Wonderful Family Respite

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Ruby Princess

I truly chose this cruise for my parents, myself & sister because of the great deal. We were able to stay in a beautiful suite at a great discount. But we loved the huge balcony and appreciated the size of the suite and would have paid more for the wonderful week we experienced. Our only complaint was the lack of seating at the Horizons buffet (Dad is a buffet fan, but the crowd was a nightmare, ...

Great soft product, mediocre hard product

My wife have always wanted to visit Alaska by a cruise ship. So it was between Princess and Holland America as they offered the most itineraries with Glacier Bay. Holland America's Eurodam had a very similar itinerary as our Ruby Princess and almost chose that over the Ruby. The service aboard Ruby was very good. Room steward was excellent. Our mini-suite cabin was more than spacious for 2 ...

This was our first cruise with Princess Cruise Lines. Princess has quickly became our favorite! The embarkation process was extremely smooth and organized! We were amazed at how quickly it went! The ship was spotless from top to bottom everywhere you looked! We took the Ultimate Ship Tour which allowed us to see the areas that most guests are not allowed into and it was very ...

Disappointing cruise

we picked this cruise so that we could experience Alaska and sail back to Australia. The overall experience was not that good. The food was not very good at all and had very little variety and flavour. The entertainment was extremely disappointing and not up to par with other cruises we had had prior to this. There were a lot of minor things that made this cruise much less enjoyable than what we ...

We chose this cruise for the departure port and itinerary, but I wouldn’t change anything. The ship is older and doesn’t have all the wizz bang features of the new ships, but that’s not why you cruise to Alaska. I didn’t notice any maintenance issues or problems with cleanliness. No funny sewerage smells or problems with air conditioning. Our stateroom was always clean and very comfortable. The ...

Great first time on Princess

I specifically wanted to go thru Tracy Arm Fjord and was not disappointed with this cruise. Crew members were amazing, scenery was indescribable and passengers are now considered friends. We enjoyed exploring Sitka alone while participating in excursions in Haines and Juneau. Disappointed with the minimal time available in Victoria, Canada but I hadn't expected to want more time. What a ...

I don't have any complaints about this cruise, except it is an older ship. Otherwise, everything was wonderful, especially the staff in all departments! Cabin was depressing as I quickly learned the importance of light. Our cabin steward and dining waiter went above and beyond any expectation we came on board with. Embarkation and disembarkation processes were easy and smooth. San Francisco was a ...

Alaska great, ship disappointing

We stayed in one of the larger suites C409 (Penthouse), and we're disappointed mainly regarding the balcony, although the cabin was dated. The furniture was old with black mildew on most surfaces and in disrepair. The lounge chairs had stained cushions that were often wet, and the hardware was so corroded that they could not be adjusted. With that said, the crew was overall very nice. The food was ...

Celebration Cruise - Retirement and 30th Wedding Anniversary

The cruise was a bucket list item for us. It came highly recommended by many friends and family who had taken the same cruise. It was a great way to celebrate my retirement and our 30th wedding anniversary. It was everything we expected and more! We couldn't have asked for a better experience. The ship was certainly GRAND and beautiful. So many things to do and see on board. Our room was ...

Good cruise except for smoking in casino which permeated much of the ship.

Never been to Sitka or Haines. Big ships rarely go there, but to Skagway and Ketchikan instead. Overall good experience but dampened by toxic second-hand smoke throughout the ship's common area from casino. Even gets into the staterooms via casino smokers and non-smokers who then bring the smell and carcinogens back to their rooms. Other than that, the staterooms are excellent, in ...
