Arrive At the Port Before The Porters Go Home

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Emerald Princess

My wife and I have cruised to Hawaii four times but always in the fall or winter. We wanted to try a cruise to Hawaii in the summer. We booked a one-bedroom suite about a year before the cruise which was 16 night round-trip from Port of Los Angeles. We like round-trip from LA because it is about 45 minutes from our home. We have cruised Princess 11 times prior to this cruise and have always ...

What started on an innocent sunny day in August turned out to be an adventure we will always remember. Despite being impacted by (2) Hurricanes, the fires in Maui, and multiple medical emergencies, the Princess Staff and Officers rallied to help us all make the best experiences possible. The weather to Hawaii was hot and sunny, which was really nice. The last minute decision to reroute to Kona ...

Excellent crew, ports, dining and music

[First, I should mention that we are not alcohol drinkers, and therefore our commentary will not reflect at all on that particular aspect that is admittedly quite important for some readers to know about.] The crew was excellent beyond expectation whether we are speaking about cruise director Fer-r-r-nando, the instrumental musicians (special shout-out to the trumpeter), dancers, singers, ...

Fantastic voyage to Hawaii

I've been sailing for 22 years mostly on Carnival and Royal. The trip was outstanding in all categories from ship to cabin Stewart. Food was actually a little better than Royal and Carnival. Ship center was way to small, the Piaza. The excursion were very good and met our needs. It must be noted that there were many elderly and handy cap on this ship. Not many youth. At time the elderly had ...

Wonderful California Coastal Cruise

There were 3 of us traveling...me (40's), daughter (12 1/2) and mom (70's). We chose this cruise because of the itinerary, which was CA coastal (with San Francisco overnight). My mom and I had sailed with Princess many times (8 for me and 25 for her), but had been primarily sailing Royal Caribbean recently. We initially booked a mini-suite, but had concerns of only having the tub/shower ...

Great staff, great food

Review for a Pacific Coastal Cruise on Emerald Princess

We had not been to several ports in this itinerary, so we thought it was a good choice. The ship is a little dated ie: shower very small with curtain as opposed to other ships with door to the shower. The cabin and balcony were a good size, except that there was no couch and just one chair to sit on. The two specialty restaurants were very good. The service and food was exceptional. The regular ...

Panama Canal Coast to Coast

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Emerald Princess

Our cruise to the Panama Canal on Emerald Princess did not disappoint, it was a great ratio of at sea days vs port days. The embarkation and disembarkation both ran smoothly. The staff were exceptional, especially our cabin steward. On day 1 he got extra hangers for me and removed the small table, replacing it with an extra chair. Our balcony stateroom was faded and the age really showed but it ...

Quality of Princess Onboard Service Remains Outstanding

We booked this cruise at the spur of the moment, and did not shop around to see other options. That said, we were very pleased with the cruise overall. This was our eighth cruise on Princess, and the cruise line's quality of service has always been outstanding for every cruise we've taken over the years. The entire crew are wonderful - they all have a great deal of enthusiasm and are eager ...

First trip thru the Panama Canal

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Emerald Princess

The Emerald Princess is a roomy ship with plenty of outdoor space. I was most impressed with all of the staff. Shows were great. I did notice some cutbacks in the choices of food in the MDR. Overall, it was a great trip. Plenty of daily actives and enjoyed the pool at the back of the ship. Our third trip on the Emerald, we had never gone thru the Panama Canal or been to the ports of Huatulco, ...

Amazing Panama Canal Cruise!!!

I choose this cruise as I had always wanted to see the Panama Canal, it was a great experience. The Emerald Princess is not a new ship but it is well maintained. The ship was recently in drydock and some cosmetic improvements were noticeable, particularly new carpets in the hallways and in some cabins. Work was on going during this cruise but did interfere with the cruise experience. The ...
