Exmouth Cruise Port

Port of Exmouth: An Overview

Exmouth is located right at the tip of North West Cape in Western Australia, some 1,270 kilometres north of Perth. Originally established in 1967 to support the nearby United States Naval Communication Station, Exmouth is now very much a tourist town.

Don't Miss

The Ningaloo Reef is the main attraction -- and what a sensational experience it is. Exmouth is at the northern end of the 260-kilometre-long reef, one of only two in the world to form on the western side of a land mass. The reef protects a lagoon that's ideal for snorkelling and, in many places, is just metres from the shore. You can also see the reef and its multitudinous marine life from a dive boat, glass-bottom boat, kayak or scenic flight. The star of the show is the harmless whale shark, the world's biggest fish, and you can swim with the gentle giants when they visit from April to July. At Cape Range National Park, you'll spot rugged limestone ranges, canyons and pristine beaches as far as the eye can see. Exmouth's unique location also means you can watch both sunrises and sunsets over the water.
