What an amazing relocation cruise

We chose this cruise based on the amazing time we had previously cruising Diamond Princess from Singapore. This cruise left from Sydney and arrived in Tokyo and had heaps of sea days to really enjoy the boat. The kids had a blast in the kids club. In the fitness club we experienced a grumpy lady who didn't think my son should be using the equipment even though he was accompanied by myself. ...

Embarkation and disembarkation was a dream. Very organized, quick and easy. We had a cabin with a balcony which had a couple of chairs and a table. Spent many shore days enjoying the view. During the sea days, we had to take time out from the list of activities to take a quiet rest. You can only do so much. We learned how to sketch, and even produced acceptable portraits of Elvis and Marilyn ...

This was our 20th Princess Cruise. We can't fault the Wait Staff or the Cruise Staff. Everyone was friendly and efficient. We only went to the Dining Room once, which is normal for us. My Husband is a finicky eater and finds the Buffet more to his liking. The food was plentiful and enjoyable with good variety. We noticed more vegetables were available in the buffet, which we have commented ...

1. We try to go to places that we haven't been before and Japan fitted that criteria. 2. I thought the enterainment was very poor for the whole trip apart from about 3 shows. These were comedy and solo singing. I have watched as the selected acts over my sailing years have steadily declined which is very dissapointing.Surely there are entertaing acts out there. You probably need ...

One of our best cruises ever, except for disembarkation

Review for a Asia Cruise on Diamond Princess

All cruises are good. However, some are better and a select few are best. This was a ‘best’ cruise except for disembarkation which I will address separately at the end of this review. This cruise had just the right combination of entertainment program, food quality, staff attitude, and ship condition to make it one of the best cruises we have ever done. This was a transit cruise from Sydney ...

This is our third cruise on the Diamond Princess from Sydney to Yokohama. Dining : We were on the Sapphire Princess in February and the food in the Horizon and main dining room are much much better than Diamond Princess as the menu are all the same on the Princess to keep their cost down. Why is it on the Diamond princess is not up to the standard on the Sapphire. Sushi and Barramundi was nice ...

Pleasantly surprised

This was a 22 day cruise to Japan. The end destination was the main reason we chose this cruise but was unsure of the number of sea days. Apart from the Japan ports we had been to the others. A couple of tours the guides were not all that good but the cruise itself and the staff on board were much much better than expected. The staff are always friendly and helpful. The shows were all first ...

Sydney to Japan on Diamond Princess

My husband and I were keen to visit japan and this cruise also visited Borneo, Vietnam and Hong Kong. Embarkation from Sydney was with minimal waiting time. Our cabin was a balcony room aft on deck 12 and was lovely and quiet and large enough for both of us. I was a little seasick leaving Sydney which is usual for me and decided to lay on the bed to rest. I was disgusted to find our bed sheets ...

Too many cutbacks

This is our third and last cruise with Princess. The cutbacks in entertainment and previous offerings were felt by not only us but many other passengers we spoke too. No happy hour. Entertainment was of a lower standard. 22 days and no pool barbecue. Over 2500 people and only 2 shows in the princess theatre each nighy. So many people missed out. You had to be at the theatre by 7.00pm for a 7.30pm ...

We have just got off the Diamond after 22 days Sydney to Tokyo. We have traveled on her a couple of times previously and we must say that all in all it was a very good experience. The service was fantastic throughout the ship from the waiting staff to the room steward all done professionally and with a smile at all times. The staff in the skywalkers bar for elite drinks remembered our ...
