Misleading, but overall good

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Ruby Princess

What made this trip was the itinerary!!! I liked that we didn’t have to sign after each purchase with the uncomfortable feeling of needing to tip extra with our special drink and dining package. The ship didn’t feel crowded even though it was at full capacity. The ship was clean and staff was great. Carpets in halls need to be changed or shampooed. My room needed updated blow dryer. My mom had a ...

We enjoyed the itinerary or ports of call visited. Cartagena and going through the Panama Canal were the highlights. I would suggest that the descriptions of the excursions include how long the bus rides are. We spent 3 hours in a bus going to the Rain forest in Costa Rica and saw only birds and lizards/frogs at the destination. We did see monkeys and a sloth during the ride there. The ...

Ruby Princess needs a complete overhaul of her plumbing etc. There were extensive problems with toilets not working, flooding in some cabins and even the kitchen got flooded. There was a fire in the crew area on the last night as well as a sudden listing to one side. Several people were picked up by ambulances when we got to Ft Lauderdale in the morning. Don't know what that was related ...

We chose this cruise because it was a complete transit of the Panama Canal. The cruise had 5 stops plus a full day transiting the canal. Stops were Puerto Vallarta and Huatulco, Mexico; Puntarenas, Costa Rica; Panama City, Panama; and Cartagena, Columbia. We booked local tours through Travel Advisor for all ports but Puntarenas which we booked through Princess. The Princess tour in ...

Disappointed Elite Member. Nice cruise but Princess can do better.

I'm an Elite passenger with Princess and have been a strong supporter of the line for many years. I chose the cruise mainly due to the dates as it was one of only a few offerings in March for 10+ days. Though the staff couldn't have been nicer, nor more professional, the ship itself suffers from some areas of neglect and Princess would be wise to make the needed upgrades. Just to name a few, ...

Hi going on a Panama Cruise is quite limiting in the choice of ships you can take. We did chose a mini balcony suite on the Port side of the Carribbean Princess to see the best views of the canal crossing. They said the boat was renovated but it certainly could use another renovation, its just not modern or have any notable modern rooms or artwork. The balcony advertised to be much larger is ...

Our review is based solely on our personal observation on this 15 day cruise. For us, never again will we take that long of a cruise. The main reason is that the guests are generally seniors,, We are 65 and 68 and we found most people considerably older than us and many have never heard the word restraint when using perfumes and other scented products. By day 10 my allergies were through ...

We had not sailed with Princess for many years, but this itinerary was just perfect for us so we booked it even with mediocre reviews. The ship was great, even perfect for a Panama canal experience as she has a lot of open decks and you could really experience the canal and the locks to the fullest with great, open views available everywhere: Great forward observation, open deck on deck 15, ...

All hat and no cattle 10 day Caribbean Princess December 2022 We have done 9 modern cruises - Norwegian x 3, Royal Caribbean x2, Holland America x2, MSC x1, and two off brand small boats--Amazon and Nile rivers. #10 is our first Princess. We were underwhelmed. Princess Cruises has invested a massive amount of money in big brother tech, and it is worth mentioning. This medallion is ...

Check in. I saw 2 lines, an elite line and a “Green line”. Green line is for those of us who have completed the medallion app documents, which I did. They put me in the elite line anyway since I’m elite, and both lines moved almost exactly the same. It took 42 minutes from the time we got in line to get on our way to the ship. I think in the past, prior to COVID, I never waited more than 10 ...
