Great Itinerary--Ship not so great

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Crown Princess

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary. The crew is excellent and the true wealth of the Princess Cruise Line. The balcony cabin on the Aloha deck was tired and in need of a serious makeover. The food on this cruise was sub-standard and poor quality--tough pork and beef--poor selections--fish (trout) that the wonderful waiter told me not to order--he had already returned several portions ...

Customer service disapointing on ship

I thought the boat was nice and the cruise destinations were good, however the staff and cruise line were very uninformative. There was a change to our first port of call and we were not told at all. Hence missed out on a tour for the Amalfi coast drive not booked through the ship. Customer service of staff was appalling and the staff did not make us feel like we were welcome. everything was ...

The food is uninspired. With a small number of offerings at the Horizon Buffet that changed only slightly from day to day. Food from venue to venue tasted pretty much the same. Except for one dinner at the Crab Shack. That was marvelous. And one dinner at Sabatini's. Sabatini's was excellent with superb attention and care from the waiter. The Salty Dog... pass on that. The worst hamburger at ...

Expectations were too high for a mediocre and disappointing experience

I'll start by saying that we are a family of 4 adults who only chose Princess based on the ports of call in the Mediterranean. It was chosen for Santorini and Naples, in August where other lines did one but not the other. We have cruised before, one of which was a similar Mediterranean cruise but different ports. I'll start with the positives. The food and bar staff are exceptional, their ...

My husband and I sailed on the Crown Princess from August 4 - 11. We've had five cruises on RCI and HAL but this was our first time on a Princess cruise. We've loved all five of our previous cruises but we won't be doing another Princess cruise. I'll list the pros and cons. Pros: -the beds and bedding were super comfy -the International Cafe had good salads and the pastries in the morning ...

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary . My husband and I took our children, spouses and grandchildren (party of ten) on the 7 day cruise. My husband and I had gone on a previous cruise on another cruise line a few years ago and wanted to take our family to see some of these places. We booked 3 balcony rooms and 2 rooms across the hall. We were very disappointed in the cruise. The ...

Smelly and Cheap (Nickeled and Dimed at ever turn)

The destinations were great, more time at Messina and Crete would have made this portion of the trip outstanding (i.e. 10 to 12 hours at these ports would be ideal). 14 out of the 17 days we smelled sewage at various times on various decks while at sea, the other days were in ports. Passenger should not see bubbled up paint or rust anywhere where passengers can access, especially near the ...

My husband and I chose this cruise because we first took the Trans-Atlantic cruise from Fort Lauderdale to England. As long as we were in Europe we decided to take another cruise, a Mediterranean cruise. We traveled through England, Paris, ended up in Barcelona and embarked on the cruise there. We disembarked in Rome. The excursions were fine - the ship was not. There was a foul sewage smell ...

My wife and I booked 10 days Med cruise from Rome to Barcelona starting April 28, 2018. Two years ago we did British Isles cruise on Caribbean Princess and were satisfied with food, staff, entertainment etc. But this time on Crown Princess things were not so good, though embarkation was fast and easy. I attached 2 tags to each suitcase to find out latter that one suitcase is not delivered to my ...

What a complete let down on Crown Princess

Having read a previous review about this same holiday and the fact that they too did not receive a reply to their letter to Carnival House decided me that I must add my comments. We were at least informed about Rhodes, several months beforehand, although they couldn't/wouldn't explain why. This was one of the main reasons we booked the holiday - to meet up with friends. We should have taken this ...
