We loved Sapphire Princess!

Review for a Baltic Sea Cruise on Sapphire Princess

We're regular cruisers who defer to RCI first but in recent years tried Princess Cruises mainly for the competitive pricing. That's why we chose this cruise. We've done the Norwegian Fjords before but wanted to go again, and the price for this was great. We have tried their mini suites and balconies previously. This time we just went for an inside cabin and although it's the cheapest it was fine. ...

Good but could have been so much better

this was our first cruise from Southampton and embarkation could not have been easier we were settled in and drinking coffee before we would ordinarily have even taken off on a flight to a start port further afield. Sapphire Princess is a lovely ship although some of the bars are a little too dark for daytime use on wet sea days. The conservatory is a useful addition for those days tough. ...

What Happened to Princess

Review for a Norwegian Fjords Cruise on Sapphire Princess

Took this cruise out of South Hampton to Norway. First of all Norway was fantastic. The cruise however was not. Poor service at the Horizon Court Buffet, not a great selection of foods, boring breakfast, seemed to be geared for the UK customer’s foods and likes, Cruise did not feel very international, an unfriendly crew, and waiters who had no sense of urgency. Our cabin steward was outstanding ...

Beautiful Norway. Average Ship

We chose this particular cruise because it included Bergen; a city where family ancestors lived and still do. The Ship: Embarkation was a breeze. Actually, so was disembarkation! I give those two things an A PLUS! The ship itself was not impressive, and we are Platinum Princess cruisers. Literally there were no surprises or anything unique about this ship. I suppose that is a draw for many ...

We chose this cruise as we had not travelled to the Scandinavian countries before. It was beautiful although you need to pack some warmer clothes as on occasion jumpers and long trousers were required. But the sun was out most days but a cool breeze The food on board was amazing. The variety terrific. Whether you dined in the restaurant or at the smorgasbord I could not see any grounds for ...

We choose this cruise for the itinerary and the fact we sailed with Princess before. We were not disappointed with either. Service, food, ship cleanliness, events on board...all were excellent and done very well. Embark/Disembark is smooth, easy to get around on ship, cabin size is fine (we had Balcony rear part of ship), quiet cabin. We did the "anytime" dining which worked well for us. Some ...

Great Ports & Excursions, but Onboard needs improvement

We're Platinum level cruisers with Princess. Middle aged married couple. Chose this cruise mostly for it's destinations and the Regal Princess itself. 11 nights around the Baltic. On the plus side, the ports and the 3 Princess excursions we booked were great! Copenhagen, Oslo, Warnemunde/Wismar, Germany, Tallinn, Estonia, St. Petersburg (!!), Helsinki, Stockholm, back to Copenhagen. All had ...

Excellent time in the Baltic

Always wanted to travel there. Had done most of the cruises leaving from the USA and needed to branch out into other countries as we like cruising. The ports of call were spectacular. Coming from Texas we loved the cool temperatures. We enjoy just walking around and soaking up the culture. We took none of the Princess excursions, opting to wing it when we got there. Entertainment was ...

Lovely ship, good itinerary, but restaurant badly organised and crew unfriendly.

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary, it didn't disappoint. We loved the ship, the decor of the public spaces was very good. The food in the 'Anytime Dining' restaurant was good although the service was dismal, out of 11 nights we were sent away with a 'beeper' and had to wait anything up to 45 minutes. We were so frustrated, that on two occasions we gave the beeper back and went to ...
