MAJESTIC PRINCESS We did this trip for our 25th anniversary. Thanks to the Princess staff for the lovely banner and balloons. EMBARKATION was poor due to us receiving the wrong wharf information. We had Prince’s wharf in our itinerary but the day before we received an email telling us it was now Queen’s wharf. After being dropped at Queens Wharf, we had to trawl our suitcases through the ...

Terrible, worse cruise ever!

We have been on more than 10 Princess cruises and this ship by far is the worst. Mini suite is so much smaller than on the older ships, had to move the table each time to be able to walk past the sofa. Balcony is so much smaller and not enough storage cupboards. Bed was also not as comfortable. We had set dining and the choices and quality of food was not as previous, usually cold and slow ...

Such a fantastic ship and the step up in quality from our previous provider was HUGE. I didn't think it would be that different from our previous cruises but it really was. The rooms were so much tidier and newer. The bed was very comfortable and the air con worked well. On previous cruises the air con didn't work which was horrid. Food was fabulous, outstanding in fact and we all put on ...

A comparison - Majestic Princess and Regal Princess

Majestic Princess, Auckland to Sydney, 18 December 2018 Context: We had previously cruised on the sister ship, Regal Princess (Baltic, August 2018) We note that Majestic Princess has been specifically configured for the Chinese market, this may not be a good thing when the ship is based, albeit temporarily, in other parts of the world such as Australia. Overall: We judge “Regal” to be far ...

I want to share some very good aspects and some not so good issues. Start with the good then bad and finish with the ugly. The good was the buffet, Hamburger grill, fitness center, and some of the service. The bad was one of our shore excursions "The Train Ride" to no where and stop at stops of nothingness ( it was a waste of money and a wasted day). The ugly is what I call it when you go to the ...

Having had a few clients that were not impressed with the Majestic Princess (I am a TA) I but my hubby choose this cruise for the main reasons that it was a new ship, we get to cruise NZ again and spend Christmas on board. The ship is large (143,700 tonnes) and the only time it felt crowded was in the World Fresh Market Place (normally called Horizon Buffet on most of the other Princess ships). ...

We chose this cruise to experience a reasonably new ship and to have a Christmas at sea. We overnighted in Auckland before going down to Princes Wharf about midday on the 18th. Our bags were whisked away in a flash and we then presented ourselves at Check In. As we were the first deck to load we were on the ship around 1230hrs and got our first look at the Atrium all decked out for Christmas with ...

First Princess Cruise & Last

Chose this cruise because it had an associated land tour after the cruise. The major issue was neither the cruise or land tour. It was what Princess did during booking. We booked a room almost one year before the cruise on deck 14 (room 505) with a balcony on the starboard side after much research. After everything was paid and approximately 45 days before the cruise they gave our room away ...

We chose this cruise to celebrate with a friend who was turning 70. Having this celebration and Christmas on board was a highlight. The boat was decorated throughout with Christmas decorations, making for a pretty sight. Whever you dined the food was exceptional along with the staff that worked continuously throughout. Talking about the staff - we made conversation with quite a few to ...

Smooth sailing on the Majestic

This is only the sixth cruise of my lifetime (on five different lines) and it was easily the best of the lot - to say nothing of the tremendous value it represented versus Regent et al. Even if all six cruises had identical prices, this cruise would have earned first place by a wide margin. The ship, itself, is so new and well-maintained that it spoiled us with its finishes and amenities. ...
