We have been on more than 20 cruises but none in 3 years due to the pandemic, so I picked this cruise as it was relatively short, inexpensive and easy for the 4 of us to get to. This was our 3rd Alaskan cruise on Princess; the other two had different itineraries.
On the positive side, the food in the Concerta Main Dining Room was excellent as was the service. Although we would have preferred ...
This was the third Alaska cruise that I have taken with Princess Cruises. We were on the Crown Princess on the Lido deck. We cruised with my parents and Adult children. My parents and my husband and I had no problems with our room but our kids room was ‘broken’. The a/c didn’t work, after 2 days of trying to fix it they gave them a fan. Carpet coming off of wall, gross stuff growing on the balcony ...
We chose this cruise because of the wonderful ports of call in AK and CAN. We ended up with fantastic weather which made the cruise even better. We had extended time in most of the ports of call. Our favorites were Juneau, Ketchikan, and Victoria. Icy Strait Point does not offer a lot if not doing an excursion. The town of Hoonah is close by, but transportation there and back was challenging (no ...
Overall Princess knows how to visit Alaska and they do it well. The itinerary was wonderful, Sitka, Haines, Glacier Bay, Juneau and the not so wonderful Prince Rupert. The voyage was rough going but fortunately neither of us gets motion sickness, we enjoyed walking the empty outside decks and really blustery FRESH AIR. This was a full ship.
Embarkation in San Francisco was a breeze. We headed ...
This was a bucket list item for husband and I. It was our 3rd Princess cruise. The Royal Princess is a beautiful ship. But our cruise was a bit disappointing. First, the weather was bad. No one's fault and we did choose May. The scenery is very beautiful. We hardly saw any wildlife which is, again, no one's fault but disappointing. Our hike in Juneau was canceled; we weren't given a ...
This was a couple’s cruise for us to celebrate our anniversary. Embarking was fairly easy. Princess does a great job for passengers with mobility challenges. We had lunch in the Skagway Dining Room with great service. We loved the location of our balcony cabin. Things were off to a fine start.
The balcony was lovely with plenty of space. The cabin itself felt a bit small, and everything was so ...
Total confusion from the start. Airline tickets with not enough time between flights. On disembarkation you need 5 hrs after port. We had to take a taxis to the airport to make flight (still have not received refund for shuttle). Lost backpack on ship at disembarkation reported it to Princess no response. Travel insurance through Princess stated they need Princess to reply before they can start my ...
Alaska was beautiful. As far as the cruise part of it, the food was not impressive at all. The flavor was just not there. Many items were not labeled. For people with food allergies or being vegetarian, that can be a problem. The things that were supposed to be in my parents stateroom were not provided ( toilet riser and hand held shower nozzle) The entertainment was just ok. The entertainment and ...
This was our 12th cruise on Princess. We were on the Royal Princess, a beautiful ship. We were booked in a mini-suite, mid-ship deck 10. Great location, close to everything. From the time we arrived at the pier we were onboard in about 40 minutes. There was some confusion about what to do with luggage but it was resolved and everyone was on there way to the ship.
We were onboard early but ...
This is a review of my recent cruise on the Grand Princess including the new Premier Level option.
We went on back to back weeks from Vancouver to Alaska and back again. We were in a mini-suite.
The highs:
--The room was nice: large bathroom, plenty of storage, a sitting area with couch and table and a nice balcony.
--Room Stewart was great. She went above and beyond. Two examples: ...
