We chose this cruise line because it touted it's high tech Medallion and Medallion related apps (downloaded) from home, all of which malfunctioned. Ocean Compass and Ocean Now required us to sign in repetitively, and frequently told us we had disembarked, were not onboard... we were seated by the main pool on Deck 15. IT staff onboard could not resolve the issue..we were finally told it was the make of our phone....and that upper management knew. They knew and did not inform passengers pre-cruise. Very poor. Entertainment mediocre at best. Food fair unless you wanted to go to non-fare included restaraunts. Anytime dining means 7:30-9:30 PM . Oppressive smell of sewage emanating from the Spa on Deck 16. Do not recommend snorkeling excursion at St. John's...passengers poorly monitored for safety. We have been on several cruise lines, including Disney. This was the worse cruise we have ever taken. We were a family of nine and we chose this cruise because it fit into everyone's schedule. Next time we will not leave from Ft. Lauderdale. More than half the guests were seniors which meant that there weren't many things for children to do on board. The food was okay. I liked the food better on our first Royal Caribbean cruise. There weren't many dairy free dessert options. The staff, however, were pretty cool. I had a pretty nasty indecent with a sales associate in the Effy jewelry store on the ship and it wasn't addressed by management. Outside of that incident the staff on the Caribbean Princess were pretty good.The pizza spot, Slice, makes incredibly delicious pizza. The coffee shop/ice cream bar was good at delivering cones but it seemed like everyone assigned to the coffee bar was figuring it out. The ship seemed dated but clean. It was only my second cruise so perhaps all ships look dated. There was a sewage smell that we smelled often that was off putting nut I guess that is the price you pay on a ship. I probably won't cruise on Princess for a very long time because fo the racist incident I experienced and since there are other options but it was an experience. Read Less

We live in Florida and Port Lauderdale in convenient for a quick getaway. We chose Princess because we have always had overall positive experiences on Princess Ships and this cruise was no exception. Because we have cruised the Caribbean on numerous previous occassions we booked this crusie primarily for the on board experience so shore excursions and ports of call did not have much enfluence on our choice of cruises. We picked this sailing because it met our schedule and was convenient in that it sailed form Lauderdale. On our last several crusies we have opted for the Suite level cabins and in all honesty have become spoiled. The additional ammenities while costly make for a much more enjoyable experience. The suite (L106) was pretty spacious but a little dated in decor especially in the bathroom. The balcony was especially specious and included 2 chaise lounge chairs which allowed us to escape the crowds on the pool deck and have some real solitude. The food on the cruise was very good with the exception of the World Market Buffet. We noticed that the quality of the buffet offerings was significantly reduced from our experiences on previous Princess cruises. We ate there for lunch on 4 occassions but only because it was convenient to the pool deck and allowed us to dine without changing out of our swim wear. Noticibly from the buffet absent was the steam ship round (roast beef) sea food i.e., boiled shrimp, oysters, clams, and other upgraded fare we have enjoyed from the buffet on other Princess cruises. With the exception of the buffet the food was very very good boardering on excellent the other exception being the Crown Grill again the quality of the food there was not nearly as good as we've had from the Grown Grill on other Princess ships. The service was outstanding across the board especially in the Club Class dining venues. Over all we enjoyed the cruise a great deal and would describe it as better that what we experiened on other cruise lines but a little short of what we have come to expect from Princess. If you visit Princess Cay don't waste your money on the $225 bungalow we made that mistake while there in January 2019 and felt ripped off even at a lower cost of $199. Read Less

We spent 3 nights in Fort Lauderdale at a beach hotel prior to the cruise, and on the morning of departure we took a quick taxi to Port Everglades. The terminal was very busy but the lineups moved quickly and check in was fast and efficient. Our room was ready when we boarded the ship around 1:00 PM. The Caribbean Princess has been modernized, and we noticed the newer rugs, new pictures in our stateroom, and newer look to the ship in general. There is a new splash pad zone on the upper deck for kids, with several lounge chairs (some with clamshell type covers) nearby. We went ashore in Princess Cays, Bahamas, which is a busy beach with lots of room to spread out. We booked a cabana for the day, and it was nice to have a spot to regroup, cool down, or just take a break either indoor with the ac or outside on the shaded lounge chairs. We also went ashore in St. Thomas and took a bus tour & beach break. In St. Maarten we took a similar tour but spent more time on a beach with an included lunch. The weather cooperated the entire week and it was sunny and hot each and every day. Overall, we enjoyed our cruise very much. Our room steward did a good job, the wait staff in the restaurant (Club Class Dining) were very attentive, the front desk and shop staff were also very friendly and helpful. The ship is easy to navigate, and we found using the aft elevators very handy because they were less busy as compared to the midship elevators. The pool areas were a bit crowded on sea days but there was often a few chairs available in which to sit. We didn’t eat in the Marketplace cafeteria more than a few times; the sit down dining rooms provided a table, wait service, and less of a rush so it was more relaxing for us to eat in those venues when we could. For breakfast we generally ordered room service - one of our favourite ways to start the day! Our room was well laid out and spacious, with two windows & close to the water with very little noise or movement from the ship. The location couldn’t be beat: close to the Piazza, front desk, shops, and Coral Dining Room. Overall, a great week on the Caribbean Princess! Read Less

We overall enjoyed our cruise to the Eastern Caribbean. Our two interior cabins were clean and well kept. (It would have been nice for Princess to choose a floorplan that sacrificed a bit of closet space in order to expand the size of the shower, though. At 6'1", my "wingspan" in the shower was much more important than having six superfluous feet of closet space in which to hang a handful of dressy clothes.) The food was amazing and we very much enjoyed the shows and activities offered on the ship. Our excursions were top notch. Our girls spent most of their onboard time in the teen room, and had a blast with the planned activities. However, we had major problems with the Medallion system from the moment of embarkation. For some reason, my daughters and I were issued Medallions, but my husband was issued a key card. I still have no idea why ... I did nothing unusual with his booking process. We were told at embarkation that his Medallion would be ready by dinnertime. At dinnertime, no Medallion. Then we were told that it would be ready first thing in the morning. In the morning, no Medallion. We grew increasingly frustrated as we fell into a pattern of checking in at the service desk every 6-8 hours to be repeatedly told that his Medallion was still being processed. At one point, he asked what would happen if one of our girls lost her Medallion; he was told that a new one would be issued immediately. When he asked why such service couldn't be granted for him, we discovered that the key-card and Medallion databases were entirely separate entities, and he would have to be "created" as a new passenger in order to receive a Medallion. This finally did occur; he received his Medallion ... halfway through the cruise. Once his Medallion was activated, both he and our older daughter were able to track all of us, but my younger daughter and I could not track him. Ever. In addition, for a period of 36 hours, our younger daughter's Medallion dropped off the system and she was un-trackable as she moved about the ship. She was unable to do anything without being accompanied by her sister, with a properly working Medallion, as that was the only way we could ensure that we were able to keep tabs on where she was. When we raised this issue at the service desk, the clerk logged in to his iPad and showed us where she was at that moment. "See? She's perfectly safe!" he told us. We walked him over to the nearest public kiosk and showed him that his information was useless to us, as we couldn't see it ourselves. We felt like we weren't being heard. Not being able to verify her safety was only part of the problem; the larger issue was a faulty tracking system, completely out of our control. I had a scary moment, once both girls' Medallions were back online, when I went to track them and discovered that they were on different floors. The younger one was on a floor which contained only private cabins. She had no business being on such a floor. I raced down to her tracking location to discover that she wasn't there. I climbed six flights of stairs in a panic to find my older daughter in the teen room and ask where her sister was; I found both of them sitting together. I walked to the closest kiosk and logged in; my younger girl, sitting 15 feet away from me, was still registering as being on a cabin-only floor six levels below. Her Medallion location only reset when she logged herself into the kiosk. The Medallion system definitely gives great benefits ... when it works. It was a last minute vacation for my husband and I and our 5 kids (13,14,17,19 &20 yrs) The staff was great, friendly, helpful and fun! Loved the medallion and it’s apps! Very innovative and helpful if you aren’t regular cruisers. The only thing I wished is that I’d be able to track the kids under 18 in the other 2 state rooms since we had 3 rooms. But because of their age the app wouldn’t allow me to track them but we all have iPhones so we just texted. WiFi plan purchased workers really well, especially being in the middle of the ocean. Food was tasty and lots of options for the picky or for adventurous taste buds. Didn’t eat 1 thing I didn’t like. Plenty of areas to sit and relax, didn’t feel over crowded in any areas (obviously many people at pools on hot days, but there are multiple pools so it didn’t seem to bother anyone and didn’t seem over crowded). There’s about 4-5 smoking areas. Rooms were stayed on top of, very clean, service was great. The staff remembered your orders or likes almost immediately. Made for a very personal feeling. Entertainment was funny and there was always something going on somewhere. Princess cruises has it down pat all the way around. Looking into sailing with them again next summer. Embarking and disembarking was soooo quick and easy too! Read Less

We love Princess and it services. The Buffet is outstanding...service can not be matched by and other cruise line. Carribean Princess and it staff are wonderful. Our Cabin (P327) was maintained the way we would expect. If we did not see something we would ask for it and sure nough it would be there by the next day. Our dining on board (anytime dining) was superb.,......the waiters advised what foods would be good and which we would enjoy the most. When we ask for something in the dining our waiter would get it and always make sure it was the way we liked it. If something was not right the staff would make every effort to correct it and provide perfection. We enjoyed the "Production" shows very much. However we do not enjoy comedians and jugglers......perhaps when we younger we may have enjoyed them more. Comedians do not use their microphones properly so the entire ordience can hear them. Only the first five (5) rows of people in attendance laughed at their jokes. Obviously everyone in the sixth row and further could not hear them. Read Less

This was a great cruise in so many ways. We traveled with good friends and all of us had a wonderful time. Service was excellent, staff was friendly, food was good, ship was well maintained, beds were greatly improved since our last sailing on the Caribbean Princess, and itinerary was perfect. Club Class dining was well worth the extra expense - we had the best service and every meal was great. Adult only pool was very nice on sea days, entertainment was good and there was a nice variety of activities. Staff in boutique stores were phenomenal (Effy, Swarovski) - even got to try on a 45 carat tanzanite necklace - amazing!!! Complimentary wine/champagne events were also a nice addition. The only constructive feedback I have is around the art auction. We've attended art auctions on numerous cruises and have collected several pieces along the way. We intended to purchase art on this cruise, too, but auctions weren't as fun or accommodating as we've experienced in the past or on other cruises. Champagne was extremely limited and all glasses were filled 3/4 of the way with orange juice. I don't drink orange juice, so I didn't get to have any champagne. I mentioned this to one of the staff, and she promised to send a bottle of champagne to our room, but this never happened. During the auction, I tagged four pieces of art to bid on but they never brought them up for action after almost 2 1/2 hours of sitting there. I mentioned this too as we were leaving and they just apologized - there wasn't any personal follow up to help us make a purchase. We also stopped by the art gallery at least 10 times to discuss the art we were interested in but no one was there. So, while some of the art events they hosted were okay/nice (Peter Max showing in art gallery), the overall experience was left to be desired and worse, we left the cruise without acquiring any new pieces. While the art auction experience wasn't the best, we will definitely cruise on Princess again and overall, we had a fabulous time well worth what we paid. We will definitely opt for Club Class on all future cruises and are already planning our next one for the Fall 2019 or Spring 2020 in the Caribbean and another one overseas in the Summer or Fall 2020. This was the first time and the last time we will ever cruise with Princess. We were on the Caribbean Princess. Our toilet wreaked of urine and the sink water as well!! The balcony furniture was broken. The staff refused to replace the broken furniture. We found a shopping list to a girls mom from 2018 under one bed because I pulled a mattress out from the wall looking for a remote. It had a ton of trash and candy under that bed. The bathroom shower had lots of cracks in it and the floor grout has darkened from probably water and algae (grime). We slept pretty well because of the nonstop vibration and rocking of the ship! Thankfully I don’t get seasick! They showed a movie twice on the “movie under the stars”! All of the movies they showed had been out for months! I gifted this cruise to my dad and my best friend. My dad had never been on a cruise. I’m disappointed that this is his memory of what a cruise is supposed to be like. We’re going to Hawaii next!!! ON A CARNIVAL CRUISE SHIP!! Yes I know carnival owns Princess but they operate so very differently. Also, the Bahamian waters were cold! The water animals refused to show up!! People were just really disappointed! Yes I know they can’t warm the waters or call in the sea turtles. But it put a damper on everyone’s moods. This ship needs an overhaul on the interior badly!! The waitstaff has zero personality! All but one! This cruise was a disaster!!!!!! There isn’t a live band on deck throughout your cruise! So there is absolutely zero feel of the Caribbean!! Read Less

I was told that Princess was on par with Celebrity which Ive been on Equinox twice, and traveling with friends, this seemed to work out best for their needs with 2 teenages. I will say, when we arrived at port, this was the quickest we ever boarded, and I thought this was going to be a great cruise... boy was I wrong! Our cabin was warm at best, with the thermostat as low as it could go. Our friends had one cabin down the corridor and you could feel the temperature drop 10 degrees half way to their cabin. Their cabin was nice and comfortable unlike ours. I shut the drapes and kept the balcony door closed to try to cool things down but to no avail. My friends aaid to say something. So we went to the customer service desk where they ssid they would check it out. The room steward kept asking if they came but I I never saw anyone or get any reply or notification. I called front desk to see if I could get some Ice as the refrigerator was warm. I was told it was more of a bottle chiller and not a fridge. I asked for Ice and they said to call the room steward, his number is on the desk. I told them it wasn't but he insisted it was. I told him the room steward said he was going to bring the card later when I had asked for ice, but neither had arrived. The front desk reluctantly stated they would send up some ice as I had medication to keep cold. Half an hour later still nothing, so I went to get some ice. The room steward sees me with the ice bucket and comes to grab it from me and says he will get it for me. Next day still hot, complained again, was told they came to room at it was within operational parameters. Thats when If I didn't know Princess was owned by Carninval, I would have known with that useless generic answer. But it gets better. I complain again, switch my cabin, my friends have air and I need some, the heat can trigger some bad headaches, but they have no other cabins. The person at the desk says she will try to find a fan! It made it only slightly less unbearable. Princess Cay. They turn off the water at 2pm and if you want to prevent heat stroke or dehydration, buy a bottle at the bar! Unbelievable! Back on board. We have not been able to enjoy the view or balcony as we are living in a cave. Drapes closed. Afraid to open the door to the balcony and let the heat in. Went and complained again, this time I asked what do I need to do to get off the ship in St Thomas and fly home and get a full refund! The man at customer service says He doesn't know but will find out. Next day I have hotel manager, the customer service manager who found us a fan, an officer from engineering I think and the guy from maintenance all in our cabin, suddenly they are able to drop the thermostat a couple of degrees! Meanwhile, it must be 90 in the elevators, it felt like 95 in the lobby to the elevators, and it was so humid in the elevator I asked another passenger if he was enjoying the portable sauna. Later in the cruise, the art show auctioneer said they have been working on the ac all week and it was the first time he held an auction in a sauna, yet everyone says the ac is working properly. It was getting hot all over the place. Took 4 days to find a server at dinner that served appropriately! Women first, then the teenagers, then the men. Went to specialty restaurant for more upscale dining, service lousy, no tablecloth, served men first, women last, never checked on things, when he said eggplant when placing a dish in front of my highly allergic wife, we all said wait, she's allergic to eggplant, and he says i never said eggplant, yet 4 people heard him say it as clear as day, and not once did he ask how everything was or if we would like more bread, and when the desert was suppose to have a frozen center yet 4 out of 6 of the deserts had a warm melted mess inside. It was just horrible. Thankfully we reserved the section with the waiter we found for the restbof the cruise except the last night when they refused to take the reservation. The other servers and the rest of the staff all seemed like we were interrupting them, bothering them, or when they asked if we wanted anything, it was as if they were angry when we said yes! There were very few examples of good service, the ice cream was ice milk and horrible, the ice cream in the dining room tasted like they took the ice milk from up too, mixed in some flavoring, then refroze it. Don't ask about the shows, as we never got to see one. It was probably because the kitchen was so slow to send out food that it was a good two and a half hours for us to have dinner. One day it was full and too hot to stand, the next show had the doors closed and a sign said full, the one day we got in early and made it to the theater, they had the doors closed and they said they had some technical difficulties but were doing a sound check and would let us in shortly. Well we stood for half an hour, then they let us in, then we sat for another 20 minutes before the lights went down and the cruise director comes out and says they had some technical difficulties with the stage, blamed it on the waves yet it was the smoothest sailing Ive ever been on, and says that the technical staff has been working on it but said there was no way to fix it and due to safety, they were replacing it with a last minute replacement by one of their performers and brings out the lounge singer to do a tribute to Stevie Wonder... banging on the keys something awful, it was horrendous. It would have been proper to inform us of the switch before we waited almost an hour for something put together in 45 minutes. We went to see the drag Queen show in the nightclub, those are usually funny and raunchy and a good time, this was just bad. He went to do a quick change and was on the second verse singing off to the side and struggling to get changed even with help. I asked slmebody which pool was open, he said none, eventually I found the one that was open. The entire cruise director staff seemed unorganized and even rude at times. The cruise director wasnt even sociable, it seemed like nobody really could care less. That waitor we found was surprised and in disbelief when we told him he was the only decent service we found on the ship, he almost cried. The food was jot very good everywhere we went, pizza was wait and get so so pizza, took forever to get items replaced when they ran out in the buffet, the hot stuff was cold, the cold stuff was luke warm, and the couldnt even cook the eggs correctly, and the guy running the omlets was too busy foing too many things and talking to coworkers to do things properly, took my pager and then went on to fo other things while I stood waiting, then wanted to know why I was standing there, and then When I said he needed my food, and gabe him the number from the pager, he handed it to me like I was a bother, yet he just forgot to give it to me, but he also couldnt be bothered to apologize at all. And if you do not cash out your bank at the casino, it doesnt go back on your account, you would lose it, so make sure you cash out your casino bank. After 11pm, nothing available except a small cafe with limited pre-made items and coffee for a fee, no activities except the nightclub. Tried to go to the stargazing, sorry, we dont have enough equipment, maybe next time. Next time not in a heated dungeon with horrible staff from the dark ages... people on the ship who have taken Princess before have said it was not like this before, but I dont think I will ever do another Princess cruise again. I guess taking my money to keep the princess in her jewels is all they do! I cant see why anyone would take a Princess cruise based on this experience. Read Less

It was very boring if you are not 60 years old and looking to relax in the middle of the sun on the boat. The best part of the whole cruise was stopping at one of the 3 ports, St. Thomas. The other two ports, Princess Cay and St. Maarten, were not great and i would have rather spent that time in St. Thomas. The food on the boat was decent. The drinks were very expensive and the wifi was INCREDIBLY expensive. My little sister has fun in the teen area but my youngest sister was often bored when not in the kids club. I was bored a lot on the boat. The staff was pleasant though and worked very hard. Our cabin steward was not the best but my moms cabin steward was a lot worse. The staff in the teens and kids area was pleasant and my siblings liked them. The cruise director is fun but the activities that he led were kind of boring if you’re younger. I enjoyed the Marriage Match game. Read Less

We just returned from a 7 night cruise on the Carribean Princess. It was just OK. Maybe we are spoiled because our last cruise was on the Regal Princess which was amazing. Pros -Medallion Class is awesome. I could always find my travel companions. -Concierge website was great to check account balances and events. -OceanCompass and OceanNow are great. -Embarkation and disembarking were so fast and easy. -Friendly bartenders that remembered you. No long lines for drinks. Shout out to Melissa at the casino & Mo at Churchill’s). -Decent Casino with room to move around. -Crown Grill was fantastic and went twice (shout out to Alexander & Christian) -Sabatini’s was good -Good itinerary -Quality food in main dining room, but not as good as Regal -Excellent fitness center, large and spacious -Decorated our door for my birthday and gave a free specialty restaurant cover and $25 for on board shops. A really nice surprise. -Good variety of table games in the casino -Churchill’s Cigar bar is large with a great bar inside it -Excellent Internet speed. I could stream Netflix with no issue. -Beds were very comfy. Cons -The buffet layout is atrocious. If one side is closed you have to go outside and come in another side. No sign telling you the side is closed. Traffic in buffet is disarrayed. Food is ok, but not great (lunch) -Ship Layout is awful. You can’t get there from here....up, down, around. -Constantly out of pizza. The pizza was great....if you wanted to wait while the lines stacked up -The adults only pool in the front has only about 12 loungers which are taken bright and early and not given up even if people were not there. No other space or shade. -The thermal spa is tiny with only 4 loungers. Not worth the price. -Limited smoking areas and none with loungers. Mostly under cover or standing only. This was not the first time on the ship. No children. "Almost 50 couple" Highest level of Princess Cruiser, Elite. Don't like structure. Never do excursions. Don't do traditional dining. Yes, that type of couple. Dual Income, No Kids (DINK) First, Fort Lauderdale with embarkation and disembarkation is just flawless. We know what to do as experienced cruisers, and they are just structured, easy to deal with, and very efficient. This cruise was HOT HOT HOT ... no, I mean temperature it was scorching! The cold water pool was even warm and the cold water in the shower was warm. So know, this cruise was not weather perfect, but it is July in the Carribean! The medallion process forward on the ship has gotten much better, but they are still inconsistent. The worse is when someone has to exchange their rooms. The last two times, including this one, the people could get into the rooms they were supposed to be one but retained their ability in getting into the old rooms too. So know, this is a major issue for them to resolve, but I don't think it affects many on the cruise thankfully. Overall, the medallion experience DOES make cruising easier as a whole, and I think Princess has something going on correct here. The games on the boards, etc., are really great for adults as well as the kids. In addition not having to unlock your room with a card is great especially when you have to go to the bathroom. The door is just open .... saying GO GO GO! That is service! Overall, the Caribbean Princess ship was well maintained and definitely has a great captain with details and order. I usually look at the flooring on the stairs for dust, and there was none. Where I also look was the air intake duct in the back of the ship and was dirty. I would think if there was more of a demand for the cleaning of these outside air ducts as routine the air quality would increase. To me, that is the biggest part that is missed on ANY CRUISE LINE. We did the Princess's ULTIMATE SHIP'S TOUR, and it was great. The captain was very attentive, talkative, and well "a great host" in the final part of the tour. It is a 3-hour tour (no jokes please), but you get to see the entire ship from the galley, dry cleaning, washing, printing, etc., usually on the last day. It is $150, but what you get 1 robe, 3 photos or more, frame or display casing, apron, name printed stationary, and more ... it is well worth the $150. However, there is only 1 tour per cruise and I have seen only 15 people at most. So, if you are going to get this tour, as soon as you get on the ship, RUN TO CUSTOMER SERVICE and get on the list. If you forget, check later and get on the waiting list, but you are likely not to get called. The new kids' areas and adult seating areas on the 17th floor is a great addition onto the ship. The add ons for the kids and the adults are just top notch. As a DINK, would like to see more adult seating and spacing like overhang, etc. Would like to see more adult fun nights in comedy, games (like drag queen BINGO), etc. to add something from the same old same old. We are adults. It is ok. Let the kids say on Deck 17. The food has gotten so much better with the variety and "mixing it up" so you don't feel you are not getting the same old same old in the buffet. But the buffet they have down. The traditional dining areas are always great but it is the service, and the service was spot on for this cruise. Buffet Secrets: Make your omelet first on the back of the buffet. Ask someone to help you the first day, then you can do it thereafter. Also, ask for REAL EGGS otherwise, you get the ones that are out of the box. We enjoyed the Go-Pro seminars and would go back for more advanced. FOR ALL CRUISE PEOPLE THAT EFFECT CHANGE: You sell Go Pros on board. It would be great if you could have an excursion that shows us the practical application of the Go-Pro in a variety of ways like running off a wharf into the water ... swimming underwater ... photographing a sunset. Then after all that is over, have a post-seminar in how to download it to a computer, the cloud, Instagram, etc. Team up with Go-Pro / whomever and show us how to use it more effectively. The sales will go up and satisfaction will go up. Maybe charge something but give it back to us in unique Go-Pro specific items. That is an excursion an elite person would enroll in! I missed the "animals" education seminar on board part of the cruise and wish that was still on board this cruise. From parrots, Husky puppies, and more this is an opportunity for those that did not grow up around animals (and maybe don't want the responsibility of an animal) to see and appreciate animals more. The parrot show in the Carribean was always a great winner. I hope to see it later in the year. With the specialty restaurants, they changed the menu with less risky and more for those whose pallets are not adventurous. There should be a couple of "adventurous" dishes so that those who enjoyed some of the old menus could maybe get that back. Just do it as first come first serve limited selection and do a small preparation. We Americans are used of that kind of eating out scenarios. By the way, if you are a suite taker with any of the Princess ships, MAKE SURE you get the breakfast in Sabatini's. Just one of the best perks on the ship. Skip the buffet. Go enjoy your spouse/kids for breakfast. Eating breakfast (and coffee) will make it easier to live with the spouse/family the rest of the day. Service was great. Seems the selection of crew overall was great. Spot on this cruise. The quality of onboard souvenier items seems to be taking a little dip down. If I wanted cheap, I could get off the ship. Don't compete with off ship items, you will lose. Do a more quality motto from a better class of nicer cards (people play cards a lot on a cruise ship) to shirts that don't scratch your skin (or burn) when you put it on like off ship. Entertainment was really good. I think sometimes people think they should get Broadway, but the acts are great. The magician was great. The comedy has been consistently great. Just I wish there was more of an ADULT night on a 7-day cruise. The kids don't have to see everything, and the fuddy-duddies can go to the earlier show. Anyway, great above average experience. Looking forward to setting sailing with Princess Cruises again. And glad to see the effort they are putting into trying to update the expectations with the implementation of new things on their cruise ships. Read Less

Plus princess were so nice to us giving us freebies to make our celebration more special. I'll b bac(in the terminator voice) lol. The ocean now app didn't work for me, idk if it's bcause I didn't have internet but they said u didn't need it. It would have been great if it worked. The shore excursions were great, we bought them at the port cause the price was pretty darn good. Patricia in the Medical Centre not only got me on my feet, but I was able to go on the shore excursion that we had been looking forward to for months. 2) Ivan - Food and Beverage Supervisor in Planks was remarkable. We even celebrated our 16th anniversary there. He was thoughtful, attentive and funny. 3) When we discovered a false charge on our account, they investigated it and credited it within 24hrs. 4) We didn’t use the internet with the Medallion program. It could be as integrated or as minimally used. It’s up to you. 5) We totally enjoyed Movies Under The Stars. It was so relaxing. 6) The food was incredible both in the included restaurants and ones you paid for. We enjoyed both. We highly recommend Planks and Crown Grill. Both were superb. 7) We sat out on the balcony every night and just admired the stars. It was better than Yoga!! 8) EVERYONE MUST GO TO CORAL WORLD in St. Thomas. My husband and I decided to do a Caribbean cruise for our anniversary, and my son’s high school graduation. I was a little weary about sailing on a Princess Cruise because it seems to cater to an older crowd, and we had an 18 yr old, 16, and 11 yr old with us. Half the passengers were senior citizens, and the rest were families. All of my kids made friends on board and had a great time. The food was great, the weather was perfect, the islands were beautiful, the crew went out of there way to cater to everyone. There were plenty of lounge chairs, and rarely any lines. The newlywed game and Voice of the Ocean was great. The medallion system and WiFi was exceptional. Movies on deck were great. My kids can’t wait to do another cruise. I like that the atmosphere is low key, and laid back. A slide or two for the kids would be nice, but I would definitely Cruise Princess again. Princess Cays, St. Maarten (Maho beach) St. Thomas (excursion to Trunk Bay St. John’s USVI) Perfect. Getting on and off the ship was well organized too. Read Less

We're experienced Cruisers (Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Norwegian, etc.) and we've done the "Caribbean" thing many times, so I wasn't expecting much more 'Pleasure' from this cruise other than "watching my Wife enjoy the Cruise" (She can make "waking up every morning" into an event ;) I was wrong, WE - HAD - A - BLAST!!!! We like to "Get off the Tourist Track" whenever Possible... When we travel, We take the Train System while in Europe, Visit Friends in Europe and in the Caribbean, etc. We didn't see any Princess Excursions that looked "Like Us", So we did our Shore Excursions online, not through Princess... We booked a Scuba Diving Trip on St. Thomas from my favorite little Dive Shop there (Been hitting it for 20 years or so?), and it was AWESOME! The Reefs are making a comeback pretty quickly! Christine and Chris did an EXCELLENT job of herding the divers through the tour.. Being experienced Divers, We had a little over 2K PSI of air left in our tanks when the other members of the Excursion (Beginners without Dive Licenses) were pushing their tanks down around 800-500 PSI, so Christine just told us, "You know your way around, Come back to the beach when you're ready" In St. Maarten we had pre-booked the "ATV Island Tour" through "Blue Bubbles Dive Shop"... AWESOME Folks to deal with!!! Dwight and Joshua are FANTASTIC Tour Guides!!! Up Front, you really need to have "Some" experience with an ATV to take this tour, or at least have "An Adventurous Spirit".. They run UPHILL, Up STEEP, Rocky, Dirt Trails, and then suddenly you're running "Wide Open, Throttle To The Stops" FAST, out on the main paved roads, on BOTH sides of the Island! We had several people that obviously didn't know what they were getting into with this tour, and had never ridden an ATV. They immediately began lagging WAY behind... Dwight asked them if they'd be more comfortable going back to the ATV Shop, and those folks took the Van ride back to the shop. After that, the rest of the group was WIDE OPEN again. Joshua played "Tail End Charlie" on the group, then he sped ahead and blocked roundabouts and intersections so the group wouldn't get separated by other traffic, then he'd pull in behind the group again... Lots of great stops for Pictures and "Rest Breaks", Including watching the Jets Land and Take-Off at Maho Beach and from the Sunset Bar. Hit "Confidence Nude Beach" on the French Side after Dwight CAREFULLY got the OK from the ENTIRE group... Just "Lots of Cool Stuff"! Blue Bubble Dive Shop is HIGHLY recommended for their ATV Island Tour, and for Dive Excursions! About the Ship... Our Children are "grown and gone and Producing Grandchildren", so we didn't have them with us. We booked a "Near Aft, Port-Side, Balcony Stateroom" (Back near the last Aft Elevators near the Adult's Pool and Bar). The Room was CLEAN and Pretty Quiet. We spent most of our "Room Time" out on the Balcony. We LOVED the "Movies Under The Stars" HUGE TV Theater out by the pools, Restaurants ("Sabatini's": AWESOME with STARS! 'Nuff Said ;). Pools, etc. Children on the Ship musta been having fun SOMEWHERE, because we didn't see or hear very many, except while trying to Snorkel on Princess Cay... Princess Cay is Highly Sculpted, like a Theme Park, and just wasn't to our tastes. I could go ON AND ON AND ON... Suffice it to say, I'm an Electrical Engineer and Retired U.S. Army.. My Wife is a Doctor Of Regenerative Medicine.. We own a secluded Mountain-Top Ranch.. We can (and DO) go "Anywhere we want to go". We "ALMOST" just stayed on the Ship to do a Western Caribbean Cruise! We had *THAT MUCH* FUN! The Staff was AWESOME (Without "staying up in our faces all the time"), the Ship was GREAT, The Medallion Services functioned Flawlessly, Internet was ACTUALLY Broadband, etc etc... We've decided that this was our Favorite Cruise EVER, and *THAT* is saying something! Few last things: Princess treats Military Veterans *RIGHT*! That was unexpected and GREATLY appreciated! We signed up for Early Debarkation (We carry our own Baggage), We had "Mobile Passport" on our Phones for Customs, etc,.. We left the Stateroom PROMPTLY at 7;30AM, and we were SITTING IN A TAXI by 7:52AM!!! That was an UNUSUAL Experience for us, so don't book Air-Flights around that information, but it happened! My nine year old granddaughter asked for strawberry soup and Frederick had it delivered every single night within 5 minutes of being seated even though it was not on the menu. Carlos treated the 2 girls (9 and 6) as princesses. He would bring a chopped fruit cup immediately for the baby. Loved the trip so much I am going again next year and will request both Frederick and Carlos again. Carlos has been on this ship for 14 years. He danced the Macarena with the girls one night. Loved the beaches at all 3 stops in Eastern caribbean. Perfect weather and seas as flat as glass. Port locations in the perfect location from where the ship docked. Medallion class worked perfectly. Boarded the ship within 5 minutes at ll:30 a.m. Virtually walked right on. Read Less

Chocolate Journeys desserts were AMAZING! I enjoyed my balcony stateroom on the Aloha deck foreword starboard. The food was great throughout the ship with only a few dishes not to my liking. I was able to relax on this cruise with a nice balance of sea days and port stops. The guests were great to meet and get to know and there was a mix of ages and group sizes and celebratory occasions. I enjoy Princess Afternoon Tea, English Pub Lunch, the pizza bar, and the movies in the stateroom and at the pool. The gym was great and I should’ve used it more. I wish the salads were better in the dining room but I guess I could’ve made my own in the buffet. I wish Princess had an itinerary out of Jacksonville or Orlando so I didn’t have to drive to Ft Lauderdale. Overall I really enjoyed my vacation. Read Less

We did the specialty Resturant and it doesn’t get any better than what they did. The food was excellent and the service was equal to it. The shows were very good and the performers were on the upper scale. I actually didn’t get the shows but it’s probably because I’m a bit older. The comedian was great. The magician was one of the worst most amateurish I’ve seen, probably why he’s on a cruise ship! Not good! The staff and crew were better than most. They cared. It’s important to me to see a happy crew and workers, the Captain must be doing a good job. Everyone wanted to help! I’ll continue to cruise and use Princess. Read Less

Work Was done on balcony they left a mess and the steward did not clean it. We are also nickel and dimes for everything We also had a prepaid dinner in the paid restaurant. We went to book in the steakhouse and was told they were all booked and we could eat in the seafood restaurant. I asked to speak to a manager and was told there wasn’t one and I didn’t have a choice Princess, I DO have a choice. There are many other cruise lines out there. We choose the Caribbean Princess based on recommendations from some friend who are big time cruisers. This was our first cruise so we really had no idea what to expect. We set off for a two week East/West Caribbean cruise to celebrate our 40th Anniversary. Here are a few things that we'd like to share. The good- The Caribbean is absolutly beautiful! The ship was beautiful and dang big. Takes days to see it all! We had smooth sailing even in somewhat rough seas. You're going to be around people from all over the world and our country, we really enjoyed this! The food was much, much better than we expected in every restaurant! The wait staff was exceptional! The nightly entertainment was much better than expected. There was always something going on. No matter what age, you'll find something fun to do! Loved the workout room, the sauna and steam rooms. There is a adult only "sanctuary" area for some quite pool/sun time. The high energy band "Static" was incredible! Most all entertainment was really good! The bad- We received $600 in onboard spending money. They took back $420 in mandatory tips for the hotel staff. Essentially, you're paying their wages for Princess Lines We had really good service and really lousy service. Regardless you're going to pay an additional 18% mandatory tip on all purchases regardless of service. We didn't like this. Spa prices are way over priced, especially the facials. The rooms are really small, showers are even smaller! Off shore excursions are over priced. Do your research and you'll find better for less. Our excursion to Xcaret was time limited and missed the best shows The ugly- If you do a facial, a massage or acupuncture be prepared for the sales pitch to buy the over priced products. Getting through to the front desk on the phone will drive you nuts. You're going to be nickel and dimed to death. We have traveled the world, I traveled for a living for 30+ years. This was big event for us, so we did it all. We had the balcony room, did the spa, acupuncture, facial, ate at a nice restaurant a couple of times. Drank some good wine and a lot of margarita's. After two weeks onboard, we had a great time but to be honest when I got the final bill, I just don't think the value was there. Paid a premium for above average vacation. Will make some changes and do more research for the next cruise. Read Less

Princess provides just a little more sophistication than some other cruise in today's more mixed cruise passenger clientele. By that I mean there is a more diversified passenger which require different styles on many lines. Tank top versus suit jacket simply. We prefer the latter when possible so Princess offers a better possibility of having that on a particular cruise. We have sailed Caribbean Princess before, last being 2014. We were sailing with friends that we have cruised with since 1992 when we met and stood up for them marrying on St Thomas. They wanted to re-visit Paradise Point, the location of the ceremony 27 years ago. We took Jr. Suites we were in D614. Found the location and condition of the cabin good. Bed extremely comfortable. We had been put off the Medallion program simply because of the incessant harassment of Princess to pre-participate in in it. Worse than robo calling. Emails, phone calls, texts, by time we got to pier we all hated the word Medallions. Medallion class more a market tool than a real boon to the world of cruising. Basically it is a half dollar size Medallian that houses an RFD chip. Chip readers everywhere including in your cabin. A gps locater and grocery store type tracking system, door key and pay for it card. No magic there but it worked well and we actually liked it in many ways. Opening cabin door via electronic lock, using it on slot machines instead of having to put a card in. We had traditional dining, staff were excellent, food, soso. They, like most lines still call medium shrimp Jumbo, large shrimp prawns, total bs. Lobster really no more, they are really prawns or rock lobster. Steak okay nothing to brag about. Of course continue to have option of BUYING better food even at main dining. We had complimentary dining evening at extra pay steak house. The ribeye was excellent, everything else run of the mill. Service staff masquerading as high end wait staff, basically NOT! I would equate main dining to high end diner, extra pay, to decent small restaurant in moderate sized community. Example in extra pay restaurant. Replacement silverware for main course placed, one fork dirty. Asked fancy waitress to replace since was dirty, answer " are you sure ? " Of course I am sure, matters not should be simply replaced. Steals came cooked perfectly no complaint but no one ever asked as served for us to check. A good restaurant would do that, a high end restaurant would never fail to check with you if our steak was properly cooked. Plus, you must be kidding me, extra charges if you want lobster in an already up charge restaurant? What a joke, if this had not been complimentary I wouldn't have even bothered going there. The buffet area same as always they simply changed decor and added cutesy signs. Food as good as any cafeteria I have been in. As with most lines now and Princess no exception, marketing gimmicks is where the money goes not food and service. Pool area, Pizza and outstanding Stromboli. Hamburgers, hotdogs and fries etc good. BUT GEEZ even there they have an up sale hamburger for $5. No I didn't try it nor did I see anyone else order one. Entertainment, was good mix comedy and show, magician was good but close hand magic hard sell in a large theatre. Moved slow and far from exciting though appreciated at least different. The comedy was excellent! Overall a very good cruise made so more by great initial deal, onboard credits etc. My wife spent several hundreds in spa and raved about the two head to toe whatever's she got and raved about their spa staff, excellent! Also excellent weather and smooth sialing never hurts. Ports we stayed on ship except for short trip to Paradise Point. Sadly yet another crazy place now, expanded, $21 pp to go up tram, 2 beers 2 Bushwackers, $36 a round. But still has great picture view of harbor. Internet, fastest I have ever seen on sea. Just as fast as my home network. I took unlimited 1 device, on first day with discount $56 for the week. Works for us, you can use different devices but only one at a time can be signed in. Families I could see this getting $$$ for needing multiple devices and unlimited. We did have interesting call for blood donors midway through the cruise for a sick or injured patient. The need was quickly filled. Never saw that before in almost 80 cruises. Also on way home we were advised we were going top speed for yet another patient to get back to Fort Lauderdale. However we slowed and arrived normal time, hopefully because they got better and refrigerated. BEST system on Princess out of Fort Lauderdale. For $25 a bag, they will take your bag last night and you don't see it again until final destination. They also get your airline boarding pass. Love that, no getting bags at pier and taking them through customs and bringing them to cab etc. There are restrictions, airline and flight times. One caveat this cruise, ship seemed to have some problems balancing air conditioning through out the ship. Both in cabin area and public area. The Explorer lounge area was always pretty warm section of ship. Wife really enjoyed the Parrots demo brought onboard in St Thomas. Used to be on Paradise point and she was disappointed not to see them there anymore. We had friends cabin decorated for anniversary. Good thing it's the thought that counts because for $49 the decorations were worth about three bucks. Some card on strings and a paper congrats sign on door, what a rip off. George in NY Read Less

We wanted to go on a 7 night cruise and try another Princess cruise. We had gone on a 7 night Princess cruise in December and it was wonderful and wanted to see if all of the ships were great. Embarkation was great and went smoothly. We always get there before they say you are supposed to and they were ready for us! The ship is clean, nice and had plenty of places to sit and relax. There are also many pools and hot tubs around the ship that are great. There is a children's water play area with a pool and hot tub (and bar for adults) in addition to the regular pool. There is also an exclusive adult pool near the gym and that was in addition to the Sanctuary (additional cost per day). We had an interior cabin and it was fine for 2 people! A very soft bed and comfortable pillows. Our steward was wonderful, helpful and kind. The evening dining was delicious! This was one area that was better than on the Royal Princess! The food was hot when it arrived. Our serving staff was excellent and always had the best recommendations. They were very accommodating even when we asked for a few little extras. The comedian on board was fantastic. I would like to hear him again! The gym was well equipped and the equipment was in good order. While on board we only had problems the first day or two. When we went to the Customer service area the staff who tried to help us were arrogant and not helpful. We went back later that day to ask for help (on the same matter) and that staff member sent us somewhere else. When that was not resolved I went back to tell them it was still a problem they shrugged and apologized and went to another customer. The general attitude of the staff on board seemed to be "do your job" not "take care of the customer while doing your job." I say that but then there are exceptions: the dining staff, our steward and the hospital staff! The first morning of our cruise I fell and hit my spine. I didn't think it was an issue until Wednesday evening when I began to have back spasms. By Friday morning I was in extreme pain and went to see the ship doctor. All of the staff of the hospital were wonderful. The front desk was fantastic. The nurse was excellent. The doctor was fantastic. The price was not exorbitant and then our ship insurance will take care of that! Read Less

Embarkation was swift and easy as well as the disembarkation. A nice surprise was the addition of Carrot Juice for breakfast as well as different types of pizza including deep dish varieties at other times. The singers and dancers performances were superb. They were always in sync, graceful and elegant. Don’t miss “Bravo” & “Fantastic Journey” We had a large number of first time cruisers of varying ages and there was always an activity to cater to everyone. And the courteous decorum of everyone was apparent. The Caribbean Princess is a Medallion Class Ship. There are still a few kinks to iron out but overall it was a great experience especially being able to wear your Medallion instead of carrying your card. As you approach your cabin, the door automatically unlocks. You can play games, locate your shipmates, and order drinks with the apps.
