Let me say that this was not what I expected after all the money I spent to have a relaxing time. First, let me say that there should be a disclaimer to let people know that this line caters to senior citizens. I’m not knocking the elderly at all but less then 5% of the guest on this ship was under 50 years of age. For me and my opinion it was a nursing home at sea. Let me put it this way, the ...
I have always wanted to see the Islands, my daughter passed in December and her heritage is fraternal side is Hawaiian. The cruise started off at LA port we were with the wheelchairs as my sister has had 2 back surgery's and Knee replacement also can not feel her legs so anytime up slants is dangerous for her. While waiting were informed most people didn't need this help only used to get at front ...
This was my first cruise to Hawaii and the longest cruise I have been on. The ship was beautiful, the rooms spacious and comfortable. Some don’t care for the medallion, but I find it so convenient, you have your arms full and approach your door, it unlocks, it does everything and more than the card does.
The entertainment was sadly lacking both in variety and what they offered. They had only ...
Our cruise was great til Holyhead Wales. It was a cold and windy day and on way into shore our tender boat stalled and couldn’t restart. We drifted in the waves and hit the shore wall grinding the under carriage of the boat. After multi failed attempts to start the tender and drifting a rescue tender was called. The rope we were attached to our rescue broke and a second was attempted. This time we ...
Previous experience with Princess was good 9 years ago. Not anymore.
Cruise Director was terrible. Most of the entertainment was amateur at best.
The one excursion we chose did not warrant the association with Princess it was a dogs breakfast of a show. (Germaines Luau on Oahu.)
Cabin upkeep was excellent. Crew staff were excellent and pleasant.
Theatre seating was a nightmare unless ...
I choose this cruise thinking it be relaxing, enjoying and good food, man I was wrong, it was not relaxing because you could find a seat where it was warm, to cold around pool, where most of the movie we’re. Very hard or sometimes impossible to find a seat indoors. Because so cold out doors. The only was to get a seat in princess theaters for main shows, was to go one hour before showtime.
Now ...
We chose this cruise because we wanted to be in Hawaii during whale season. Have done two other round trip HI cruises (one from Vancouver and the other from San Diego) but never this time of year. We did see whales - yeah!
Poor Emerald, where to start. I'll go with the good first:
The MDR staff (ATD) and our room steward were simply excellent. I can't overstate how efficient both areas ...
My wife and I have both reached the Elite Level with Princess Cruise Lines, in addition to having taken maybe a half dozen cruises with other lines. This cruise was our 17th on Princess, over a period of about 7 or 8 years. We felt that the new Princess program would follow through and recognize their most frequent passengers in some meaningful way, and we enjoyed traveling on their ships. Our ...
This was our 3rd 15 day Hawaiian cruise on Princess. We bragged about it to friends and they booked on our recommendation (we got nothing from Princess). Embarkation was a unorganized disaster, we did not find the staff to be happy or friendly. The food in the dining room and buffet tasteless, I think they do this to sell the upgrade $29 each meal sites. Loved the island stops, the captain ...
This was my 8th cruise and my second on The Emerald Princess. The tone of the cruise was set by the staff at the Pier. The weather was a factor but the staff attitude was uncalled for. I’m 67 and my husband 70 and we felt too young to be in this cruise. The ship is old decor and the cruisers fit the decor. The entertainment was terrible. The activities boring. If you have 5 sea data you need ...
