3 1/2 stars: This is a very very very long review. You might be reading this in a panic thinking, what did I do...I booked the Emerald and everyone is leaving horrific reviews. So I thought I'd write a review that might help people make the most of their vacation if they are already locked in at the 90 day mark. OK. It's not THAT bad. I had a great time knowing some things ahead of time. I ...

You should know you will be milked for gratuity at every corner, its ludicrous. The shower is scorching hot 90% of the time. The activities are not designed for all age groups, they are either designed for kids or senior citizens. The excursion was great; however, it took up most of the time we had on the port. The port time was horrific, we arrived late and only had 1/2 on the first day and 1/2 a ...

Princess dining is pretty average

We’ve been on 8 prior Princess Cruises and several cruises with other lines. We had been impressed with Princess Cruises over the other lines until our recent cruises. Particularly their dining experience had been exceptional. The main disappointment with this cruise is that they have removed all the premium dinners from the main dining room. Now if you want lobster, crab legs, or scallops, ...

Don’t take short cruises

Decided to take two back to back short cruises to help get to Elite but never again. Dining time was move up to 5:15pm but the doors were locked so no one could enter until that time. This resulted in a line that extended all the way into the casino every night. By the time everyone was seated we didn’t get our appetizers until 5:55! Several times we had to skip dessert to make it to a show. Next, ...

Nothing special

Chose the California departure for a Thanksgiving holiday. We have previously been on Celebrity, Norwegian and Carnival. We had an obstructed view cabin which was well-laid out. We did not find the food, entertainment or service to be anywhere close to what we have had on five Norwegian cruises. Key card wouldn't work upon embarkation so one person was stuck for 30 minutes waiting for ...

This was my husband's and I first cruise celebrating an anniversary. We live in LA and flew to Vancouver to take the cruise from there. We arrived to Vancouver two days before the cruise and had a great time exploring the city, we also had a trip to "Squamish" which I highly recommend. Day of the cruise we arrived at the port around 12:00pm, checking in was easy and smooth, we found out that ...

Nice coastal cruise

This was a pretty unremarkable cruise. The ship was full to capacity and you could feel it. Too many people for the public areas to handle, it felt crowded most of the time. The ship is pleasantly decorated and clean. The dining room was very busy and the food was average, bordering on disappointing. The buffet was also very busy with not enough tables to handle the number of guests. The ...

Mediocre cruise on a beautiful ship

I just returned from the November 17, 2017 Emerald Princess cruise, sailing to Catalina and Ensenada. The Emerald Princess is a beautiful ship, but I left the cruise feeling underwhelmed by most of the experiences we had. I was travelling with my mother, and I had a lovely time. But I don’t think I would sail Princess again in the near future. EMBARKATION: Embarkation for us was very easy. We ...

This was a repositioning cruise ending the Alaska route. We went from Vancouver BC to LA. So the value was very good, we paid for an obstructed window but there were no obstructions had great view. I really liked our cabin, princess cabin layout is awesome. We took the "Bolt" bus from our home in Portland to Vancouver great ride with wifi onboard on was about 35$ a head. We took a taxi to our ...
