This was my 7th cruise, 3rd on Princess, and I'm in my early 50's travelling with my wife. My daughters are in university and they are required to pay half the costs of that, so they were a little salty about being left behind in Vancouver to work. Life lessons!
We had a wonderful cruise, with the highlights being a sunny day in Glacier Bay, the best buffet we've ever experienced at sea, and ...
Third cruise but first time in Alaska. We selected this cruise for the itinerary. Our group was large and multi-generational (ranging from seniors to toddlers), with a variety of room types.
STATEROOM - Excellent
Our first time splurging on a mini-suite with balcony and we found it worth the price, particularly for sailing in Alaska (spectacular views all day - we saw whales and seals from ...
We flew into Vancouver a few days early to have a look around.
Stayed at the sunset inn and suites - it wasn't anything fancy but very clean/comfortable and in a really good location within easy reach of most things, plus a lot of shops/food just a street over.
Check-in was good from the Princess side but getting through security/immigration was a bit tedious. Probably almost 1.5 hours in ...
We chose this trip because we’ve never been to Alaska and wanted to see a lot. We did the right thing by doing the 5 day land tour first. We started in Fairbanks and stayed at the Princess River lodge 2 nights. The room was adequate and the beds comfortable. Really enjoyed the River cruise and gold dredge tour but the lunch provided wasn’t good. Perfect weather. On to Denali where we went on the ...
Island Princess was a nice ship. Smaller and less spacious than the previous Royal Princess that we have been on. But we knew this when booking.
Shower in cabin is EXTREMELY small. We are small to average size people and found this shower to be very tight.
Paid ahead of time for the full photo package however sometimes the photographers left early and set up late so we missed them sometimes. ...
Embarkation/Disembarking was very good. Entertainment was great. They had a comedian who engaged the audience in a fun way. We had the paid coffee package which was just okay. The alcoholic drinks we ordered were excellent. Although the ship was older the public areas were very nice and clean. The food was very good. You are not getting top of the line cuts but still very good. The desserts were ...
did cruise tour land first - Fairbanks then Denali then southbound to Vancouver.Made us want to come back to interior of Alaska for extended period of time. Saw Mt. Denali. I LOVED The long train ride - i stood most of time outside taking pictures.
Room was great location.
did my own laundry which was a bit of work as coin machines not working. but once i got coins it went smoothly - ...
Let's be honest - Alaska pretty much sells itself. We could have been on a tugboat and still fallen in love with Alaska. But, that being said, there are still a few things to point out about this ship.
Embarkation out of Seattle was a dream. We arrived via uber and 45 minutes later we were in our cabin WITH OUR SUITCASES. Seriously - it was amazing.
We did anytime dining and therefore ...
We had not been to Alaska before but have heard that everyone who goes loves it so we decided to give it a try. Alaska exceeded all of our expectations. Embarkation was easy, make sure you do all of your medallion stuff before you go and get your medallion mailed to you. This will make embarkation quicker. The ship is beautiful and very big. The staff kept it so clean and that was wonderful. I ...
Just returned from a 7 day cruise 5 day land trip on Princess to Alaska.Have sailed the last three years on the sister ships to this one the Regal and the Majestic so very familiar with the layout of the ship. This one is the oldest of the three and some small gripes.1 The laundromat machines for tokens were not working half the time we were on here and 2 the drink machine in the Fitness Center was ...
