Do not accept Cabin E102 on the Emerald Princess.

This has to be the most disappointing cruise I have ever been on. I am a 'Platinum Member' in the Captains Circle and opted for a guarantee cabin. I asked for an Oceanview cabin. I booked this cruise in April 2016. Several weeks before the cruise I was allocated Cabin # E102, which, when I looked it up, it seem to look very pleasant. Big mistake!! It did say that the cabin 'could accommodate' ...

Wanted to go to the North Cape. This was a trip from hell. Our luggage was delayed for 4 days and when the cruise started there were very few clothing items to buy. After two days of this we asked to be booked on a flight to go home at the next port and they said they could not do this. DON'T KNOW WHY. We could not go on shore excursions or even to the dining room due to lack of clothes. Got ...

Cabin (balcony A437) too small for 3 people and feel like being fleeced on board

Cabin A437. Far too small for two adults and one child; 3rd bed is lowered by steward each evening and is immediately over the main bed. It is unsettling for the sleepers who may as well be in a small bunk bed! Balcony was in need of painting and repair with rust and broken lock to next cabin. Could not get balcony door to lock. You can hear the next cabin's toilets flush and TV, etc. Drinks ...

First the few good points: Embarkation was very smooth and we were quickly on board without any fuss. Although we only had an interior stateroom it was spacious enough for our needs and what we expected. Some of the staff are fantastic, polite, always smiling and willing to help. The Movies Under the Stars is a nice feature but obtaining a sunbed is a nightmare which I will elaborate on ...

Chose the cruise based on its destinations and also for its reputation of good food and comfortable beds which I have to say I wasn't impressed with. Cabins are noisy and aluminated with light from outside the cabin door which you can do little about. The beds are too soft and we both suffered bad backs and necks during our cruise. The entertainment provided on the stateroom television is ...

This was a family holiday on the Emerald Princess, which suited our required holiday dates. We thought the ship was in good order, clean and tidy - very similar to P&O's Ventura and Azura. Embarkation was first class, as was disembarkation. The staff were very good and professional throughout the ship. Some of the minus points were no tea/coffee making facilities in the stateroom and dining in ...

We decided to go on the Emerald Princess for our first cruise due to the wonderful destinations it stopped at - Barcelona, Rome, Pisa, Florence, Genoa, Corsica, Marseilles and Gibraltar. I wasn't disappointed - these destinations were FAB-U-LOUS. Embarking onto the ship was dream - hardly any queuing time. Thank goodness they had porters to take our 5 huge suitcases to our rooms. The ship ...

We chose this cruise as we wished to go from the UK rather than fly and we had cruised with Princess twice in the past. Emerald Princess and P&O's Ventura are identical ships built in the same shipyard. I looked to go with P&O on the 22/07/2016 on a near identical itinerary in a mini suite but it was over £6,000 more expensive than Emerald Princess! Embarkation was a breeze, considering the ...

Some recent reviews of Emerald Princess have been very critical, so I will try to be as impartial as possible when writing this review, in the hope it will be of assistance to others considering a cruise on this ship. Comparisons are made with similar cruises in the last 18 months on Celebrity Reflection, Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria. In addition to these cruise lines we have cruised with ...

First time with Princess Cruises for many years and found standard very good. Requested fixed dining, second sitting and table for 2. Staff very helpful in changing to quiet table. Pleased to see they still have the Champagne Waterfall on first formal night ! Large Art Gallery Attended and enjoyed Art Auctions on board and made a purchase (a first for us !) Ports Did not take ...
