Antarctica! A dream destination!!

Review for a Antarctica Cruise on Sapphire Princess

The Sapphire Princess is in very good shape for an “older” ship. Sure, there were some stains on carpets and chips on tile, but on a whole I was very impressed. We enjoyed the fact that this Princess ship still maintains a full wide wrap-around Promenade deck (with only the need to go up and down a flight at the bow.) Embarkation: the worst ever. Princess was not prepared for this, although ...

Bucket List Cruise

This was a bucket list trip for me. We embarked in Buenos Aires and took it all the way to Los Angeles, around Cape Horn. The scenery around Cape Horn is truly spectacular. The cruise was 32 days. Even though my wife and I are in our early 70s, I think we were probably younger than the average passenger on the ship. There was one family that had two children. If there were other children ...

Very relaxing

We were on the 32 day "Andes and Cape Horn Grand Adventure" cruise around S. America. It was a very enjoyable cruise with a relaxed pace. Many of the port stops are at commercial ports/cities with not a lot to see; you have to travel to see the main cities/sites. Unfortunately, this was not communicated and understood. The ship is due to go in to drydock for maintenance shortly after the cruise ...

We wanted to visit Antarctica but was dreading the Drake's passage as one of us is prone to seasickness. So we decided to go with a suite on bigger ship instead of a cabin on one of smaller expedition class ship, giving up the opportunity to land in Antarctica. We had some of the best experiences on this cruise and some of the worst. The best experiences: (1) We had close encounters with ...

Princess cancelled our Far East cruise and the same day we were booked on to the Coral Princess going from Buenos Aires to Santiago. South America has always been on the bucket list so off we went. Embarkation was fast and well organised and so was disembarkation. Two ports had tender boats which was well organised. The ship is a little tired in places but the service from all the crew was ...

Selected this cruise due to Itinerary we had not visited including Carnival in Rio. and Princess had previously been our first cruise line choice State Room was clean..only 1 chair for 2 people..fridge didn't work. We wanted to go to Antarctica for an affordable price and were excited when Princess started offering trips there again after 8 years. We took our 2 kids (ages 6 and 8) and my brother even brought his 1 year old daughter. Pros: 1) Antarctica is truly beautiful and amazing. 2) The Falkland Islands were great and the tours are all in personal vehicles so you get a very small group as you ...

We chose this 30 day cruise to see South and Central America. We embarked in Buenos Aires, sailed around South America, up the west coast to Los Angeles. We visited 7 countries in all. Embarkation was delayed 5 hours so the cruise did not start out well. We then skipped our first port visit in Argentina due to high winds. The rest of the cruise happened as planned. The ship was nice and ...

So So 14 night South America Around the Horn

Review for a South America Cruise on Royal Princess

This was my 48th cruise and 19th on Princess, Buenos Aires to San Antonio. We flew from Phoenix via Atlanta to Buenos Aires and stayed 2 nights precruise at the Hilton. We toured the city and it was very hot and the traffic was awful. We relied on taxis which were very reasonable. The day of embarkation we received an email stating the ship would be delayed and not to show up before 4pm at the ...

We chose this cruise because we had been wanting to cruise through South America and this ship offered us the best deal and visited all the places that we wanted to see. This was our first time on Princess. We arrived in Buenos Aires 2 days prior to our cruise. We stayed at the Novotel Hotel. It was very nice, centrally located, reasonably priced and the service was excellent. We had ...
