Embarkation: VERY GOOD. We were on the ship within 25 minutes of dropping off our bags. Note for when sailing out of San Francisco, the port is off The Embarcadero and there was heavy traffic getting to the pier. We made the mistake of dropping off our luggage on the street a block south of the pier because of the traffic. If we had waited 5-10 more minutes, we could have dropped it off ...
We bid on an upgrade and were successful. Initially we were in a penthouse suite on Riviera deck. Room was too noisy to sleep so we requested a move. We were moved to Aloha deck at the back of the ship and unfortunately it was actually worse than the previous room. The guest service supervisor was rude and dismissive and told us we expected too much and should have spent more money on a better ...
The food and service was wonderful. Panana Canal was the Panana Canal. Cartegena was lovely as was Huatulco. Punteranus not so nice. 2 things ruined this cruise for us. 3 of us got COVID 19 around day 4 or 5. There was no screening and no masking at all. What made it worse was that everything was overcrowded. Hard to get a table at the buffet. Hard to get a seat in the theater. Everyting was ...
Greetings from aboard the Crown Princess! We are on a 16-day cruise to Hawaii, RT San Francisco.
I boarded the ship with great trepidation. The Cruise Critic comments about the ship and the itinerary caused me to think that perhaps we'd made a grave error in booking this cruise. However, that angst was put to rest the first day. While more traditional (vs. glitzy) in appearance, the ship ...
I chose this cruise because it was a good value for the money I paid for it. It was my 2nd time on Princess. I would cruise with this line again but it is not my favorite. The shore excursion to the Waimea Canyon in Kaua'i was awesome, as was the one to the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park in Hilo which included a stop at the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Factory. There were too many nights in which I ...
Words to describe our first time on Princess: average, uninspired, meh, just ok. We usually cruise on Royal Caribbean or Norwegian, but since Crown Princess had a sailing out of SF during our ski week, we decided to try it. Going in, I knew it would be a smaller ship without the activities of an Oasis class RC ship. What I didn't expect was how average it all was. Nothing blew us away.
We ...
We chose this cruise because we wanted a cruise longer than 7 days. We enjoy sea days and this one gave us 5 glorious days to relax. Embarkation was a mess as far as dropping off luggage, they appeared to only have 5 or 6 guys collecting luggage. Once we dropped our bags the rest was a breeze, basically walked through security and onboard.
Our cabin was in a great location, we chose the Lido ...
We chose this cruise mainly because it was going through the Panama Canal which was fantastic, but unfortunately two of the original stops got cancelled, the stop in San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua got cancelled just a short time after booking and Grand Cayman got cancelled as the swell was to bad for the tenders.
Pros:
All the staff were excellent
The Medallion App seemed to work well
The ...
DINING: This was our second Princess Cruise and the experience that impressed us the most was the elevated cuisine in the main dining room (Botticelli). Having previously sailed on Celebrity (Millenium), Holland America (Zuiderdam), Cunard (Queen Elizabeth), and Princess (Ruby), I would have rated Princess at the bottom of the list for dining. After this cruise on the Crown Princess, I would now ...
Wanted full passage Panama canal cruise and Emerald Princess delivered. I found this to be a mostly wonderfully cruise with fabulous entertainment and games galore. While it was his last assignment on Emerald, Fernando the cruise director was everywhere helping to entertaining guests with games and contests. The shows were great,, especially the premiere of ROCK OPERA. Balcony cabin on Baja 11 ...
