PLEASANTLY SUPRISED

Having had a few clients that were not impressed with the Majestic Princess (I am a TA) I but my hubby choose this cruise for the main reasons that it was a new ship, we get to cruise NZ again and spend Christmas on board. The ship is large (143,700 tonnes) and the only time it felt crowded was in the World Fresh Market Place (normally called Horizon Buffet on most of the other Princess ships). ...

We chose this cruise to experience a reasonably new ship and to have a Christmas at sea. We overnighted in Auckland before going down to Princes Wharf about midday on the 18th. Our bags were whisked away in a flash and we then presented ourselves at Check In. As we were the first deck to load we were on the ship around 1230hrs and got our first look at the Atrium all decked out for Christmas with ...

Chose this cruise because it had an associated land tour after the cruise. The major issue was neither the cruise or land tour. It was what Princess did during booking. We booked a room almost one year before the cruise on deck 14 (room 505) with a balcony on the starboard side after much research. After everything was paid and approximately 45 days before the cruise they gave our room away ...

Christmas with B2B with New Year Cruise

This cruise was our 'move-over' cruise from 2016, so we were upgraded to a Club Class Mini Suite. We combined this with the New Year cruise so had 25 days aboard the Majestic! We have been on many New Zealand Australia cruises, so for us the ship was the destination. We also had the pleasure of cruising with friends we met on the Diamond in 2010, plus introduce another friend to the pleasure ...

Found ship hard to move around, to many pinch points for the number of people moving through, can't walk around ship on any level. Dining Service was slow and unfinished. Entertainment was all at once, seems to stop everyone doing everything as not nearly enough space for everyone.Cabin was suitable for our needs, Hollywood area was good, but with no open air smelt of chlorine which upset my nasal ...

It’s Majestic but be aware of obstructed balcony views due to “Sky Walk”

We chose the cruise for the destination as we wanted to be in Sydney for the New Year Celebration and the cruise ended on December 30th. I was very disappointed in the Lotus Spa on this ship. I booked a 90 minute massage and upon my arrival was shown to the co-ed “relaxing” area. This was not a spa atmosphere - more like a doctor’s office waiting room. No nice bathrooms to relax in, not even ...

I was very dissapointed in our cabin. Firstly theres no excuse for filth. My sheer nylon curtains were absolutely filthy and asked them to be removed and cleaned. Secondly we couldn't and i mean couldn't open the door to the balcony, so much so they had to take it off in Bay of Islands and put new rollers on. Thirdly the carpet in front of the couch was soaked from the bathroom leaking. That ...

DISAPPOINTMENT

We chose this Princess ship for the itinerary in New Zealand and Australia. However, compared to other Princess cruises taken in Asia, South America, Europe, it was disappointing, perhaps due to the crowds (3,500 passengers). Embarkation in Auckland and disembarkation in Sydney were fine; spacious mini-suite cabin, though the balcony here was small (Lido deck). We found the food on the whole to ...

Having sailed once before on Princess's former Dawn Princess to Alaska 20+ years ago, we selected this New Zealand/Australia 13-day cruise precisely because of its stops in New Zealand and Australia and because of our fond memories of our previous Princess experience. We were NOT disappointed. The ship provided 5-Star Service by the dining room staff in the Club Class anytime dining room, ...

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary. We started in Auckland, NZ and ended in Sydney. There were three stops in Australia and we wanted to see as much as we could. This is a wonderful trip but do not wait until you are too old to do things because the tours can be pretty walking intensive. Scenery in these countries is wonderful. Auckland is worth an extra day. There are many ...
