After reading reviews, we were nervous, but there was no need. We had a great experience with no major issues. I'm always amazed that 2 different families can experience exactly the same thing and come away with polar opposite opinions--expectations and perspective are powerful. Our expectations were lower--based on some previous reviews. Our perspective comes from our previous cruises--most ...
This was our first Princess cruise and was booked based on price alone). We kept our expectations low based on other reviews and decided we would make the best of whatever came our way. However, our expectations were exceeded in most areas. Our biggest concerns after reading reviews were the food and the entertainment. Our any-time dining room experience was very acceptable!! The ice cream ...
This was our fourth cruise, with the other three on Carnival, and about 20 years ago. It was a themed cruise with Line Dancing for my Wife, and four new ports of call to snorkel for the both of us.
We were looking forward to trying a "better" cruise line. I don't think we got one.
Cruising remains a very cost effective way to travel, and we enjoyed the balcony on our stateroom. The ...
We decided to book a quick getaway cruise for Valentine's with no kids. We prefer Holland America but needed a shorter trip and Princess had a great deal on this trip so we decided to try them again. We sailed Island Princess three years ago and really enjoyed it but really prefer smaller ships.
The embarkation process was great. We got in and waited in a short line and then basically walked ...
We had a great time and will definitely sail Princess again. Princess is an excellent value, and really takes care of their loyal cruisers. But I have to say that the quality is slipping, particularly in the food department. Now, I understand that to be competitive on price you cannot serve lobster and steak every night. I get that, and I am happy to see fares stay reasonable than have fancy ...
Boy, what disappointment.
We have sailed many, many times on Princess, as well as a few time each on Royal Caribbean and Carnival and once on Holland America. We have always preferred Princess because between these 4 lines, their food was always vastly superior, but no more.
The food in the dining room was poor at best. The menu choices were lacking, the service not attentive. Many of ...
We are retired senior citizens living in southwest Florida and needed a weekend interlude to chill out. We as a rule do not like short cruises for this purpose, but revisited the 4 day cruise option. This was our 83rd cruise and 21st with Princess. And was it a joy with good food, places to read around the adult area in front of deck16 and enjoyable entertainment. We particularly enjoyed the new ...
Jan. 30/16: Traffic was backed up getting from Ft. Lauderdale airport to the cruise port. Check in was approx. 40 minutes before we were in our stateroom. We went for a bite to eat and when we got back to our stateroom the luggage was in our room. Our stateroom was on Caribe deck and we had no issues with water, toilets not working etc.
Room: Our inside cabin was laid out very well and the guy ...
Emerald Princess Jan 23-Feb 6, 2016
As Jan 23d came closer we read a number of post from those on the Emerald Princess following completion of the recent dry dock and the issues with water, plumbing and air conditioning. We hoped that any issues would be addressed and corrected by our Jan 23d embarkation. During our 14 day cruise we had no issues with water or plumbing however it did seem that ...
My husband and I and my daughter in her twenties cruised to Eastern Caribbean for 7 days with Emerald cruise embarked on Jan 30th 2016. We had a fantastic time.
Our steward Edward was very polite and efficient. We didn't see him much, just a few times in the hallway, but our room always got cleaned in the morning and the up bed was put down for us in the evening. We were amazed how he knew that ...
