The poolside Key West Bar & Grfill and adjacent Dolce Gelato were never open, like all the other specialty restaurants I had mentioned.
Life here, as elsewhere, like pre-covid. But limited to no poolside dining options. You could always double back into the Aloha Cafe buffet if it is still open.
Every meal, there 2 inexpensive processed lunchmeats to select from. I remember when corned beef had disappeared. Now turkey slices didn't even make an appearance,
At this quiet time in the Aloha Cafe buffet, fewer options for a meal were apparent. Even the shrimp cesear salad wrap (served 2 different lunches) had large croutons stuffed with 3 small shrimp & 2-3 crouton stuffung, I never saw that bread filler in a seafood wrap before. Boo!

Poor customer service

The staff on the ship was, for the most part, excellent and helpful. The food was average to poor. The NCL excursions were too limited in what was offered. One day our excursion was cancelled at the last minute due to not enough people have signed up. We were told nothing else was available. We had to scramble to contact other companies and found a good selection of independent excursions ...

Change Itinerary after Final Payment & Skipped Ports

Review for Pride of America to Hawaii

I choose this cruise because of the ports. Chance to go to the 4 major Hawaiian Islands. Shortly after the final payment deadline, NCL notified us of an itinerary change. Due to scheduled maintenance (that they knew about far ahead) they were skipping sailing down the Napali Coast in Kauai. (This is the most beautiful part of the island that you can only view by boat or plane/helicopter.) We ...

Embarkation: Super easy and quick. We were early (second in line to wait for security) as we wanted to drop off our luggage and check-in prior to going to Pearl Harbor. Ladies and girls will get a beautiful orchid lei and men and boys will get a shell lei. Check in was a breeze at the counter. I'm sure if you hit the wrong time, you would have a bit of a wait. I'm sure the Platinum or higher ...

My husband and I wanted to have a chance to see multiple islands to see which might be our favorites. We’d only been to Oahu previously. Embarkation and disembarking was very easy. We utilized NCL transfer transportation from/to the airport which was great. These were handled extremely well. Food was mediocre at best in the buffet. We ate at Cadillac diner, Skyline and specialty restaurants. ...

Expected too much I guess

I enjoyed where the ship took us. My biggest complaint is the customer service. People that work on the ship could work on customer service. They are not very helpful nor have any kind.of urgency about them. Like to complain about other workers in front of customers. We have been on 4 other cruise before this one and they all had exceptional customer service. So this really threw us back in ...

Awesome itinerary. Unremarkable ship

Let me begin by saying that you choose the Pride of America because of the awesome itinerary rather than the ship. We were in port every day and I came back to the ship every night tired enough that I really didn’t want much on the ship. The ship itself is nothing special, but not bad either. In fact, it didn’t stand out in any way, positive or negative. It was clean and comfortable, but ...

Overall Better Than Expected

I had a very low expectations given the reviews that I read hear prior to taking my trip. I am very grateful that my expectations were very low as I was pleasantly surprised. First the good. We were in cabin 4100 and it was great as it made it easy to get on and off the boat. Our cabin steward was great though we barely interacted with her. We did not find the boat to look old or in disrepair. The ...

NCL Kills The joy of sailing on embarkation

Nothing kills a good mood other than having two 12 once cans of diet Pepsi confiscated by "security" while boarding. I'm platinum level with over 40 cruises and never had a problem bringing on a few cans of pop. The cruise itself was fine, though expensive for a seven day cruise, we'll probably stick to the Caribbean, Hawaii was nice to see once, but the Caribbean has better ...

We wanted to cruise the Hawaiian Islands and heard Norwegian did a great job. The staff and the food in the Skyline dining room was great. Our cabin steward, Andrew was very friendly and accommodating. We also found the rest of the staff on the ship to be very upbeat and friendly. The entertainment was one of the best compared to other cruises we have taken. The only disappointments were the ...
