We always wanted to try Princess...when friends asked us to join them on Princess we jumped at the chance.
First the good:
Itinerary was great...especially the Hubbard glacier and Glacier Bay Park. Really great close up views of glaciers with park rangers giving commentary.
The bed was really comfortable.
Unfortunately, those are the only good comments I have.
Now the not so ...
So many events and shows to keep you busy. Best of all, all the staff were super awesome, friendly, attentive and courteous!! We were treated like royalty throughout the trip!!! This reason alone makes us want to do it again! Thank you Nino, Mariam and Seon!
Everywhere you went on the ship were clean! There’s enough staff to ensure you have everything you needed and more!
Food was delicious ...
Had the time of my life. Great Ship and polite crew. Went Club Class. Food was great and the scenery in the Fjords was breath taking.
One small not so minor thing was the "at sea internet". It only worked about 10 percent of the time with a connection speed of 25K. Dial up would have been faster.
I brought this to the attention at the main desk and it was a wast of time.
I had ...
In comparison to other cruises that we have taken, there were some obvious similarities as well as differences. Some services were great, some weren't. I will break it down (We took 7 day cruise with Coral Princess from Whittier to Vancouver).
Embarkation/ Disembarkation:
We boarded from Whittier, Alaska which is a fairly small port. Ours was the only ship. Luggage drop off and check in was ...
This was our 18th Alaska cruise. We have done several with Princess and also with four other cruise lines. We have done four Princess cruise to Alaska from San Francisco.
EMBARKATION
Our travel agency provided transportation from Roseville, California and we had a comfortable ride directly to the ship. We arrived about 1:00 PM and were on board within a few minutes. The check in process ...
This his the 3rd time we've done this cruise from San Francisco. The first went to Glacier Bay and last year we went to Tracy Arm. The reason we went to both this year was due to a Medical emergency that required a helicopter evacuation from the ship.Captain Smith told us we'd be missing Juneau and that a naturalist would be coming on for our trip in the arm, Saw the boat pull along side, but ...
Alaska was great! Glacier Bay Alaska was amazing to see and watch the ice fall. We unfortunately were not able to go to Juneau Alaska as planned. There was a medical emergency on the ship and we had to change the course so that the Canadian Coast Guard could helicopter out and pick up the sick person. The captain and authorities in charge of our cruise decided and worked it out so that we could ...
Choose this cruise as we were informed that this was the best line for Alaska Cruise. How very disappointing. I have taken over 15 cruises (Disney, Carnival, Royal Carrib, Celebrity) and this was the worst.
Took a Princess cruise in 1994 - which was also terrible. Thought we would give it another try. Certainly never will again. Ship was not well kept, staff was not helpful or friendly. ...
First I would like to give a shoutout to Denise Norwood who helped coordinate our flight, transfer to and from ship, our room, dining options and flight home. At one point I had a problem and she took charge and did not give up until she corrected it and kept me in the loop every few hours. Thank you Denise.
The Ruby Princess is a beautiful ship. We were so impressed with the size and the ...
I just completed my second Alaska cruise and it was amazing but what will make this cruise stand out in my memory was the crew of the Royal Princess. For this trip, I joined five others so we had a group of six and two ended up in wheelchairs just before the cruise. That last fact (ended up in) was important because only one of them had a handicapped room. The cruiser with the wheelchair and ...
