A disappointed trip

Review for a South America Cruise on Sapphire Princess

We have cruised many times of Princess. We were very disappointed on this trip. We booked it as a 32 day cruise from Buenos Aires to LA, not knowing that it was two trips. We did expect rough waters but we didn't except not to see Cape Horn, one of the reasons for the trip. We also had a port excluded because of the weather. There were so many extra sea days. The food and entertainment was ...

A cruise of two opposites!

We chose this cruise for the opportunity to see several landscape/wildlife areas of south america that we have always wanted to see. Tores del Paine National Park in Patagonia Chile was our primary reason for this cruise. We have cruised with Princess on four previous occasions- Panama Canal, Alaska, Caribbean and Rome to Athens. We have only had minor problems with Princess and thus the reason ...

Been on 8 Princess cruises, this time wasnt that great, the ship was tatty, on our balcony (B531) the wooden rail was loose, the toilet seat was broken, the hairdryer cut out every minute or so. There was a lot of rust. Theatre shows dire, the dining rooms menu hasnt changed since our first cruise and above all we didnt go round Cape Horn as the Captain told us 50 minutes before we should have ...

Ship, inside and out

Review for a South America Cruise on Emerald Princess

The outside of this ship is well designed. Not so the inside. First the good stuff. If you like to walk a ship's promenade deck, this one is very nice. It's wide and goes all the way around the ship if you climb a few stairs, giving you great 360 views of the sea and sky. You can do the same on deck 16, also with a few stairs. The inside is different story. The design is flawed, mainly ...

Chose the cruise for its itinerary. Spent 2 days in BA prior to embarkation. Worthwhile to see BA. Embarkation process could have been smoother. Personnel lacked proficiency with the English language as well as familiarity with the process. Disembarkation much better in San Antonio-however the port is very industrial and there is NOTHING to see/do in this very economically depressed city. Have to ...

I GOT SICK ON THE SECOND DAY OF THIS CRUISE! And I'm still sick! Thank God we took a 2 day private tour of Iguazu Falls before getting on...or it would have been a bad time overall.. The second night onboard, after leaving the Crown Grill, we went to the Magic Show..I saw clouds of smoke come down from the top center of the theatre.. I started coughing w/ a tickle in my throat for the ...

Somehow I have managed to delete my very long review twice so I'll just make is a short as possible. Herded like cattle at embarkation. No bath towels for two days because they could not discharge gray water. So my arrival was a surprise to them. Could not enjoy the expensive aft balcony as it smelled like rotting food garbage the whole 19 days. Could not enjoy the aft view because it ...

Most Frustrating Cruise

We chose this cruise because we wanted to sail around the horn and prior to this experience, we have cruised Princess on 10 different cruises so we felt we would receive the same standard of service we were used to. Embarkation was unorganized and there was no advantage to being Platinum, Elite or Suite passengers...everyone was funneled into a large room and then waited in line to get from one ...

Crown Princess from Buenos Aires

Review for a South America Cruise on Crown Princess

We had been looking at a Buenos Aires to Santiago Chile cruise for about five years and decided on this cruise due to Princess' perceived reputation of being more upscale than other lines. We were disappointed at almost every turn. To begin with, we embarked a day late in Buenos Aires due to the death of a passenger in route from Rio. However, when we (a party of six) arrived at the designated ...
