The ship and class of service is what I expected from Princess. The ship was nice, staff was great and the entertainment was fun. This was a 5 day cruise with one 24 hour stop that is a bit different than any other cruises I have been on. There is plenty to do, the "Princess Patter" was packed with activities throughout the day. Dining room and Horizon Court food was good, plenty of variety. The variety of public spaces, music and bars was good. The Disco was not in a great place and the only place that was too crowded, tiny dance floor and slow bar service, I think that needs to be looked at. The "Medallion" class, use of the medallion for your cabin and purchases is innovative but is sort of creepy as they know where you are, all the time ... weird ... Princess is my favorite line and I will return. Read Less

The ship was absolutely beautiful and very elegant, not to mention, huge and well maintained! Everything you need is conveniently found on the ship; variety of shops, restaurants and other eateries, casino, theater, spa, pools/jacuzzis, bars, cafes with specialty coffee, Internet cafe, gym, The Sanctuary, the private adult only pool area, plenty of seating throughout the entire ship on nearly every level, AND MUCH MORE... including a medical area!! They provided exceptional service from our stateroom attendant, (MARIO!!) to room service, the Horizon Buffet waiters, and every other staff member aboard the ship. There were great sights on and off board. The views were exceptional! The excursions were great, but please note, the Princess excursion options are much better than private shore ones! The best part of all, we truly were treated like royalty, which is very fitting for the "Princess" line of cruise ships! We will be back cruising again SOON!!! Read Less

Not what was expected. Very unfriendly staff. Outdated vessel. Very small. Not well kept. Food was worse than hospital food. Balcony very dirty. Not a lot of activities on-board for 4 day duration. Age group 50-85. Disembarkment process very early. Shops with expensive prices. Atrium is a small hole in the vessel. Elevators are old and dirty. Not sailing again with a Princess. The staff seem to agree that Royal Princess have higher standards in food, cleanliness and ship entertainment. The cocktails were very overpriced. Coffee tasted like water, looked muddy. Tea was better option. Same breakfast menu every single day. Buffet posts and glass were extremely dirty. Staff around ship couldn’t answer badic questions, but gave honest responses, “sorry, I can’t answer that, maybe someone else knows”!!! I would spend a few hundred more and get a better experience with an alternate cruiseline. Many seniors with books in hand and ready for relaxation. Read Less

My wife and I wanted to do a different cruise this year so we decided on the New England to Quebec cruise. After looking at several cruise lines we choose Princess because of the itinerary and the reputation. We arrived 2 days early in New York and stayed in Brooklyn not far from the cruise terminal which worked out great, as we could drop our bags in the morning and then take the NYC Ferry to NYC and back to the terminal. Embarkation was smooth and so easy with the Medallions. Our room was nice, the bathrooms are what you can expect on most ships. The bed was a bit short. Comfortable but short. Our steward was very nice and did a great job. He kept the room clean and always had ice in the fridge. Our only real room glitch was we ordered some items to be in the room on arrival to the room but they were not there. We ordered robes to be in the room and I ordered a Stanley Bear to be in the room. The robes did not show up till a full day or more later and I had to go get the Bear at the shop, which kinda killed the surprise. Oh well. We went to the Steakhouse on the first night and it was lovely. Wonderful food and attentive staff. We used the buffet for breakfast a few times, had the Ernesto Burger by the pool, went to anytime dining, went to tea in the dining room twice and had our daily coffee at the International Cafe. The buffet was your average buffet. The food was good and tasty, I would have liked to see more fruit, including bananas. Due to a gastro-intestinal issue on the previous cruise we could not handle the salt and pepper which made seasoning eggs and such a pain. We ended up buying salt/pepper shakers on an excursion as well as some hot sauce and took it to the buffet and morning dining room. The international cafe and the coffee card were perfect for us in the AM. and the egg muffin sandwich was great for early excursions or on debarkation. Loved the International Cafe. The Ernesto burger was very good indeed. Well worth the 15 minute wait. The anytime dining was good. The food was on par with other cruise lines I have been on. Service was a bit slow but not terribly so until the last 3 days and it seemed to get slower and slower. We did have a couple of mix ups at dinner. Like not having the curry sauce on a dish with curry sauce and not getting a appetizer portion of some pasta even though it was ordered. I eat too much on cruises so that last one is not a real issue. The desserts were great especially the chocolate items. I would have like to see more vegetables though. The itinerary was action packed. 9 stops in 10 days. All of them were excellent and offered something for every one. We planned our own excursions or simply walked around town. there was plenty of time a each to enjoy the port. I had a couple of disappointments with the overall experience which makes me think that maybe Princess is not for me. 1. On board activities often overlapped so I could not get to all the things I liked. for instance the photo classes and the go pro classes were at the same time or overlapped so i could not do both. I did as much of the trivia challenges as I could but many were so tight on the schedule I could not do them all. 2. I love the medallion. It made getting off and on the ship a breeze and getting into the state room easy. Paying for stuff was also easy. The Apps were not as flawless. there is a disconnect between the website the apps and the written items on the ship. Also the staff does not understand the app or what they can do so sometimes I ended up know more than the staff . I felt like a beta tester and that the apps were a little rushed to get out. Overall I really did enjoy the cruise and the ship. I just don't feel that Princess is the right line for me at this time. Read Less

We booked the nine day version of this cruise as a complement to a land tour of Japan. In most respects, it met our expectations, but there were definitely some aspects that were disappointing. This circumnavigation of Japan was an excellent, well-balanced itinerary out of Yokohama. What impressed us the most was the number of ports (three in total) visited on the Sea of Japan coast. This is an area of the country that does not seem to see many cruise ships, so it was an appealing aspect of the itinerary. We also appreciated the opportunity to visit South Korea through the port of Busan. For future cruises, it would be nice if Princess could add a port on the island of Kyushu. We booked shore excursions through Princess for each port. Generally, these were well-organized and efficiently run. There was a good variety of offerings, with something for everyone. The process of getting off and back onto the ship was relatively painless, although we were a bit in the dark about the process of retrieving goods that were taken and held by security until the end of the cruise. More information on this procedure would have been welcome. In terms of the running of the ship and service onboard, there were positive and negative aspects. On the positive side, the Princess waiters were excellent, with outstanding service in the Savoy dining room, although the cuisine could be a bit hit-or-miss. The food was generally very good, although two evening meals were substandard due to under or over-cooking. With half of the passengers being Japanese, there were many more Asian dish choices than what one would normally see. The service in the Horizon Court buffet was equally good. We had one evening meal at the Italian premium restaurant, Sabatini’s. Again, the service was excellent, but the food was a little disappointing. For example, the lobster served in the Savoy dining room was superior to what we had in the premium restaurant. Finally, we were regulars at the afternoon tea service in the International Dining Room and really enjoyed the white glove table service and tasty goodies that one usually finds at high tea. The cabin housekeeping service was also a bit unpredictable. Our first cabin steward was sub-par, to the point that we were about to complain. However, after two days, we got a new cabin steward who was so dedicated and attentive that he made up for the first one. The entertainment was good. There were three production shows, of which two were very good. We also enjoyed the other acts, especially the rock violinist, Katei. We really appreciated the demonstration of traditional Japanese comic storytelling, rakugo. We were disappointed that Princess did not take the opportunity of being in Japan to showcase more Japanese talent, such as a J-Pop group or a Kabuki theatre performance. On the negative side, the ship appears tired, with several evident maintenance issues and some areas of the ship being downright filthy. One of the ladies' toilets near the atrium was constantly malfunctioning, and ceiling fans in the dining section of the Lido were covered with so much encrusted dirt that it would have failed a health inspection. We saw at least one instance where a wall had to be torn out to fix the plumbing, and many parts of the passageways showed damage from years of wear and tear. Some of this should certainly have been addressed by the crew, while other issues will require the resources of a full refit. Other parts of the cruise also misfired. On both occasions that we chose to catch a movie on the pool deck on the big screen, the sound system malfunctioned. We also had a total screw-up with room service delivering the wrong items to our cabin. Additionally, we were also taken aback by the way that Princess seems to be nickle-and-diming more aspects of the cruise. For example, the Japanese baths which are unique to this ship were advertised as an appealing feature, until we discovered that you had to pay for each visit, more or less like spa experiences. On the whole, we enjoyed our cruise on Diamond Princess. The itinerary was great, and the crew for the most part was excellent. Nevertheless, the ship needs a lot of work, and we were disappointed by other aspects of the cruise. As a result, only an average score was earned, with lots of room for Princess to improve this unique Japanese experience. Read Less

Let's start with the condition of the vessel. It needs some major repairs to it's plumbing systems as we had personal loss of our toilet multiple times this cruise and saw many leaking ceilings and buckets throughout the ship. Heard stories of cabins flooded and carpet replaced, our friends were relocated along with their neighbors due to repairs to their cabins. However I cannot find fault with the crew of this vessel. Captain Tuvo has a very happy crew, we heard crew people tell of how nice it is to work on board the Star and it showed right to the customers as well. Dinner in Sabatini's was fantastic for both service and food. Anytime dining was great, never having any issues getting a table when we wanted. We tried to get Edwardo and Paul each night as they were so good with service and timing of our meals. The barrel chair was in our caribe cabin and we were thrilled to see it. Air conditioning did not work on our warmest day in San Francisco when jellyfish clogged the cooling system we heard, but in our cabin is was fine. Overall the ship does need some care and we heard it will be dry docked in April to upgrade to medallion. Not sure we would sail her again only due to ship condition but not the crew.....they were a joy. Also enjoyed the smoking lounge Shooters for a cigar and whiskey. I also thought the pools were heated somewhat.....on one day the rear pool was too warm for my taste. Oh yea....this cruise also was to pick their entertainer of the year 2019 so they had four on board to do shows and we voted. The singer Phillip Brown won and he was great. Also even with it's plumbing issues I have to say the public restrooms were some of the cleanest and well cared for we have experienced at sea. Read Less

Our cruise was almost 5 hours late leaving San Pedro (LA). Because of this our port time in both Ketchikan and Juneau was severely shortened. Our stop in Victoria, B.C. was skipped entirely! Very disappointed. Buffet foid was always cold! Even breakfast items like oatmeal, eggs and waffles were cold. Very minimal low carb or low sugar items available. Sabattinis extra cost restaurant was disappointing. Not worth the extra. Crown Grill extra cost restaurant was superb. Our cabin steward Jadeah was supern! Room was kept made up and very clean. Shore excursions were very goid even in limited by time in port in both Ketchikan and Juneau. Yukon Adventure and Whites Pass & Yukon Railway excursion in Skagway is not to be missed! We saw orcas on our whale watch from Juneau and bears eating salmon on our excursion from Ketchikan. Our ship did not allow us to go ashore in Victoria, BC as was advertised. Overall our cruise experience on the Royal Princess was positive. The extremely late departure from LA cause several very large disappointments later in the cruise. Read Less

I chose princess as I had previously cruised with them in 2013 on the ruby princess by far the most amazing cruise I have ever done. I loved the itinerary and have always wanted to cruise with Princess up to the barrier reef. The majestic princess looked amazing new clean we were very excited to be on the ship. This was a huge disappointment the ship is catered for an Asian market so the food was of the lower standard The entertainment was boring and the staff unfriendly. Also we felt like we were on a moving nursing home everyone on the ship was so old it was truly a geriatric cruise even my 71-year-old mother felt out of place. The entertainment at night was so dull that they had a string duo playing at 8 pm 9 pm in the main atrium. There is also no place to dance no dedicated place to dance only in the atrium where all the ballroom dances with frustrated if you got in their way. We paid a premium price for this cruise and were highly disappointed the only thing that redeemed it was the amazing itinerary I’m not sure I want to cruise princess again which makes me feel sad because the best cruise I ever did was on the Princess ship. The food was terrible just terrible my carnival cruise was better food,Actually even the p&o and MSC was better. So disappointed such an Asian ship it does not belong in the Australian market its really catered to the asian market. It was a floating nursing home a geriatric flop with bad food and boring entertainment the only good entertainment was zinger band they were amazing. . Read Less

This was suggested by our travel agent because we wanted to pair it with a land Cruisetour. Land tour was amazing. The ship seemed very old. You could see where repairs in a number of areas needed to be made. Shopping was limited aboard ship and very expensive. Dining room food was pretty good, but Horizon Court was pretty bad. Entertainment was so so. Very little interactment with the staff. Unable to hear an announcements in our cabin and even if you could hear them the PA system was very muffled. It seemed like there wasn’ enough staff in the dining rooms. Sometimes we waited quite a while for service after getting water poured. Sometimes we were asked if we wanted a drink and sometimes not and sometimes we had to ask them or remind them. After such a wonderful time on our land tour the cruise part was pretty disappointing. We just returned for Canada and New England cruise on the Caribbean Princess yesterday. We sailed on this same ship 5 years ago and don’t recall any problems, but even this it was refurbished 4.2017 it’s just old and not kept up well. The good: We booked this cruise for the itinerary which we really enjoyed. We booked a Club Class Mini Suite due to booking so late and not many choices. The cabin size and location was fine and very nice sized tho it’s a bit weird having 2 really large screen TV’s nearly back to back but not an issue. Balcony was nice tho we didn’t use it too much, it had a table, 2 chairs and 2 footstools. The MedallionNet WiFi was excellent, never had an issue and very reasonably priced, loved it. We really enjoyed the club class dining room, yes it is on the side of the MDR but much less hectic and quieter, excellent crew from our fav Josmy at the door to servers who were outstanding, friendly and always smiling - thank you Oxsana, Tim, Ucecil and Rollin. The not so good: This ship is just old, outdated and tired. Yes, the carpet, sofa and some bedding in the cabins have been updated but even after such a short time it’s not taken care of. The furniture and ‘headboard’ is OLD, nicked and beat up. Large outdated canvas pic in cabin had tears in it and the walls looked like they had been washed but left splotchy wall paper. The only thing that could help it is to be replaced. All thru the ship we noticed lack of upkeep, and found it odd that we were told to please use the toilets in your cabins rather than the public ones??? Sorry but the Love Boat theme drove us nuts, maybe we just have no sense of humor. The Muster drill was ridiculous, many of us lined up in hallways and many paid no attention to the safety part of the drill, talking, laughing, disregarding the instructions and crew didn’t enforce it. Food: Seems like Princess is cheating out on the dining, no longer steaks on the Everyday Menu, now replaces with a hamburger....really? There’s a fairly extensive extra menu with meals at extra charge, yes, in the MDR. I get the speciality restaurants if you choose to pay but a daily extra cost menu? No surf and turf night(s) tho one night lobster was offered, very tiny lobster tails. Our final night was surf & turf, a small filet with 2 large prawns, one of the servers commented the prawns were larger than the lobster a few nights prior. Food in MDR was tasty enough but not one meal delicious. The Lido buffet, what a joke, crowded and many selections but not much flavor and not tasty, lots of cheap food which appeals to the masses. Don’t get me wrong, you won’t starve but the quality was horrible. Interesting note: prior to our last night I read on CC that the departure for the ship on 9.24 was going to be delayed and no one could check in before 3 pm due to extra sanitizing after gastrointestinal issues. Hmmmmm never heard about it before reading it here. All in all, we will not be doing another Princess cruise, especially on this ship. Read Less

We chose this cruise for the departure port and itinerary, but I wouldn’t change anything. The ship is older and doesn’t have all the wizz bang features of the new ships, but that’s not why you cruise to Alaska. I didn’t notice any maintenance issues or problems with cleanliness. No funny sewerage smells or problems with air conditioning. Our stateroom was always clean and very comfortable. The size was not massive, but more than enough considering the amount of time we spent outside our cabin. Overall the crew were very friendly and efficient. I agree with some of the comments about the buffet, but if you choose carefully you can still have a good meal every time. If you time your meals correctly there are virtually no queues and we always found a table. Remember there is another seating area towards the back of the ship on both sides. We chose traditional dining for dinner and were able to get a table for two after requesting it on the embarkation day. We had to share for the first night, but had our own table for the rest of the cruise. The menu is adequate and again with careful choices you can have a lovely meal every night. The Crown Grill was excellent. Great food and service. Alaska was amazing! We even saw the Northern Lights (on the departure out of Haines and only for about fifteen minutes). I would happily cruise on the Grand Princess again. We’re already planning to repeat this cruise with our kids in a couple of years. Read Less

I just really have always wanted to take an Alaskan cruise. The Coral Princess in September was a wonderful experience. The crowds were smaller and the weather was just about perfect. There was not a mosquito to be found. The shore excursions were first rate. The stops in Juneau, Ketchikan and Skagway offered a variety of experiences. There was plenty of time for shopping and exploring even with taking shore excursions. The Glacier cruising was awe inspiring. Cruising in September means that you get to see even more glaciers because there are some areas that are closed to cruise ships until September As always on a Princess cruise the food was delicious. The Entertainment was professional class. The Crew is always friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.Even the transfer from Anchorage to Whittier was first rate with a bus driver/tour guide who was great telling us about life in Alaska and pointing out interesting things along the way.. We even were able to take a shore excursion in Vancouver after we disembarked and before we had to fly out. Not only did it give us a great overview of Vancouver, it also lessened our time sitting in the airport. Our balcony stateroom offered stunning views. The ship is a slightly smaller ship and that made getting around very easy. Everything went smoothly from embarking to disembarking. Princess knows how to do things right. Read Less

We chose this cruise because the ports of call included some places we had not been. WE chose Princess because the value and service are always dependable. Our expectations were met with the exception of food at dinner in the 2 regular dining rooms. It was not very good. WE had Club Dinning Class which helped because we had a dedicated MaitreD for our section who made up for the regular menu... If the food had been better the overall rating would easily have been a 4 - 4 1/2.. I guess it is the luck of the draw... Past Princess cruises have been OK.... That being the case Norweigen has changed their food dramatically and it is Great!! Princess should take a cruise from them. On the other hand, Princess had 3 shows during our 11 nite cruise that were the best cruise shows we have ever seen. They had a soprano singing pop songs choreographed like a Broadway spectacular. Ship showed a little age but not too much to seriously detract. Service was very good and embarkation and debarkation were the best we have seen. Read Less

Our waiters were Omar and Thomas, those 2 were the nicest gentlemen, we had so much fun and they are polite and professional but made us feel like we were their only patrons. We had Jimmy as our cabin steward, I cannot say enough about this great man, he was at our beckon call. He always made us feel important and took the best care of my husband and I. I have 2 complaints and they are trivial. 1. I would like to have nachos on the trident grill menu or have them served on the buffet more, we only saw them on the buffet once our whole trip. 2. I would like to see movies streamed when your Princess Ads are not playing on the screen. My husband and I really like watching moves when we are out on the deck. Previous cruises on Princess , they would do 7pm movies, which was great. This time they did not start until 9pm, that is too late for us. Thanks for listening, we plan to cruise again soon, also loved the Alaskan cruise, best I have ever been on, My fave, was Glacier Bay, cannot stop raving over it and telling everyone to cruise Princess, once you try them, you will stay with them and I really did come back after our trip and felt renewed again! Choose this cruise to experience Greece and its food, drink and culture. The good is that Princess did an awesome job on embarkment (no wait) and disembarkment. Excursion organization and cleanliness, and great staff. It couldn’t have been any better. I rated 4 stars because I wouldn’t take this cruise again. It was boring. Entertainment was for older people ( we were a party of 8 in our late 50s and early 60s). Pool parties and piano bar weren’t what we had on other cruise lines. After dinner we struggled to find things to do. We were looking for dancing or comedy. There was one great band with a woman singer that we found 2 nights and that was the entertainment highlight. We had people in our party fall asleep and leave during auditorium shows. We did trivia a few times and that was fun. Food and drink were awesome. Service was exemplary. Shore excursions ... mostly good, organized, good guides and clean bus on all with no waits. Crete we did a beach excursion and when we got there there weren’t enough lounge chairs for our party to be together, stained cushions on loungers and you couldn’t swim cause of the rocks .. not what we expected. Now Corfus excursion was awesome town and cooking class. Highlight of the trip. We booked wanting to see white beaches and bluest water with the white buildings and saw none:(. Too windy to go to Mykonos (which we booked for) and princess did nothing for us that day ie, free drinks, more entertainment so that felt like a wasted day. One more thing, we were on a Greek cruise and the nightly dining had no Italian or Greek food or appetizers. Would highly recommend they change this to have 2 or 3 options for the area every night. Also the wine and beer of that region would be a plus. Would recommend this cruise for older people. Read Less

My husband and I did the Alaskan cruise followed by a land tour with stays at the Princess Denali Lodge and Fairbanks Lodge. We wanted to see the glaciers, but also see the northern lights and visit the arctic circle. We had hoped to learn more about the Alaskan people and those that “live off the grid” as well as learn more about Alaska’s history. Our suite was beautiful and spacious and was best part of the cruise. The enrichment presentations were basic and repetitive. The talks were about mammals and sea life. Unfortunately, the lectures never focused on Alaska’s history, Aurora Borealis, or the glaciers and how global warming is causing most of the glaciers to recede. It was not until there was a surprise Northern Lights show during the early am hours through the College Fjord glaciers, that the Princess Cruise videographer spoke for a few minutes before a mammal talk, that there will be a dvd for sale with the nights light show along with pre-recorded Aurora Borealis events. We missed the Northern Lights that night as we were asleep. The Deadliest Catch excursion was great and I was pleasantly surprised. The Best of Juneau excursion was long and it was surprisingly warm. The glacier was sadly disappearing. The Yukon tour which included an extension bridge was also very long in duration. Again very warm which, of course, had nothing to do with Princess Cruises, but global warming. I forgot to add that the glacier viewing from the cruise ship was beautiful, but not as dramatic as one would think by viewing brochures. The Marjorie glacier I gather was grand at one time, but now it was just stagnant. I understand that it is one of the glaciers that is not receding. The College Fjord was far more spectacular with larger pieces of icebergs floating along side the ship. The land tour was very good. Weather remained quite warm, but overcast in the evening which prevented the Aurora Borealis from being viewed fully. We were only able to see a portion of Denali, but quite impressive. The highlight was the plane ride from Fairbanks into the Arctic Circle. Learned a lot about “living off the grid” and sustainable living in Alaska. I would of loved to have learned about the lifestyle of First Nation, Alaskans, and Indian tribes on the cruise before the land tour. Lastly, there are many fires that are still occurring in Alaska, so smoke may be present. In fact, we could smell the smoke in the plane on our flight to the Arctic Circle. We also could see the Rampart fire from the plane. Read Less

We chose this cruise from vacations to go for a last minute trip. The price was really great and the destination was northeast and Canada. Embarking was super but the room was disappointing. Not for location, but for cleanliness. The rug in the room was old, stained and dirty. We did not bring slippers because we called princess earlier and the rep said all we had to do was ask. Well that proved to be futile, I emailed Princess during the trip to complain and we finally got them day 3. Meanwhile, I had lined the floor with pool towels. Day 4 we asked for our room cleaned. The steward (who we pre tipped in cash although we did opt to pay gratuities) made up our bed in the same sheets, they were wrinkled with hair in them. The bathroom had hair, the sink wasn't cleaned and the rug had not been vacuumed. I know because we removed the pool towels prior and some cookie crumbs were on the rug. They were still there. The soap on the sink was mashed into the pre formed counter top. There were tea ring stains on the desk. etc. The ship ran out of smoked salmon day 5. Even though they were in nova scotia! The hash browns are GREASY!! There was no lactose free food in the buffet, everything except cold cuts had milk, cream, cheese and butter. No dairy free desserts except jello. Later on, while we were in the disco, an employee entered our room without permission with our privacy notice on the door to bring us chocolate strawberries that neither of us could eat. All of our personal items were out in the room, our handbags, our jewelry, my computer was up and running, they entered and violated our privacy. Princess has changed from our 2 previous cruises with them. Floor supervisor was nasty. When customer service called to ask why we were not happy. She said she was sorry we did not appreciate the gift of strawberries. They still don't get that it wasn't the strawberries we were mad at, it was the violation of privacy, oh and yes, the dirty room. Read Less

My cousin and roommate, Joan Ruxton, wanted a cruise up the east coast of North America to see the fall colours. I said I'd like to join her, but I told her, "It has to be a Princess ship', because I had so enjoyed my 15 day Princess cruise to Hawaii. Highlights of this latest cruise: 1st. Just being on the ocean would have been more than enough, however, on Princess much more was available; 2nd.: The company around the table in the formal dining room could not have been better. Warm, interesting, convivial, charming people from all over the globe broke bread with me and my cousin and made the dinner times sparkle; 3rd.: The food was a m a z i n g; 4th.: Awesome onboard entertainment - truly exceptionally talented dancers and singers worthy of Hollywood, put their hearts, souls and enthusiasm to work for our enjoyment. The comic I saw was a delight, bringing members of the audience up to the stage to 'help' him make us laugh and laugh we all did! 5th.: Princess has a library! How great is that?! Whenever I wanted to just relax by myself, books were free and easily accessible; 6th.: Our cabin stewart was wonderful. Just so meticulous, reliable and friendly; Read Less

We had an amazing vacation. Meet some very neat people. Looking forward to keeping in touch with them. The ship was clean and beautiful. Food in the Horizon Court was always really good. The best meal we had was at Curtis Stone Share! Go there and eat, you will not be disappointed. The Casino was fun we won some and lost some but overall it was fun. The artwork was pretty, not my style but nice to look at. We got the coffee card, but could have done without it. The coffee in the Horizon was just as good and free :). Soft serve ice cream was perfect, my hubby's favorite. :) We had great weather, only rained in Juneau. We did a little shopping in Juneau. We did the train ride in Skagway, that was beautiful. I would go again! Glacier Bay was beautiful, so peaceful and relaxing, we did see a portion of the glacier break but did not get pictures. The Lumber Jack Show in Ketchikan was really cute and fun, great for the family! We did the Pedi-Cab ride in Victoria, BC, I recommend seeing the city this way. The stop in Victoria is short and Pedi-Cab makes it to where you see the whole city in 2 1/2 hours. So you still have time to shop if you want. Overall the best vacation we have taken in years. We are looking forward to our next cruise, I really want to got to New England & Canada cruise. Read Less

The cabin had a filthy stained rug and film over the mirrors. All the electrical outlets did not work. The urine smell coming from toilet was strong. They offered to replace the carpet but would have to move all our belongings. They offered to shampoo carpet but the smell from the chemical may cause allergic reaction so we said no. The casino floor staff was hard to find and during smoking hours they did not put out ashtrays until asked. The food was just okay unlike my last trip. We had to revert to anytime dining to get good food. The desserts were bland but the cookies were great. The wait staff was usually there to take drink orders. The cruise director and other crew members were fantastic. There was a problem with our excursion and the person in charge had a printout and chose who would go based on when they booked the excursion. The order was all wrong so people who just booked the excursion went while those that booked 6 months prior did not go. Read Less

The food was ok . The state room was outstanding but it was a upgrade suite . The ship was very big very nice very clean . Staff was very friendly and the food was average at best except in the specialty restaurants it was outstanding . The entertainment on board the ship was very good especially the comedian who we saw two times he was awesome AJ if he was ever around my area I definitely go see him again he was very funny he also did two entirely different routines . The room that does the show run was large it was very comfortable every seat was very positioned so that you could see everything and hear everything is very pleasant experience. Only problem is they didn’t have enough people in there to get you drinks there was like two people in the whole room so you waited forever to get drinks otherwise you have to go get them yourself they need many more people in there if they want to you know so drinks I had a package so it was sort of a pain because I had to go get it myself. The only thing I had a problem with was when you get on the ship they try to sell you all the spa treatments and all this crap you really don’t want in that cost way more than it’s worth in my opinion they take you on a tour which I didn’t want to take . I have been on four different ships and have cruised four different times the ship was nice people and staff were nice the food was subpar especially for the price we paid . Don’t think I take another princess cruise we had problems with our shore excursions half of them well actually three of them out of the four were canceled . You need to be extremely specific on sure excursions times dates ask as many questions as you possibly can whether it’s better to go in the morning the afternoon because we booked morning trips and they were all canceled due to the fact that they were fogged in early in the morning there was also a train that was canceled but that’s because of a rockslide . We've been to Alaska many times and we wanted our daughter and her family to see the beauty of the land that we keep going back to see. It's so peaceful with breathtaking scenery in all directions. There are many areas of pristine, untouched nature and wildlife abound everywhere. Embarkation and Disembarkation were the best of all the cruises we've been on. The crew couldn't do enough to make us comfortable and fulfill all our needs. The food was excellent and varied including gluten-free bread and dessert offerings. There could be a more consistent kids' program, however. And an indoor pool would be nice for Alaskan tours. The boutiques are well stocked with a diverse selection of goods. I love the International Cafe which is open 24 hours for a late-night snack. I loved taking a hot bubble bath at the end of the night...such a treat on a ship. Well worth going. Check the hours of some of the ports because we had one very early one...7 a.m., and one very late one...7 p.m. I'd have preferred more daytime hours for being onshore. Read Less

The cabin was fine, and the cabin steward did a good job. Nothing special except ice - no towels folded into animals, for example. The food was medicre, except for pizza and hamburgers, which were very good. The dining room food, though, clearly showed efforts at cost cutting - New York strip steaks were a little on the tough side, for example, and I think that the scallops were not scallops, but rather a whitefish cut to look like them. They were tiny! Deserts in the sit down dining area were good, but those in the buffet area tended to be dry. Service in the dining room was lackadaisical in some cases. Drink packages did not appear to be a good deal. An upgraded meal in the main dining room was as expensive as at a good establishment on shore, which seems odd - after all, you have already paid for some meals. Nevertheless, it felt as if we were subjected to a constant upsell. The music in the production shows was good, but the choreography was clumsy in two of the three relevant shows. The magician was good; the comedian was doing impressions of old comedians - using their jokes - which wern't all that great when the originals gave them (exception - excellent Jack Nicholson impression). Good naturalist, but this was his last trip. One of our party was hadicapped. Good help getting that person on board at the beginning, but none with debarking or reboarding for shore excurions. This was our first and last experience with Princess. Previous trips with both Carnival and Royal Carribbean were better for food, service, and onboard shows. Read Less
