This cruise was really amazing, the staff was very friendly and always there to help with anything or answer any questions you have. The cabin was spacious and clean. The beds are very comfortable and we slept great every night. We just can't wait to go on our next adventure with them. The excursions were fun and there was lots of information given about all the spots we stopped at. The busses you ...

Authentic paddlewheel ship with a bright new interior

America West is one of the last authentic paddlewheel ships you can experience. We sailed on this cute little piece of nostalgia in July 2022. She had apparently just undergone a beautiful renovation of her interior. Now she has the same bright and modern decor as ACL's newer ships. The Columbia/Snake River is a beautiful itinerary and the Lewis & Clark themed cruise was a piece of history ...

I loved American cruises so much that I just came back from a second one. I took one earlier this year. I felt safe from Covid- everyone has been vaccinated on board, and we all had covid tests before embarkation. That made for a very comfortable, secure trip. It's nice to get to travel after all this time and not feel worried about the virus. The ship itself had a lot of old world charm. ...

Cruising down the Columbia Snake River

Doing the Lewis and Clark riverboat Cruise has always been on our bucket list. This seemed to be a good time of the year. Queen of the West is an older boat and is very intimate. Bedroom very small but haven’t spent much time in it but to sleep. Several places where you can sit, watch the scenery, read or visit with the new friends you meet daily. Crew very attentive and Edgar to ...

We were a little hesitant to sail on the Queen of the West after reading some reviews here on cruise critic and other sites. We spent the night at the Red Lion Inn in Jantzen Beach. Hotel was very nice and the restaurant was as well. The ship was docked within walking distance of the hotel. The crew was so well organized and had our luggage in our cabin by 9:00. We had cabin suite 402. There ...

Beautiful scenery and wonderful cruise

I wanted to experience the area from the perspective of the river itself. I have traveled with American Cruise Lines before and wanted to do it again. The ship is one of the oldest in this fleet, but it was beautiful nonetheless. The cabin was a little small, but as a single it was adequate. The common areas were lovely; very comfortable furniture and a great place to just relax. The captain ...

Short but a lot of fun

Review for a U.S.A. Cruise on American West (formerly Queen of the West)

After our 2017 cruise on the Queen of the Mississippi, we wanted to experience another cruise on ACL. We piggybacked this cruise with a few days in the Willamette Valley, so the shorter cruise time was not an issue. The food was great, although the portion sizes did seem a little smaller than our prior cruise. Note that this ship is not one that ACL had built; so the orientation is a bit ...
