We chose this cruise based on a great casino offer. We had sailed on her in 2008 and 2009 when she was fresh and nearly new. Today the ship is in fairly decent shape. This was our 4th Princess cruise and we really wanted to see the Panama Canal. The Ruby was a good choice, not too big. We know that it will always be a struggle to get a pool deck lounge chair or a table on the pool deck. The deck above the pool usually had lounge chairs available. We sailed on the Regal Princess out of Galveston last week in a BW obstructed extended balcony. there was no obstruction looking straight out. We chose this cruise because we wanted a cruise longer than 7 days. We enjoy sea days and this one gave us 5 glorious days to relax. Embarkation was a mess as far as dropping off luggage, they appeared to only have 5 or 6 guys collecting luggage.
