Apologies for the delay in writing this review.
We cruised as a family of 4, myself and husband, mid 40s and two children, an 11yo and 15yo.
We chose and booked this cruise about 1.5 years before sailing, as we found a fantastic deal with good OBC. It was our 2nd cruise, and first with Princess Cruises. Our first was with Royal Caribbean. We chose Princess as we just wanted to compare and ...
For us to go to Sydney Austrailia and sail New Zeland was a trip of a life time. We went 1/2 way around the world.
While Princess has no control over who sails with them there is a demographic of people who make the cruise uncomfortable. They push and shove and cut in line and just generally misbehave in relation to western standards of behavior. And it is not just Australia where you find ...
Had to take this cruise because it was the last one doing New Zealand. The ship does not feel renovated nor new. Needs maintenance. Staff was friendly, mostly. But the excursion staff are not prepared to deal with problems, such as so many cancellations. They should give us, those who reserved on time and then were canceled, some priority or compensation. We had too many stops canceled and the ...
Great ports. Princess tours were much better than usual. We also used Shore Tours for most of our private tours. Nigel coordinated tours in 5 ports. Highly recommend the company.
Food on cruise was odd. Minimal beef at dinner. Numerous dinners were mainly fish and vegetarian, with no beef even on daily menu. Same hamburger for every dinner. No cheesecake on everyday menu or pasta ...
already had completed two cruises on the sun princess and wanted to expierence a different ship, was very dissapointed with emerald princess in our opinion the sun princess expierence was a lot better, the layout of the emerald did not suit us,the dining room meals did little to encourage you to return,we went to the dining room five times and the menu hardly altered.the waitress we had was very ...
We combined our March 18, 2017, New Zealand cruise with the Emerald Princess’ March 7 New Caledonia & Vanuatu cruise I have written a separate review for that cruise and our 4-night pre-cruise stay in Adelaide, Australia (www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/memberreview.cfm?EntryID=574153).
In 2012, we spent five days in the Sydney, Australia, area before boarding the Diamond Princess for a ...
This was our first cruise and we were surprised at the number of extremely elderly people on board who were are danger to themselves and other people. Many walkers, wheelchairs and motorised wheelchairs. One elderly women drove madly through people.
The Emerald princess does need some refurbish on the balconys.
We ate at the Botticelli restaurant for breakfast and dinner except when we went ...
We chose to fly to Sydney from Melbourne the day before embarkation so we wouldn't be rushed and would begin our holiday in a relaxed way. We stayed at the Grace Hotel which we really enjoyed and met our daughter (who lives in Sydney) and enjoyed dinner at Jamie's Italian which was a perfect choice. We took a taxi the following morning to Circular Quay and had a lovely time wandering around ...
This was a once in a life time cruise for us. A chance to see 2 very far away countries, Australia and New Zealand.
The ship and crew were very good. Embarkation and debarkation process were very timely and ran smoothly. Entertainment was excellent.
Food, especially in the Horizon Court, was inferior. Numerous items were not hot and sometimes just barely warm. Many times items were ...
As always we enjoy planning for our holidays on board Princess Cruises. We've been cruising for around 20 years. This year we decided to do back to back cruises from Sydney.
Staff, food and entertainment were fine. First cruise was excellent up to Noumea, Vanuatu etc. Great entertainment from a ventriloquist and Steve Larkins doing Freddie Mercury.
Next was our New Zealand cruise.
