Having crossed the Atlantic last year from Southampton on the disappointed Sky Princess, our travel companions persuaded us to try again this year on the Enchanted Princess. This year was far better than last. We were disappointed to skip Funchal on the island of Madeira due to a strike by the Portugese harbor pilots and the substituted stop of Gran Canary was not nearly as good.
Overall the ...
Age 20-30, cruised with Royal Caribbean 15+ times so sought to try another cruise liner, and we were recommended Princess Cruises. Whilst we wasn't at all disappointed with the recommendation, as the service, food and ship itself could not be faulted, there is absolutely nothing to do for fun unless you like endless quizzing, bingo or forced game shows.
Of an evening, after dinner, there is no ...
Last minute booking for an inside room to Canaries, Madeira and Vigo from Southampton. Premium package taken.
In general pleased with the 10 day trip.
Food was good.
The MDR food was good, we took several evening meals and a couple of lunches. Service was generally good but the wine did take an age to arrive eg. ordered before a starter arriving with main 30 mins later. Formal night was ...
This is my very last transatlantic I will ever take this early in the year. I was on 2 previous crossings that started 4-6 weeks later and both times was much happier with the weather. Going in March is way too early. The seas were rough. Several cruise passengers were seasick. Luckily my spouse and I were never sick. However, we rented a lounge in the Sanctuary for discounted full trip ...
This was our first cruise for 2 years: Before the Covid pandemic we were regular cruisers with Princess. We liked many things about the Princess experience but I think that this cruise failed to live up to our expectations.
Firstly the dislikes.
Departure was chaotic and last minute info about Covid LF test requirements and changes in embarkation times were confusing.
The Medallion app, ...
Chose this cruise because of great port diversity: Rome, Kotor, Dubrovnik, Athens, Santorini, South France, Barcelona, Morocco and more. And Because we always have enjoyed Princess and specifically the Emerald.
Room was great, see below. cabin steward outstanding. Ship has been updated nicely.
Service in main DR was outstanding.
Unfortunately the food was terrible! which was a big ...
It has been awhile since we cruised with Princess and found that standards have dropped considerably! The choice of food is not as good, previously steak was a regular on the menu along with the nightly choices but now it's has been replaced with a burger! On offer for desserts was the alternative of cheese which consisted of dull, flavorless cheese and no biscuits! I had really been looking ...
Having returned 4 days ago from the 15-day Spanish Passage Cruise on Royal Princess, it is now time to write the review. Must preface this by saying I am not one to write detailed reviews of previous cruises, but I feel this cruise needs one.
Only married 6 years, my DH & I (in our 70's but young at heart) just discovered cruising in 2012, and have since done 37 days on Princess, 14 days on ...
The intererary fit with our plans and seemed a perfect compliment our three week Spanish holiday adventure.
Usually, when it’s time to depart a ship, we feel wistful...hate to leave. With Princess the feeling was one of relief; screeching cruise director, mediocrity of food and service, and a ship full of well, the home”.
Now, Imagine a cruise from Spain and Italy where the wine selection ...
Itinerary and timing were the prime reasons for this trip.
Food: Lacked variety; lacked care or attention to detail. Examples: smoked salmon was served in the mornings with salt-cured capers—not the vinegar-preserved variety that complements the fish. French onion soup lacked herbs and depth of flavor—not even a pinch of thyme or a drop of white wine—the Soup was more akin to brown water ...
