess - the best cruise out of the 16 we have taken to date! We also had a VIP casino offer on this cruise and the casino spoiled us with many lovely gifts and amazing service. Read Less

My partner and I went on this cruise to celebrate his parent's anniversary and mothers birthday, thus is was actually selected by them, and they brought the whole family along. They've cruised many times, but this was our first. We felt a bit too young to be on a cruise (early 40's), but we still had a lot of fun. The Regal Princess is like a 5 star Vegas hotel on the water. It was a big ship, but it didn't feel too big. We could always find a spot to sit at the buffet or a bar / restaurant, but the pool areas sometimes became overcrowded. We were surprised at how quickly the embarkation process was, made quicker with the Ocean Medallion, a fantastic innovation. Our interior, no-window cabin was lovely. Not terribly spacious, but clean and well laid out, with sufficient storage and responsive HVAC. I must say the entire reason I'm writing this review is to highlight our amazing cabin steward, Cecile! Cecile introduced herself to us right after we got into our room, and made us feel instantly at home. We had a lovely conversation, and everything just 'clicked'. I've worked in hotels for 15 years, including 5 years at the 5 Star / 5 Diamond Shangri-La hotel, Toronto, and I know that some people just "have it", and Cecile is one of these people. If people like Cecile are what Princess Cruises are all about, I don't even want to try anyone else. Dining on the ship was also above average. The buffet seemed endless, and most of the food was very tasty, and not too bland, like you'd find at many resorts. We dined a few times at Alfredo's, again mostly because of the excellent service of one individual (though I cannot recall her name!), and also did the timed dining twice, at the Symphony dining room. No complaints. We're not very much into live entertainment, so tried to steer clear of it most nights, but the female guitarist they had stood out. Live music is usually too loud, but it actually wasn't on this cruise, something we were surprised to find. It was relatively easy to find a quiet spot for a drink too. The experience was very relaxing for the most part, with the exception being the pool area, which was always quite busy. Too busy much of the time. It feels like a ship this size should have a larger main pool, or even more additional pool areas. If the ship is ever remodeled, they should remove the enormous centre fountain (which wasn't working), and expand the pool. That might be my only real complaint, and even it was not that bad. Overall, we had a great time, and would do another cruise in a second if we thought we could meet Cecile again. Read Less

This was an awesome way to spend our family vacation. One of our favorite things for our family was our 7:45 traditional dining with our amazing waiters Apichat “Api” and Dandreve “Dan”. They went above and beyond every night at dinner to make us have a wonderful time. They made our experience perfect! Our whole trip was wonderful! The shore excursion on St. Marteen that we did was the America’s Cup sailing race. That was an amazing excursion. We loved it and would highly recommend it. All of the crew on the Regal were very helpful, friendly and attentive to anything we needed. The port of call at Princess Cays was excellent. We were very impressed with how nice that port was and having food available on the island was awesome. We rented a Hobie sailboat and enjoyed being able to do that. Our ship was the only one there, which was really nice. It would not have been near as good if it had been crowded. We enjoyed all aspects of our cruise! Read Less

Princess provides the cruise experience that suits me perfectly. Ships and personnel always meet my expectations for a pleasant voyage. I get a kick when the ship's horns sometimes play the Love Boat theme when we depart a port and when competing cruise lines are maneuvering in port. The food on Princess ships has always been excellent, but the food on this Regal Princess cruise, especially Horizon Court and Bistro buffets, exceeded the quality and variety of all previous sailings. Facilities are well-maintained in all areas. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Our stateroom was spotless when we boarded, and was kept that way by our stateroom steward Pedro. Boarding in Ft. Lauderdale was crowded and awkward and somewhat hectic. The Terminal 2 building is under renovation which I hope will make things better when completed. We returned to a different port terminal than the one from which we embarked. Disembarking could have been greatly improved with proper signage directing us to the complimentary shuttle service back to the parking garage at Terminal 2. Read Less

We had a four generation cruise on Sky Princess. We were a group of eight with the oldest 78yrs and the youngest 4yrs. The ship is so accessible it met the needs of the whole family. My mother used a wheel chair. We had two mini suites M220 and L219. The suites were roomy and had lots room for every ones suitcases and clothing. The ship was huge but easy enough to navigate. The hardest part was knowing which were the odd and even hallways. It would be nice to have a sign that you can see when you come out of the elevators. The food was great and the staff were excellent. We had early dining 5pm in the Estrella Dining room. Our waiters were Gerry and Axel, they were amazing. Gerry always made sure my grandson got his hotdog with no relish early so he could go to the kids club and we could enjoy our meal. Axel always remembered our drinks and made sure we had everything we needed. On our first night my grandson was falling asleep in his chair and the lady in charge, with the short blonde hair brought him an extra chair and a pillow so he could sleep. We were so impressed. The kids club was amazing, my four year old grandson had so much fun and made so many friends. The staff are so patient and seem to really enjoy their job. We loved the entertainment staff. We spent most nights in Princess Live because there was only a couple of shows in the theatre we wanted to see. The Rock Opera show was really good. We were there an hour early to get seats. The show fills up fast. We didn't watch the movies under the stars. Again there wasn't really anything we wanted to watch The pools were fun but loungers were hard to get. We had the best luck at the wake pool. It is nice to sit in the pool and the ocean through the window. We had a great time and found that there was something for everyone.. Read Less

We chose this cruise because we had not visited most of these ports yet and Princess is our primary cruise line. We also wanted to experience Sky Princess, since it's the newest ship we have ever cruised. We enjoyed it greatly. It's a beautiful ship. We had hired Victor Rosales of Mahahaul EcoTours for a day of birding in Costa Maya. We went to several different areas and saw some colorful species that were new to us. Victor also included a delicious lunch at a little beach-side cafe in Mahahual. He is well-trained, educated and experienced and speaks fluent English as well as his native Spanish. He also does other types of tours as well, specializing in small groups. I would be happy to use Victor again anytime. While in Cozumel, we took the Princess excursion to Tulum. Our tour guide, Marco Polo, was great and quite informative. While in Roatan, we contacted Jensen Wesley and he drove us to the Carambola Gardens as well as Sandy Bay where I was able to do some great snorkeling. We enjoyed being off the beaten track there so it was not crowded with people. Jensen was very helpful and we were lucky to connect with him. Sky Princess is a bit larger ship than we usually book but it did not feel crowded most of the time. However, anytime dining did have long waits if one went to dinner after about 6:00pm, which we usually do. Food in all venues was excellent. We did not use the specialty restaurants. Our balcony stateroom was super and even though quite forward, ship motion was very minimal. Captain Tuvo of Sky Princess is a real treat too. The fitness room is well equipped. The casino is good and has a computerized Texas Holdem table that made for some good poker games. The Medallion system worked well on board although we did not download the app for use on our phones. The ship's internet was the fastest we have ever used on a cruise. Read Less

Interested in the Panama Canal primarily but the whole itinerary was very appealing. We explored our departure city (Fort Lauderdale) before the cruise (1 night). Embarkation and disembarking was a breeze - so well organized, easy and quick. Ship has been refurbished so looked new. Cabins were typical sizes and there were good dining options on the ship. The entertainment was phenomenal both at the various bars and the theatre. The service at all times at all locations was impeccable. Our cabin was immaculate at all times. The bar service was excellent. The Medallion experience was outstanding. Every cruise line should offer this option on their ships. It made the boarding process so quick and monitoring ship activities or ordering food and drinks anywhere on the ship was so convenient. I would recommend this ship and itinerary. The itinerary included Fort Lauderdale, Panama Canal, Falmouth in Jamaica, Cartegena in Columbia and Limon in Costa Rica. It was a diverse itinerary that covered every interest. Read Less
