I guess the size of your dividend matters if you hold Princess Cruises shares but the size of the queues matters if you are a passenger on their new giant ships. And I really wonder how much longer the wonderful crews they employ can keep carrying their reputation and where the cruise industry is heading with the number of passengers they are cramming onto their ships.
OK this was our 8th ...
There were 10 of us that cruised this time. This was our 3rd Princess cruise, this time from Sydney to Hobart-Port Arthur-Kangaroo Island.
We had smooth sailing for the first half and lumpy seas with a swell for the second half. On the final leg we sailed through a meeting of three rain events the caused us to be late in getting into Sydney Harbour. The pilot boat couldn’t get out to ...
Will definitely cruise on this ship again if we have the chance. Embarkation was a breeze we were on board within 30 minutes of port arrival. Disembarkation was also good also around 30 mins after joining cue.
We have cruised with R.C, P&O, and Carnival previously and found this ship to be in most aspects a cut above. The decor is clearly more premium including the stateroom. Staff were ...
FOOD
Worst Bacon and Coffee of any cruise ship. Poached eggs came out without and white - just a yolk.
Worst breakfast Service ever - 45 minutes for eggs to arrive. Cold toast turned up 5 minutes later.
It was only an 8 day cruise but repetion of menu wasn't great.
None of these had a huge impact on overall experience. We didn't starve :)
SHIP
Worst designed Ship we've sailed on. ...
I’ve already done the survey that they send you but realised after I sent it that I hadn’t commented on the born to dance show that I went to see while I was on the cruise . It was absolutely spectacular, I still can’t believe how good it was . I’ve been to watch shows all over including west end and broadway and this was way up there with the best . The singers and dancers were fabulous . Food ...
Compared to previous Princess cruises, this was definitely a step down in service, food, entertainment. The ambiance of cruising was not there. No dress code for the MDR. Food service slow… MDR was akin to eating at the local diner.
The staff did not make the experience ‘special’. Limited engagement with the waitstaff..more of a serve and get it over with vibe. Orders were sometimes ...
This was our first cruise on the Majestic after other cruises on various Princess ships.
We loved that you could hardly feel any movement as the ship was so large. Our room was further to the front.
Jamie’s band were absolutely amazing and had the passengers rocking. We spent most of our nights on the dance floor, which was on level 5 near the Vibes Bar. The team there were always busy but ...
We chose this cruise to use up some cruise credits after contracting Covid on a 21night Mediterranean cruise in 2023 and being isolated for a week. As we were in Sydney for other reasons, it was opportune to incorporate the cruise as well.
Embarkation and Disembarkation were both quick and seamless. Despite having the required Princess profile photos, security are insistent on taking another ...
Oh boy, this is my first Prince's cruise, I have been a steady Carnival cruiser for 20 years, but this trip we changed to Princess. So after 2 at sea days getting from Sydney to New Zealand, the dreaded announcement came on from our captain that the call to the Bay of Islands (1st port-of-call) was getting cancelled due to weather, namely winds about 25kts. That the Majestic couldn't hold her ...
This is our 4th time on Grand Princess, and it is still a very nice ship, in spite of being their oldest. The Princess food experience remains very good, but they slip up in a few areas that would not have happened 5 years ago. Having also cruised with P&O and Cunard in the last 2 years, Princess are way ahead.
Our cabin has the usual issues of an older ship, very poor ergonomics, and very ...
