OK, but not great

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Island Princess

We chose the Half World cruise as a way to escape winter and to get to the Arab countries where we wanted to tour. Cruising is always pleasant and so my rating is relative to other cruises we've done. Generally the food was ok (what you might expect at Denny's) and the ride not to bad (for us) even when the seas were rough. But nothing was impressive and the entertainment was VERY lame. You can ...

*Princess contacted us as the previous cruise had been cancelled. (BNE to BNE) They offered BNE to Syd, we declined. The first red flag was when we were given a 'personal cruise advisor, not in Australia but the US' What? The time zone made it impossible for us to communicate at a suitable time. Messages constantly missed, therefore had to wait for the next opportunity to speak. This ...

6 of us from round the globe wanted to meet up again and cruise. As we had cruise credits to use up, we chose this cruise to avoid Europe. We stayed in cabin A216 with a balcony, near the front of the ship. The shower is extremely small, and water pours over the soap dispenser, making it tricky to get any onto the washer or hands. The fridge didn't work very well, but this was replaced after ...

Cruising with the Princess and Covid in Australia in 2022. What a bit of pressure can do to your better judgement. Our cruise in February 2020 was terminated at the halfway point because of the then developing Covid crisis. Princess were generous in giving us credit for future bookings along with some bonuses. This then happened multiple times as the time frames extended and were cancelled ...

Apologies for the lengthy diatribe but context is all. Booked for this trip two years ago but was cancelled due to covid. Had the option for refund, cruise credit or go on same trip Melb to Melb on the 4th of November. Chose to go on same trip as birthday was on 3rd November. A choice we came to regret bitterly. Should have opted for cruise credit. Today’s date is Monday the "14th ...

VERY OLD SHIP

This ship can only be weeks away from being scrapped. The public areas are fine but the cabins and public toilets are out of the ark. Flaking grout everywhere you looked. A BIG gripe was the horrible cheap toilet paper and tissues. There are no air dryers that we found anywhere. Of the 7 main meals we had in one of the main dining rooms, 5 were bland & tasteless but 2 were good.Nicely ...

We did the 5 day cruise which we reviewed and have now stayed onboard for the 7 day coral coast cruise. Unfortunately the cruise continues to go downhill with many more Covid cases onboard and lots of cabin doors with tables in front of piled high with dirty dishes and polystyrene food containers. The restaurants are not open for lunch ,the grill for burgers are also not open at all for both ...

We expected this to be a nice return to cruising based out of Brisbane. We found the boarding process poor. The level of organization was poor and people were herded into a long queue for security checking. So much for social distancing. Our cabin was a suite and we found it quite comfortable. Though getting dated. We had all we wanted here. Our steward 'disappeared' at day 5 so may had ...

Cruising from Brisbane to Airlie Beach.

The cruise itinerary suited my partner and I as this was our first cruise since the Covid pandemic. We wanted to experience life back on board to see if things hadn't changed to such a point that it would take the pleasure out of cruising. Although the travelling on board the ship from Brisbane to Airlie Beach and return gave us wonderful memories of past cruises the actual cruise ship itself was ...

Our cruise was great til Holyhead Wales. It was a cold and windy day and on way into shore our tender boat stalled and couldn’t restart. We drifted in the waves and hit the shore wall grinding the under carriage of the boat. After multi failed attempts to start the tender and drifting a rescue tender was called. The rope we were attached to our rescue broke and a second was attempted. This time we ...
