This was my 10th cruise, but my first on Princess, my first ever visit to Alaska and the first cruise that didn’t require air travel (which also typically requires a day or two of hotel on each side as well). It was also my first non-warm weather cruise. Seven of my previous nine cruises were on Carnival, one was on NCL and one was on Louis in Greece.
Overall, the cruise was very nice. Like ...
We chose the cruise because the departure port and arrival ports suited us. There were just too many people on the ship especially for the smaller ports of an Alaskan cruise, we would never travel on a ship that size again. The mid ship lifts were always busy with a long wait to get one, getting on and off the ship and the shuttle into the town (Sitka in particular) was just one queue after ...
We're Elite with Princess, Club/Reserve Mini Suite Level and sail with them 2-3 times a year and just returned from a 7 day Calif Costal Cruise. I have no problem rating Guest Service at 5 Stars throughout this cruise and our 2 previous cruises in 2022.
Despite having access to the Club/Reserve Dinning Room, we've noticed that since the Covid reopening Princess's food quality and variety has ...
Most of the major aspects of the cruise was acceptable. The room was clean, but very small. That's to be expected since it was an inside room. The food was the best part of the cruise. The dining room food was very good. The buffet was barely acceptable. Breakfast items did not change very much. There was not enough seating during the busy hours. The coffee at the buffet was terrible. It was very ...
The evening I got home from my cruise I tested positive for Covid. As I have been four-times vaccinated, I am confident my symptoms will not last more than a few days. But I do have to question why Princess no longer positions a crew member at the buffet entrance checking the use of hand-sanitization (like it used to do in norovirus days and on all my previous cruises with the cruise line).
As ...
We joined friends for this cruise. I was in the navy and did many 5 day sails to and from Hawaii. My wife really wanted to go and even though I had reservations I agreed. The ship was good and the trip was good for the first half of the trip. We had some slightly rougher seas but they slowed down slightly to reduce movement. My wife has food allergies and the dining room floor manager did a great ...
We chose this cruise to have a break going down the Pacific Coast at a good price - repositioning cruise. There was a Celebrity Cruise (our Favourite line) going the same time however, was more expensive and we thought we'd give Princess a second try especially on their new ship. In hindsight I would have preferred to stay with Celebrity as I think the quality is higher and food much, much better ...
Took friends on a 12 day of Alaska to show them the advantages of ocean cruising and show off Alaska.
Ship was in good shape, staff was excellent, food ok, entertainment ok with a couple of excellent people. Mechanical issues caused us to leave in the middle of the night causing us to miss Icy Strait Point, our whale watching port. The Endicott Arm scenic cruising was a fabulous day. ...
This was my husband's and my honeymoon and our travel agent had arranged for extras for our stateroom. When we arrived NOTHING had been done. Also, while the room was kept up, it was like a hotel, no animals or anything made out of towels, bed wasn't turned back, no extras as with other cruises.
The buffet food was so undesirable it was known by the people on the ship as the "trough"! The food ...
We chose this Alaska cruise almost immediately after a cruise on Holland America in June - this was our 3rd trip to Alaska. We also had to use up a credit we had with Princess from 2020. We had such a fantastic experience on the Zuiderdam in June we couldn't wait to go back. This was our third Princess cruise to date, previous cruises were Royal Princess in the Mediterranean and Caribbean ...
