Had always wanted to see New Zealand and chose this cruise as relaxing but informative way to see the sights and enjoy our comforts. We had our 18 yr old grandson with us and unfortunately the ships functions were predominately for the seniors, a little for the children-nothing for young adults. Service from all staff was brilliant- friendly and professional. Food awesome- with good health & hygiene procedures in place Embarkation & disembarkation HORIFFIC ! Up to 11/2 to 2 hrs waiting in long lines. First port- by the time we got of the ship we only had one hour before we had to line up to get back on. One port we had to line in the full sun for 13/4 hrs- no toilet facilities to get on a tender back to the ship. Had never experienced this before on a cruise with even more passengers. It was very distressing to observe so many elderly or infirm people really struggling with this. This needs to be addressed by the organizers of embark & disembark procedures. We would love to go on a Princess line cruise again for so many good reasons but honestly the getting on & off has really put us off. A shore excursion booked with Princess reduces the wait. Was rather peeved people with elite cards were put through ahead of others -this is an unfair practice. Read Less

we took this cruise because of timing 21 days was just right however we did not realise when we booked that in fact this was a 2 cruise sector going up and down from Singapore . however the cruises were fine the ship is getting a bit jaded but overall is good the service was first class the meals were fine and our cabin C105 was very good and plenty of space and quiet what we did not like was the lack of staff to enforce the rules regarding kids in the adult swimming pool as sometimes the pool was so full of kids it was impossible to get in it. also formal dining is a joke people walked in with t shirts and short pants why have formal nights if you state formal enforce the rule in the dining room otherwise don't bother to have formal nights we have sailed with many other companies such as Holland America and P&O UK and the rules are enforced Read Less

I was very disappointed by the current state of Princess. In the past, the food and entertainment were quite good. This time, the food was very poor and the entertainment on the ship was not up to par. The main theater was full a half hour before the early show and we were shut out four nights. It is too small for the size of the ship. The activities on the ship were not very good and we spent the days at the pool or reading. They were geared to shopping and the art auction. The ship constantly vibrated whenever we were in motion. It was difficult to fall asleep and it was downright annoying. In 28 previous cruises, I had never experienced this problem. I think the engines need to be looked at. Prior to sailing, I had ordered the 12 water bottle package for $6.99. When it did not show up, I was told they never got the order and had to pay $2.50 a bottle. As for the food, the meat was tough, it was never served as ordered, and the dining room selections were not as I am used to on other lines. Read Less

My "unlimited alcohol package" was a scam. My card mysteriously didn't work the last day and after 4 visits to guest services they could not fix the issue so I just gave up. I asked Princess for a partial refund and they never got back to me. Guess they don't care if I ever sail with them again. This was my first cruise and never have been treated so rudely by bartenders and customer service before. Never would I recommend Princess cruise line to anyone. They charge you by the day for Wifi while other cruise lines offer it for free. Felt like i was nickel and dimed the whole time. At breakfast time it is nearly impossible to find a table to sit at. You have to walk around for like 20 minutes and wait for someone to leave. There are also not enough pool chairs. have to walk around for like hours to find a few together. Read Less

I’ve been on four other princess cruises and this was the third cruise aboard the Regal. Love the Regal, it’s a beautiful ship. Great entertainment, however, same production shows that we had in July-August of 2016. Also, found that the quality of food has depreciated. Not nearly what it was, which was disappointing. However, if I compared it to the Diamond Princess, then I’d have to say the food was good, because it was awful on the Diamond. We had a great waitr in the Concerto dining room, Mark, was terrific. We asked for him every night, once we saw he was working the ship, as we had him a year and a half previously, and really were impressed with him. The beef selections were not that great, meat was not tender but chewy and taste wasn’t there. The steak in the Crown steakhouse was much better.theyneed to get their quality of beef back to where it was.im all s out the food Read Less

We were happy with almost everything :) It was a lovely cruise. Almost everything was great. We had just 2 issues, but it really was not a big deal...there were 3 of us in one room, a balcony with overhead bunks and it the room was just too small for three. Also, we found it hard to find seating on the lido deck for movies under the stars and other activities in the evening and on sea days. You really had to arrive early to get a deck chair. Other than those minor issues, we were very pleased and would definitely do another cruise on the Regal Princess! Most of the crew was wonderful, some more than others, but that's human nature, I suppose. The food was fantastic and we ate way too much! The entertainment was great. They pretty much had something for everyone. What impressed me the most was our room steward and how impeccably clean and lovely the Regal Princess was! Read Less

Weather in Washington state has me wanting to go south every winter and this year was no different except my wife couldn't make the trip. This year my sister came along for her first cruise ever and I'm sure many more after the trip we experienced. We flew into Ft Lauderdale and transferred to the ship about 11am and walked in, got checked in and walked aboard, it was that smooth. We took the self guided tour around and gave my sister the lay of the land. The Regal Princess is a beautiful and large ship but even for a first timer, my sister was able to navigate with very few issues. After the tour we had lunch in the Horizon court Buffet. Great layout to accommodate a large group and a variety of dishes to choose from much of which changed each day. The food itself was very good and hot dishes where hot and the cold dishes cold. Anyone who has cruised many times knows that isn't always the case. Service everywhere was outstanding. From the Horizon court to the servers out on deck to out amazing waiter and assistant in the Symphony dining room. We couldn't have asked for more polite and professional servers. We found Milan and Milos, our any time waiter and asst. on the first night and asked for their section each night when we came in. These two men made my sister feel so special from the attention, recommendations, running to gather out wine from vines and evert other small detail they attended to. They will be leaving Regal and going to the Island Princess so if you have the opportunity, ask for them. Our room was fine and pretty much just like all the others, small balcony. For the most part our room steward was fine but didn't see him much. He kept thing clean and beds made. We asked for thing and he got them. Laundry took a bit longer than we anticipated. The Cruise Director Dan is the BEST I have ever experienced. He does an amazing job of entertaining you and keeping you informed without coming across as selling anything but good times. We loved him. Princess Cays was another great day. The island is clean and well organized. Servers took care of your needs wherever you sat and the outdoor BBQ was nice. WE wondered outside the gates and did some shopping with locals and My sister found an Italian leather purse tucked away in the corner of this shop and got it for $20 a real deal. St Thomas is recovering and getting back to its old self but still has a way to go St Marteen has even further to go for recovery but they are working on it. So much damage it may take a couple years to fully recover. All in all it was an amazing vacation. My 17th with Princess and my sisters 1st and I'm sure its her first of many. Thanks so much to the Crew of the Regal princess, we will see you again. Read Less

I recently booked a vacation on the Ruby Princess and used a travel agent for the booking, our travel agent assured/guaranteed Princess Cruises will do everything to accommodate special diets, this was not the case. Our Travel agent told us that they sent Princess a list of our dietary requirements including the various foods items required. At our first dinner sitting there were no Vegan options on the menu and in speaking with the service staff we were informed that the only vegan protein they had available was Tofu. One of my biggest concerns in arranging the booking was that Vegan meals would be provided and there would be a variety of choice, I was extremely dismayed to find that there were no vegan options on any of the menus including the dining room. Further, the only protein source they had available on the ship was Tofu. It is my expectation that when I make a specific request for a Vegan Menu that this be provided. The Anytime Dining and the Buffet did not provide the ingredient list for their prepared items and there was no indication if the various dishes were Vegan or not. I would expect to have available meals that are prepared using organics, healthy oils, no refined sugars, etc. Vegan ingredients for the most part are easy to find and not expensive, alternative protein sources include Tofu, Beans, Lentils, Quinoa, Kale, Hemp Seed, and Chickpeas. As a result of the limited menu, I ended up with essentially the same meals each day, not what I was expecting. Why are there no Vegan dishes on the menu? Quinoa Salad, Chickpea salads, Kale Salads, Bean Salads, Lentil dishes, Chia Pudding, is often available in most restaurants as entrées, why would Princess not also have these available? Customer service by the staff on board the ship was exceptional, if Princess educated their chef and kitchen staff on how to prepare tofu entrées with flavor, quinoa salads, bean & lentil entrees they would open doors to customers that have special need diets as well as ones that choose to eat clean. Vegan entrees should be included on the menu. As well, this could enhance the wonderful vegetable & fruit salads in the buffet. I also would like to comment on the excessive number of sales pitches onboard the Princess, so many talks etc. were just there to sell a product and this was especially true of the fitness center. As an example one of the trainers presented on how to get flatter abs, with the comment that 50% is from Diet and Exercise and the other 50% from a detox product which they would be happy to have you purchase on a monthly subscription. They also stated that we all know about diet and exercise so he would not comment on this. I found this presentation particularly offensive as this information is just not true. There are absolutely no scientific studies that have shown a detox product to specifically result in a flatter abs. Flatter abs will come from diet and exercise alone and the assumption that everyone knows about diet and exercise is also wrong. I am very well educated in diet and fitness and yet know I still have much to learn and any information on this is always welcome. I also booked the Chileno Bay Sail and Snorkel in Cabo San Lucas and was under the impression that we would have 40 minutes of snorkeling time, at best only 15 minutes of snorkeling time was provided. The host were very good, but quite disappointing to have booked a snorkeling adventure and then only have such a limited time in the water. Much of the time was spent watching whales, which is fantastic, but this was a snorkeling excursion not a whale watching one. This was my first time on a cruise ship and I have to say I was quite disappointed with the level of food service provided. Read Less

Wanted to go somewhere warm. Cruise to Mexico was smothe all the way south. Coming back we had a little front to back motion. No side to side motion. We had a balcony cabin at the front of the ship on deck 15. We enjoyed the cabin and the view. The cabin closet is open and has plenty of room to hang clothes. Plenty of room to story your luggage also. There is a area with a door with shelves to store other clothes. The safe is here also, it is a great size. My wife loved the bed. The bathroom was a fair size but the shower is small. There are news channels on the tv. They do have newer movies playing on the tv. The food at the buffet was ok but not a big selection as other cruise lines have. Food in the main restaurants was fair to good. They do have a lobster night. There is entertainment in the main theater every night. The singers at the karaoke were excellent. The crew was great. If you go on the yelpa excursion try to go on boat #4. The guys on it were great, they waited on us hand and foot, they performed various skits it was so funny. I was surprised as the ship was not crowded. Only saw a few children on this cruise. Read Less

We chose this cruise as we were taking my mother in law (thereafter referred to as MIL) on a holiday and this is where she wanted to go (New Zealand). The trip was amazing. The food in the dining room exquisite ( the meals in the cafeteria style eating were a bit hit and miss though) and the service from Vijay And Artem in the main dining room made my trip. My son was very sad to say goodbye to those two. My MIL wanted to take them both home with her LOL. The cabin was nice but small for 4 persons but the top bunk matresses were very firm. -read table top firm - Ok for children but not good for a 40 year old. Please note, there are formal nights on board and slacks are expected for men. Pack slacks guys. This is enforced in the dining rooms on formal night and it is lovely. The cleanliness and hygene is excellent. They have hand wash stations in the cafeteria type area and a hostess on the door to make sure everyone washes. Hand sanitiser stations at the dining room too. Very good. Gluten free people are well catered for in the dining rooms and not too badly in the cafeteria style eating too. I did not have a bad meal in the dining room. Nathan our head waiter gave me the next nights menu in advance so i could order for the chef to make it for me GF. Some excellent meals. I even got a GF souffle one night for dessert. A miracle in itself. I got so excited ordering and seeing in advance what i would be having. It is classy. Our last trip was on Carnival and it is more geared to families but princess is classier. Less children and they were much better behaved than the ones on Carnival. My son enjoyed kids club. The shore stops were great but do not buy your excursions on board as they are over priced and you can get MUCH cheaper excursions at each port. Some of the entertainment is alright. Two afternoons when live entertainment was supposed to be on in the Wheelhouse bar and no one showed up. Stage shows are ordinary and you need to be there 45 mins before to get a seat. Saw 2 comedians onboard and some of the jokes they told were older than i am and had whiskers on them. Some good giggles though. Saw a couple of lectures from Moari expert, Poara. EXCELLENT. Wish they had have been longer. Only 45 mins per lecture and very very interesting. Husband and son loved learning the Haka. Could have listened to Poara for double that time. Read Less
