Friends of mine chose this cruise. They had also never cruised on Scenic. This was my third river cruise, the other two were with a competitor. Overall, an okay cruise, and that's all. The time that we spent inPrague was great. The Viking staff and hotel was excellent. On the river we were disappointed that the top deck was not available for over half the trip because of low bridges. If this was known, perhaps another cruise would have been chosen. We had sailed Emerald before and rated it highly, so when we decided on the Danube they were our #1 choice. It’s an attractive well maintained ship with plenty of crew. The weather wasn’t so great so the top deck got little use, but that’s April in Europe. This cruise was arranged through Vermont Biking Tours VBT. The cabin were similar to Avalon, Viking, and Uniworld quality. The staff was excellent speaking English very well and very professional. Went on uniworld last year Avignon to Lyon. Great cruise. Great food, wine service. Not this year. What happened to the personal butlers? Gone! Food was at best average and some afternoons even worse. Cabins are smaller. Tours are shorter and not as interesting. I loved last year. Not this year. I would not recommend this tour.
