First Time Alaska Cruiser

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Majestic Princess

We sailed Majestic in June 2023 on the Alaska southbound cruise. We chose this ship for its itinerary, wanting to see Glacier Bay (GB did not disappoint!!). Overall, it was an amazing vacation (as our naturalist Mark said, This is Alaska, This is Why You Came). First, the positives of the ship…excellent staff, great food (Catch by Rudi was by far the highlight meal of the week), the ship never ...

Wonderful time

I have wanted to go to Alaska for many years. This trip did not disappoint. We first took a 6 day land tour. The princess lodges were all beautiful, and the excursions so much fun. Our only issue was how expensive the food was in the lodge restaurants. $22 for what was the same kind you would have a nice hotel offer free seemed a little high. We had only cruised Carnival before, so we weren't ...

We chose this cruise as it was offered to us at a deeply discounted price. We live in Tennessee. We flew to Seattle and stayed the night at the Crown Plaza near the airport. The next morning we went back to the airport and took a Princess bus to Vancouver. Took us about an hour to get on ship from the time we got off the bus. Our room was ready and our luggage arrived shortly after. Room ...

My first Princess cruise in 12 years

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Crown Princess

I was on Diamond Princess about 12 years ago in Australia/NZ and was completely unimpressed - I thought the food and service was awful overall. Now that I'm retired and traveling more, I wanted to give Princess another try. I've changed a lot in 12 years, and I thought Princess might be different too. I'm very glad I did. I realize the review below spends more time on negatives, but I wanted to ...

Alaska cruise excursions well worth the money.

The Alaska cruise was amazing! The excursions that Crown Princess offered were well worth the money. For example, we went right up to the glazier and was amazed out how beautiful and large it was and we also took another boat tour and were able to see killer whales, gray whales, sea otters and sea lions. Wow! That was an incredible experience! The brown bear sanctuary was an eye opener along with ...

Great Cruise for Us

We have been on the Discovery Princess on a previous Mexican Coastal cruise and enjoyed it. We chose early in the season which can be a gamble due to the weather or wildlife sightings. We scored on the weather, sunny and warm until the last day at sea with rain and choppy seas and it was a bit cool in Victoria in the evening. Discovery Princess is the newest ship in the fleet in service. ...

Part of a package holiday as we wanted to see Alaska! ( week touring Canada first based in Banff) Visited towns were great, did majority of trips advertised but used local tours. Which enabled us to see more places and far cheaper than booking on ship. And smaller groups, we do this whenever possible to see the real places from a local perspective. The ship was very nice, but to big for us. ...

First Cruise to Alaska

My sister & I took this cruise as our annual get-away. We experienced both good & bad on the cruise. The ship was beautiful but very crowded. Elevators were always slammed. Getting on and off at each destination was not pleasant, they herded us like cattle. Many of the staff were short with us and unfriendly. That came as a surprise. Our room steward was awesome (Roselle) and kept our cabin ...

Great Alaskan experience and good mid-class cruise

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Majestic Princess

This was my 7th cruise and first time with Princess. I decided to try Princess because of the promises that they were the “luxury” experience above the normal, mid-range cruiselines. It was a great cruise, but not what I would describe as luxury. With 3150 passengers and 1300 crew we were highly served and the ship was under-capacity. Other than the buffet, it certainly felt spacious and open. ...

This was my 11th sailing with Princess and my 3rd cruise to Alaska. It was my first time on the Majestic, and I was more excited about the ship than the destination this trip. I was not disappointed as the ship was - Majestic. She's beautiful, with a refined, elegant, decor. Which is one of the things I like most about Princess Ships. The layout is typically the same on Princess ships, and ...
